When I confronted him about it he pretty much said ohh well. Now he's demanding I pay him the $150 for work he didn't do. Numerous paper cuts from wrestling with an overgrown pampas grass bush for an hour last Sunday made…read moreme finally decide to hire someone to fix up my front yard. After finding Ricardo on yelp with his three reviews and calling him at about 2 in the afternoon that Sunday, he came by an hour later and gave me a super reasonable estimate. He was there Monday afternoon at the time we had agreed upon with a helper after giving me the requested 30 minutes heads-up call so I could zip home from my office. They worked for about 5 hours straight and did every single thing we had discussed the day before, exactly as I had imagined: Hedges, trees, grass, an overgrown walkway and yes, that evil pampas grass! The result was a a pristine front yard with everything he had cut down, chopped off and swept up loaded on his truck and hauled away. He even swept the garage floor in the short period of time that the door was up between me and my wife getting home... what a treat that was this morning (Wednesday) when I finally noticed it! He also gave me a reasonable quote for bi-weekly maintenance so I'm officially off the hook for keeping my yard in shape, ready to turn in my hedge trimmer.

Wife & I had a total home remodel overseen by Marrokal Design and Remodeling (separate review)…read more This was a TOTAL home remodel which had us move out for 9-months and move back into a new home with new yards. Marrokal recommended Landscape Logic & Tony Vitale for all exterior landscaping, fences, trellis, fountains, etc.. And boy are we happy with that recommendation! We scheduled Tony to visit our site and discuss our desires. Tony impressed us with his knowledge and desire to exceed customer desires! A week or so later Tony emailed us some preliminary designs and cost estimates. OK, I'll be honest here, Tony's cost estimates way exceeded our landscaping budget targets from Marrokal. Wife & I were in shock. We contacted Tony and he identified some cost drivers we could reconsider. One easy change was using decomposed granite (DG) for our backyard dining area instead of concrete. Immediate cost reduction of over $5K. After a few redesigns we approved cost estimates and gave approval for work to begin. And this is where we became total fans of Tony Vitale and Landscape Logic! Wife and I really had not comprehended the amount of work which was simply for site preparation. Much existing soil needed to be removed to allow for grading. This also entailed removal of large root systems and old irrigation. There was a team of workers onsite for many days working hard from early morning until just before sunset. A special shout out to team foreman Balthazar! This was backbreaking work using picks, jackhammers and shovels. Laying new drip irrigations system was equally a large task which required laying a new drain under a sidewalk and drilling a hole through street curb. Tony then met us at a local nursery and we walked the grounds to select new plants and trees. I was really impressed with Tony's knowledge of each plant/tree variety. Wife & I might point at something we really liked and Tony would warn us against the selection due to size after growth. Tony would then identify alternate plant selections which would stay within growth constrains for our yard. Tony also identified excellent sources for fence and trellis, of which he would oversee work. Wife & I are totally happy with our new yards both front and back. My neighbor decided to rebuild the fence between us, which was great, but then it occurred to me…read morethat in order to get the new fence installed at the level I wanted it, I needed to tear down the low brick retaining wall that runs the length of the fence on my side. No big deal, except I only got two days notice, so there was no time to do it myself. Figuring it was a long shot, I called Scott to ask if there was any way he could get that wall torn out for me in the next couple of days. Not only was he willing to take on the job on short notice, but he did a FANTASTIC job at a very reasonable price. He and his helper tore down the wall and disposed of the brick as well as the excess dirt. I was really impressed with how complete and thorough they were, and how well they cleaned up. Zosimo was recommended to us by some close friends who always use him for their landscaping and he was did not disappoint. He was so patient working with us, gave some really great and modern design ideas, helped us value engineer throughout, and suggested plants he knew we'd like. His crew was always on time, often early, and knocked everything out on schedule as promised. We planted some larger trees that required forklifts and him and his crew made sure the proper traffic control, pedestrian safety precautions, and everything was in place prior to starting work. Even after the work was complete, Zosimo has come back multiple times to help us adjust our sprinkler system as needed to ensure proper watering, educate us on fertilizing our lawn, etc. He is always available if we need him because customer satisfaction is his #1. Multiple neighbors have stopped and complimented us on how wonderful our yard looks and asked who did the work.
