To their credit Gettelfinger Insurance finds us the best rates and they are always easy to deal with anytime we have home improvements or issues. Too often I have friends that shop insurance rates and then jump to different carriers for lower rates only to find out that after the first year the rates go up until they move on to another insurance provider. Capstone Equipment LLC began our relationship with Sterling Thompson in 2020. During the period…read morefrom 2020 through 2026, Sterling Thompson misrepresented the terms of our policy on two distinct occasions. On the first occasion, the damages to Capstone resulting from Sterling Thompson's misrepresentation was circa $50,000. Sterling Thompson blamed an employee who was no longer with the firm, which we felt was quite unprofessional. However, Sterling Thompson agreed to pay a reasonable portion of the liability to resolve this issue. On the second occasion, Capstone had specifically requested that the general liability premium be fully auditable, and that the excess liability premium not be subject to audit. Sterling Thompson unilaterally modified our general liability premium audit terms without disclosing this change with Capstone. This was discovered when Capstone was expecting to receive a $17,000 premium adjustment, but the funds did not arrive. Sterling Thompson maintained that the technical wording in the general liability proposal (received 2 days prior to our policy expiring) indicated this change, even though Capstone had specifically requested terms contradictory to what they provided. When this issue was presented to Sterling Thompson with detailed substantiating documentation, they chose to drop Capstone as their client in lieu of taking responsibility for their actions.

I have to preface this review by saying I'm extremely skeptical when listening to TV commercials…read more However after seeing numerous commercials for Family Select, I thought why not give them a shot after my insurance company of 15 years raised my rates significantly. We've not had even one homeowners or car claim, yet my current company raised my rates year after year. My current insurance company went up almost $500 this year for home and auto combined. I called Family Select and was transferred to Kala Turner. Kala had me give her all the pertinent information off my current policies. Kala stated she would call me back by end of day with my quotes. Within a couple hours Kala called me with my quotes. Her quote for homeowners was $400 less than my current carrier and her quote for my cars was $300 less. Plus both her homeowners and auto quotes were for more coverage than my current insurance company. The combined savings of $700 made my decision very easy. I decided I was moving to Family Select. However, that's not the end of the story! I go to the office to sign the paperwork and pay the premiums. When I get there, Kala informs me the company she quoted had LOWERED, yes lowered their rates since she originally quoted me. Now, my premiums were a total of $165 LESS than she originally quoted. My total savings was now $865! Kala was very easy and pleasant to work with. At this point I am extremely happy I called Family Select and Kala.
