The store had a wide variety of Christmas decorations and household goods, living up to its name. My wife and I visited before heading to T.J. Maxx next door and picked up a few gifts. I'm certain my wife would love to return, as they offer a great selection of condiments, home decor, and ingredients for cooking Italian food. I always get lost in this store in the best possible way. They have a great selection of everything for the home, just give yourself time to sift through everything. Got a bunch of really nice frames. Great candles (even soy based). There's a bathroom in the back, could be cleaner by fine enough. I always wait a little in line to pay but never as long as at the one in mission valley. Bonus that the shopping center also has a tj maxx, sprouts and dollar store. read more

I've worked in retail for years. I get staffing issues and security. The restrooms have key codes. I get it. No biggie. But asked where the restroom is. This woman said "back in the corner". Again...so far so good. I see the key pad. I had to go back to the woman across the store and ask for the key code. "I can't give you that". Ok, " how do you recommend i use the restroom?" She's says , "you have to find someone over in that area". I let her know I looked and could find anyone. She was so upset "I'll take you over there. Are you coming". The customer service is absolutely terrible at this location. From the moment I walked in the store, no shopping carts available (although store was not busy). When I got in line there was a lady in front of me who was not called to the register but saw two register lights on, so she took it upon herself to just walk to the register (as she should a light on the register means it's open). One other customer was standing at a register, I assume someone went to get something for her no cashier was present possibly reg 6. However cashier 3 and 4 were standing there doing something but lights were on their registers with no customers. I finally got tired of waiting and asked if they were open one cashreplied that she was helping the other cashier. Finally a voice from register 2 which we could not see from the front of the line poked her head out and said I am open, I replied oh I couldn't see you and she replied aggressively I was helping someone in a very rude tone! I expressed to "Rose" the rude cashier that she didn't have to be so rude that I was just informing her that we can't see her from where the customer stands in the line and she kept on attempting to argue with me. I have been coming to this store for years and will not be going back! I spoke to the lead and she was super apologetic but I know nothing will be done. Hence why I am on here. I then went to TJ maxx and it was a complete 360 super nice attentive staff. By the way once I was done at TJ maxx I walked by HomeGoods and still no carts over an hour later... it is apparent to me that the staff at this HomeGoods don't care about their customers. read more

I came with a friend to find some art for her new condo and we had a hard time just picking 3 bc there was so many great pieces to choose from. They've got a great furniture selection. With any kind of discount retail store.. the inventory is a hit or miss on any given day. I have bought great pictures from here (lots of flower and chandelier paintings/photos), kitchenware (plates, bowls, cutlery, Tupperware), towels, blankets etc. However, I most frequent this store for their surprising selection of cheap dog toys. They have a great pet section filled with pet beds, treats, and accessories. My dog goes through toys quicker than most dogs, so I appreciate these surprisingly durable toys ranging from $3-10. Also, they have a yummy snack aisle with food you'd be more likely to find in a world market than a local grocery. It's nice to browse new brands and what not. Usually the check out line moves quickly and the staff are pretty helpful. read more

Even if you are looking for a simple housewarming gift, you must come here. My advice . . . If you see something you like, buy it! It might not be there if you hesitate and leave the store then return a day or two later. It is much easier to return an item if you had second thoughts versus having regrets that someone else bought your item. Their return policy is liberal. Keep your receipt and you can return within 30 days. During my most recent trip, I had the pleasure of being helped by Kale & Troy. Both young men were super helpful, friendly, courteous and professional. I purchased a console for the living room and a chair for my bedroom on a Saturday. I had to return the following day to pick them up. Both gentlemen were working both days and helped me get my purchases into my car. I even ended up buying an area rug on the second day. The management is very lucky to have these two great young men as part of their staff. I will definitely be a return shopper. read more

Went to Home Goods Chula Vista CA and a Christmas item I wanted to buy was priced wrong and it was the only item in store and rather than sell it to me because they had it marked incorrectly, they would not sell it to me. I asked them how much it was, and I would pay the correct price, and they didn't even know how much the correct price was so that I could purchase it all they knew that it wasn't the correct price. They should have sold it to me for the advertised price that it was marked in store. Isn't that called bait and switch? If the item was marked a price that is the price it should have been sold for, how can you shop for items and then take it to the register, and they tell you oh no it's a different price!!! Not just that I would have paid the correct price, but they didn't even know what that was. Bad business. read more

I called 10 min before closing to say I would be there a minute or two before closing. They put me on hold and I ended up having to call back because no one came back on the line. I got there 2 minutes before closing, I knew exactly what I was getting and where it was and they didn't let me come in. Very poor customer service. Matter of fact I'm sitting in the chair section right now testing comfortability of chairs I "might" buy but truthfully I do get a lot of inspiration for our home in this store. I could spend hours in this place, it's my happy place. They have everything you need and more to furnish an entire house from living, dining, bedroom and bathroom. The furniture is beautiful. Thing is you'll have to buy it when you see it or it will be gone. Everything they have in stock is what they have out on the floor. On this trip I was able to snag a complete set of French Connection towels. Super soft and great material. I also able to find a matching bathroom accessory set, brushed silver and glass. I wanted to get all of the furniture pieces too but I don't have the space for it yet. The deals here are unbelievable and the brands you can find. I seriously think that Home Goods is now my favorite store for house decor. Whenever I'm in the area and need something to decorate my home, I swing by the Rosecrans location. They have a lot of great brands at an amazing price. All pretty reasonable. All things house related, they got it. I have to restrain myself when I see all the cute things I could buy. During my last visit, I just bought new decorations for the Christmas tree. Thankfully, I managed to stick to my budget. Barely. For the most part, the store is kept clean and organized. The aisles are a bit tight, so shopping cart navigation might be a problem. It's even more nuts during the holidays. Shop at your own risk. Parking can be crazy. But, I won't complain about it too much because there are also a number of other businesses that I can visit here, as well. I probably could have easily stayed in this store all day. It's got tons of stuff like Ross, but is much cleaner like Marshall's and TJ Maxx. This is a great discount store for home decor. They have stuff for your bedroom, living room, face, body (beauty and hygiene products), kitchen (cookware & gourmet food snacks/seasonings), and miscellaneous cards, notebooks, and organizational cuteness. There's no reason they would or should have a purse section, but oh man, that sure would make me smile...and stay. I've heard they get new shipments frequently. That's cool if you want to keep returning, and not-so-cool if you're hoping that what you seen last week is still there. They get pretty darn busy and the line gets pretty darn long, but like Marshall's, they've set it up in a way where items are stationed for browsing and adding to your cart while you wait in line. But for the most part I get lost in a sea of home accents that are little gems that add great pizazz to your personal space at home or at the office! We bought two pieces of furniture that I love but I will be honest the adorable chair I bought isn't the most comfy but a damn cute piece in our living room! The drawer we purchased is my favorite! It has so much character and I'm so glad I snatch it when I did because I would if never seen it again! Great prices on everything! We went there looking for dog items. A 4th of any pet store I ever gone to. We got all the goodies for the puppy (Chloe) we got the next day. They have items from $2.00 and nothing over $20 on puppy items. Went to a name brand store and wow I was sticker shocked. Of course we ended up with a lot more items I just had to have. For $19.00 I found Mikasa silver set - for 8. Well I had to buy two. Their store manager, Daniel is amazing and will definitely go the extra mile for outstanding service. He is very knowledgeable of processes and his staff are all on point. I've made a lot of huge purchases here in a short amount of time and they are always quick to help and very professional and friendly even if other patrons are impatient (when they shouldn't be!)!!! I went into this particular Homegoods for the first time today. Only intention was to purchase a 100.00 gift card. I carried in only my Atm card . When I got to the cashier she asked amount and I replied 100.00. She then began to question if I had an ID? I replied " No, but I can easily get it as my car was parked close. She insisted she would call a manager. I once again said I can get my ID. I did not want this to become an ordeal. She said " she will me here soon". Yup I was told go get my ID. I did but I could see she was so annoyed by me and when I came back she held up my D.L. to my face along w/ my CC. She however did not do that to any other customer while I was there. I told her felt a Lil racist. She was white and so were customers that checked out @ the same time. Her name is Victoria. I did call to report her . I should of just done my transaction online as you can easily purchase them that way.. never again would I even drive by that toxic place.
