We went down the "main street" no street lights or anything. Very laid back. They have some small family run restaurants, art galleries, one barber, one auto parts store. Since we went on a Saturday, some of the businesses were closed. We checked out JJ's ohana store, Aloha spice Company, the Hanapepe swinging bridge, and Kauai menehune kitchen to name a few. We came to POIPU SHOPPING VILLAGE for some eats and it delivers!…read more POIPU SHOPPING VILLAGE has its own free parking lot and it is also very accessible from the main street. Some eateries are open before the rest of the village even opens... and some close way after the sun goes down. They participated in the Annual Koloa Plantation Days and we are ever so excited. I know it's a commercial event masquerading as a local heritage event, but it was fun.

Parking is open and spacious, as with most other Kauai shopping areas, none are covered stalls. We enjoyed what we thought was a book store but ended up being more of a toy/hobby store. My youngest daughter was thrilled to find some new collectors items from Hawaii! We also enjoyed the cotton candy machine. That was really cool to see and enjoy!
