We loved Kitty O'Se's!! It is a fun, lively, and welcoming pub. Each time we went, and we went three times, there was a fun Irish band playing. It does seem like there's music constantly. On Saturday night we were there while one was playing and another was setting up. We were there during the jazz festival so we were unable unfortunately to eat, so I will have to wait until next time to try the fish and chips. The bar always has snacks for sale. I just love pubs because there's never any pressure to purchase more or as soon as your drink is empty a server coming right up to you asking if you wanted another. We really enjoyed ending our night here with live music and the fun atmosphere and just ordering a drink and a soda. OMG!!! SCRUMPTIOUS! The seafood chowder is chock full of delicious seafood! I highly recommend it. I also got the chili and garlic shrimp. Oh so good! This place is a must try! I wish I lived closer! They say that Kitty O'Se's has the best Fish & Chips in town. Well, considering that I did not have fish and chips anywhere else in town, I'd have to agree. Seriously, though, they do make their version very delicious. The restaurant was packed with patrons the day we visited. Luckily, though, we only waited about 15 minutes before a table became available for us. The place was a bit noisy, but not annoyingly so. Cool ambiance overall. Service was attentive and polite. As I mentioned earlier, the fish & chips was delicious. Also tried their homemade Seafood Chowder, and it did not disappoint as well. Drank a pint of Murphy's Irish Stout for the first time ever. Tasted smooth with a hint of chocolate and caramel. 5 stars for that bit of alcohol. Kitty O'Se's is a terrific place to dine whenever you find yourself in this part of Ireland. Enjoy!! read more

Well, we didn't order any food at this restaurant, the atmosphere was warm, not only from the service that also for the heat. These people really know how to make a place warm. No descriptions necessary of the interior as I think a capture it pretty well in the pictures. This is definitely a place for the locals go as our accents from America. We're definitely out of place. But that did not make us feel uncomfortable so you shouldn't either. Certainly would recommend as a tourist, I'm not sure if locals would as I don't see it from their point of view. For me personally, I did not find the dryer in the bathroom, sufficient enough to dry my hands. Other than that, it's pretty cool place. read more

This might be a good pub, but never got the chance to find out. Came in with my wife and two sons for lunch about a week ago. We sat at a table for about 10 minutes and never even got our presence acknowledged. Saw two parties come in after us who were both greeted and their orders taken, so we all go up and walked out. Went next door to the White House where the food was excellent and the staff was much more friendly and welcoming. I'd recommend skipping this place and just go directly to the White House for a drink and a lunch! read more

Well talk about a fun little bar and restaurant! We came here for dinner and stayed for the live music. The food was pretty good on the level of what we have experienced in Ireland. The fun part was the music and people though. We got to meet some locals, and other people visiting on holiday. I rate the fish and chips more like a 4 and my partners steak on the level of a 3, but the atmosphere here pulled my rating to a 5. The steak was thin and not a great cut of beef. The chips on my fish & chips weren't all cooked through. So with minimal expectations for food and high expectations on fun you will enjoy this place. read more

As American tourists we were looking for an Irish pub and were directed here... so glad! I have to admit, they had us at the name! Kitty's has a great menu with lots of choices. We had a large group (we had to split up to two tables) and everyone was happy with their choices. The food was hot, of great quality, and in large portions. Traveling to Kinsale from the states, this place was absolutely wonderful. I cannot recommend it enough! The club sandwich was one of the best I have ever tasted. Guiness beef stew. Sweet potato soup. Fried Brie with currents. Everything was absolutely wonderful. The Irish coffee should not be missed. The staff is kind and shared a conversation. Ok. Recommended to come here. Had the shrimp appetizer. It was ok. About 8 or small smaller shrimp in a very oily dip with some garlic bread. Flavor was good, but shrimp were just ok. Wife had the seafood chowder. Nice and full of seafood, flavor was good, but it was just a tad over warm. In-excusable for a good chowder. I had fish and chips. Was ok. Came here with my husband. We are newly weds and really want to enjoy our honeymoon. We spilt the mussels and an order of spring rolls. The mussels were good. Loved the spring rolls. Dipping sauce was delicious. Music was a little too loud for our taste considering it was only about 6/6:30. I will say what kind ruined the experience for us was that our waiter clearly had been drinking. It made me very uncomfortable. To the point where we didn't stay for more drinks. I won't go back there this trip either just to avoid seeing him again. Giving a two star because the star rating is about experience and it was not a good one for us. read more

Stopped in because most all other restaurants were closed because it is early April and Tuesday. We were pleasantly surprised. Inside is much nicer and cleaner than it looks from the outside. This is a great pub in Kinsale and the beers are served cold the way you like them. Some of the best fish and chips we tried. It was tender and very flavorful. We left just after the music started but it sounded great. Lots of locals and regulars so it must be good. My husband and I were in Kinsale for a few hours as part of a cruise excursion. Our tour guide suggested Kitty's for lunch for a good pub lunch. It seems many of our tour-mates descended on the pub at the same time for lunch, and so service was understandably a bit slow, but still solid. I had the fish and chips and my husband had one of the day's specials, Beef and Guinness Stew. I really enjoyed the Fish and Chips. My husband was less impressed with the stew. Mussels, steak and lasagna are three dishes we ordered. The bar also had a good assortment of whiskeys. The food was good, plentiful, and tasty. Each dish came with a small dinner salad. The lasagne came with fries and I ordered the veggies (turnips and carrots with fresh Irish butter). Dishes was good. Stopped in to have a pint and watch a football match. The place has not much space, we were able to grab a small table in front of the tv. No more service from there on out. Did I mention I got our beers at the bar myself. No would you like any snacks, food nothing. lots of staff for a small place, but no service with a smile.
