They have a wide variety of different items with a wide variety of price points. Everyone we encountered was super kind!! I'm not sure if Puka Dog is still here-didn't see it. We once dined at Keoki's Paradise-lovely natural setting, great service, delicious food. Loved their monkfish! I highly recommend that place. We came to POIPU SHOPPING VILLAGE for some eats and it delivers! POIPU SHOPPING VILLAGE has its own free parking lot and it is also very accessible from the main street. Some eateries are open before the rest of the village even opens... and some close way after the sun goes down. They participated in the Annual Koloa Plantation Days and we are ever so excited. I know it's a commercial event masquerading as a local heritage event, but it was fun. read more

LOVED the free hula show! We were on the fence about taking the kids (4 & 6) to a luau, but hesitated because of the crazy high prices. At 30 minutes, this hula show was exactly the right amount of hula for our boys, and totally free (save for the Jackson that we dropped into their basket with extreme gratitude). Snapped a gorgeous photo of the kids with the friendly dancers, then jetted up the road to Porky's for a plate dinner to round out an evening of Hawaiiana. DIY luau experience, totally worth every minute and every penny. read more

This review is just for the hula show: they do it 2x / week and it is great. It's in the shade, huge plus after a day on the beach. The host / guitarist mixes humor with history and culture, and the dancers are from a local award winning school. It's only half an hour long (Mon and Thu @ 5pm) and they involve the kids (mine are still doing the hula, fish nets and all). Best of all...it's free! Highly recommend, then grab dinner and gelato here, it makes for a great evening. read more

Great upscale shopping center with lots of shops. I'm trying to remember the name of the main restaurant in there; it was amazing. We had ribs and seafood and both were great. The seating is open in the back to fresh air and lots of forest. Such a great experience. read more

This place is decent enough and has some cool boutique shops. Everyone I spoke with in the shops was very friendly and helpful. If we weren't staying close to this place, we probably wouldn't have checked it out as it is very small and is lacking a lot of options. This plaza could use a longs/CVS/drugstore/grocery store in it. I think then it would really kill and bring in more business for the local retailers. read more

Nice ambience, clean, didn't feel overly touristy, restaurants seemed like they were all good quality and there was a variety of foods (we went for the pula dogs). Bathrooms are clean which is a huge plus! We were only there for 20mins to try the Puka dogs but I'd love to go back and explore a little more. We ended up at the Poipu Shopping Village about 3 times during our stay at the Koloa Landing Resort. The resort had free shuttles to a few spots in Poipu and this was one of them, so we took full advantage of that. I ended up enjoying the Poipu Shopping Village more than the newer Kukui'ula Village. They have a ton of shops here - ranging from restaurants to Hawaiian-style clothing stores to souvenir stores. While waiting for a table at Anuenue Café, we shopped around and I brought a new hat from Honolulu Surf Co. That hat definitely saved my face and hair many times during our trip! I also absolutely loved shopping in Whaler's General Store and Elephant Walk. Whaler's General Store is basically an ABC store, which we always visit to pick up some odds and ends - and souvenirs. Elephant Walk was a great place to pick up some local souvenirs. I found some really, really beautiful Christmas ornaments (my new souvenir of choice) here. We ended up eating here a few times as well - Anuenue Café is really good for breakfast or brunch, Puka Dog is great for a quick dinner or snack, and Keoki's Paradise is great if you're looking for a nicer, splurge for dinner. If you're staying in the Poipu area, definitely check out the Poipu Shopping Village. read more

The center is decent. Nice local shops, when visiting the Poipu area we always make it a point to stop in the Na Hoku jewelry store and Kauai Juice Co. you can't go wrong with jewels and juice!!! Center offers a couple eating options, none of which are a "must try". Usually stop in the area in mornings before enjoying the beach. Would love to have a nice breakfast option. The center has a small breakfast restaurant that has about 5 small tables and the lines are always long and the food is mediocre at best and the only other breakfast option is Starbucks, meh. A decent sit down breakfast option other than the pricey hotel breakfast options or grab and go places would be a welcome addition to the area. read more

This is like a mini-shopping mall. There are 3 places to eat and numerous boutique shops. You can walk around and enjoy the weather. We stopped in several stores but did not end up buying anything. I thought that there was pretty good selection, just not what I was looking for. Overall, worth the time if you are in Poipu. read more

In the heart of Poipu, fine dining, luxurious living, and maybe a vacation on Kauai that's worth a lifetime of memories is your ticket to paradise. At least that's how it's suppose to work. Over the years of coming to Kaua'i and running the Kaua'i marathon or half marathon since the inaugural year (2009), I've shopped off and on here at the Poipu shopping center and have lunch or dinner here. I would say that this quaint but upscale shopping villa has some specialty shops that you may find useful. While this shopping center is kind of small and eclectic for its size, you can definitely find something you want here without having to pay resort fees to get what you want. For the most part though, this quaint shopping center does it's due diligence about doing what they're supposed to do and that's the important thing. The Poipu shopping village parking lot is also the staging area for the annual kaua'i marathon and half marathon and the start line is nearby. Fortunate as always to be able to come here on an annual basis to run this one year after year. The overall experience here at this shopping center is pretty good and tranquil. I did not like the fact that it's too small and did not really have what I needed on this complex, but there's always shopping elsewhere too. The overall experience here at the Poipu shopping village is really just okay. As mentioned before, is just a quaint shopping complex with a couple of restaurants and specialty shops. It's not a small where you can get a whole foods or a Walmarts or even a Standard supermarket, but it is what it is. I've been to the Starbucks here as well as the Whaler's general store to pick up small kine snacks and drinks, but I don't think I've dined at the restaurants currently here. Maybe I am getting old or something. The Poipu shopping village is located at the corner of Kiahuna Plantation Drive and Poipu Road in the heart of Poipu itself. Many merchants here accept major credit cards and cash, so that's always a good thing. The Kaua'i Bus actually comes through the area, so you can come here through public transit. If you are the 95% of the visitor's and local people who come to Poipu, there are plenty of parking here for you to enjoy. My time here at the Poipu shopping village was brief. I did enjoy coming to the gelato place after running the 2017 Kaua'i marathon and had a big ol chocolate gelato at the Papalani Gelato shop. Didn't check into that particular business on yelp, but I'll return to here whenever that may be. Can be for next year, if I decide to pop a marathon or half marathon on kauai's south shore again. The Poipu shopping village was clean and very much pristine. The landscaping was nice and it was nice to be here again. It is a shame that there are not more eateries here, but that taco place looked pretty good although, I would like to try that place sometime soon. For y'all who want something not in the neighboring resorts and paying resort prices, the shops and dining options here at the Poipu shopping village may be your best alternative and it's relatively close by and easy to access. It beats driving back up to Lihue or Kapaa for cheaper fare. 4.0 stars for the overall experience. 4.0 stars for the gelato. Definitely worth a try. Support local! B read more

Super convenient little shopping center if you're staying at Kiahuna Plantation as it's directly across the street. Starbucks, Whalers for cheap souvenirs, wine, beer & basic food items, a burger resto, a gelato place, a Crazy Shirts, Roy's and Keoki's Paradise. Having the Shopping Village right here means you really good do a week at Kiahuna w/out a car and have a fine time. read more

This is a decent shopping area, but not the best on the island. There are a lot of empty shops? I can't tell if they were filling up or emptying out, but the whole place had a quiet, tired vibe to it. BUT -- I found a cute store that had Kauai- and Hawaii-themed Christmas ornaments, which I literally could not find anywhere else. (How was this the only shop that had a decent pineapple-shaped ornament?) There's a kind of touristy general store, and a couple shirt shops, some jewelry, and a few places to eat, but that's about it. It's the kind of shopping village that's nice to stop at when you're in the area, but not one you would go out of your way for. Anyway, at least there was a nice Starbucks, so it can't be all that bad. read more

Alright, there is a Starbucks, some restaurants, and some desserts. But the main reason why you need to stop by is to go to the "Travel Hawaii" store front. There you can ask the ladies about the discounts and what to do and what not to dos. Granted, they work on commission, and they're gonna sell you things that you may or may not need. And obviously, they're yes people. Meaning that they will say yes to anything to get a sale. The main reason is that this is where you will be able to negotiate the discounts. First of all, a helicopter tour, after taxes and fees, and etc, will come out to be about $250/person. Even if you applied online discount codes, portals, etc. But if you go to a timeshare seminar, totally free of monetary value, and spend 90-120 minutes there, then you can get a massive discount. Sometimes, you don't even need to spend that much time there. Just tell them that you're really there for the discount and that's it. But we dropped our price down to about $100 and some cents. Look at it like this, in 1 hour, you made $150/person in wages that went toward your tour. We did this for a number of excursions and saved over 70% on each of them. read more

If you're staying in Poipu, you'll probably find yourself here at least once (or, if you are me, three times). It's got a little bit of everything you need, including a Whaler's Village where you can pick up some souvenirs & anything you may have forgotten at home / couldn't pack in your carry-on. There's a cute store called Sand People. It's a nice respite from all the other big cheesy chain stores - highlights include great picture frames and fun vintage Hawaii signs. There's also a kid's version of the store there too. As for eats, there's a Puka Dogs (if you eat hot dogs, you must try it), and Keoki's Paradise (great place for dinner - just be sure to make a reservation). And of course, the good ol' standby: Starbucks - need I say more? Inside the complex there is an Activities desk there where you can book various excursions. FYI - We compared the price of a Na Pali cost tour between this Activities desk and the one at our hotel, and they were the same price, so you probably aren't necessarily going to get a better price here (..... which is why after I got all the info I booked online - sorry - I really didn't want to pay $20 more than I needed to...). Stayed at the Grand Hyatt for 1 week and this shopping center is a 5 min drive straight down the street. Loved the stores, the breakfast place, and lunch place. Everyone we ran into that worked there was super helpful and kind. The shopping center is also very clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking as well. read more

Meeehhh. So I should know not to expect a fancy mall like those in major cities but this tiny 20 store strip mall is still a bit of a disappointment. There is 1 gallery, a few clothing stores, 1 toy store, a tiny Whalers Market (local convenience store), 2 restaurants- all very over priced as tourist traps. The cheapest thing there maybe Puka dog and the gelato place next door and those aren't even cheap. Don't get me started on Keoki's, you can see my separate review on them. Aside from the lack of store, I will admit that the grounds are kept well. It can potentially be a nice outdoor stroll if I've had enough of the beach, Though I'm not sure how that is possible. A few people mentioned they have hula performances here on Tues and Thurs evening but I wasn't there those days but that would be a nice addition and gives you more of that hawaiian feel. read more

We didn't spend much time here, we were out exploring the island most of the time during our stay on Kauai. We did browse a little bit before eating at Roy's one night, and again another morning for about an hour. There seems to be a decent mix of tourist trap stores (and prices), and a couple of nicer places to grab non-cheesy souvenirs. Parking, however, sucked. Get there early, or be willing to drive around a bit to search for a spot. read more

If it were solely based on the market (like an ABC store), it would have five stars. Yeah, it's a little pricier but for a tourist spot, the prices were pretty good - at least better than the place we were staying at. And selection pretty good, especially with alcohol, food, soaps, souvenirs, etc. It's so limited, but I guess that's what you have to expect with Kauai shopping. So really, relatively speaking it should have four stars. It's a nice, quaint layout that's bigger than it looks from the outside, but man it's so small! However, size isn't everything, cuz there were other spots nearby that did not look inviting at all. They did have a Starbucks there, however, and they had happy hour frappuccinos from 3-5pm for the week. If I could give half stars, it'd be a 3 1/2, but I'll be nice. read more

Worth a stop if in the area. A mix of restaurants and shops, its a nice place to wander around after a day at the beach. The shops seem pricey but the restaurants offer a good selection of menus and price points. Inspired by Gwynnie's review, I checked and discovered I hadn't reviewed the Poipu Shopping Village. We have been coming here for years, every time we've been in Kauai. My favorite store used to be Elephant Walk, although its lustre has faded for me. Years ago Alan bought me a ring at one of the jewelry stores here. I know the location but forget its name. We've had many excellent dinners at Roy's here, good meals at Keoki's and OK meals at Puka Dog and Poipu Tropical Burgers. We've wandered through Sand People w/ Tam and DGD when we were on Kauai together and frequently we've stopped by the Whalers store to pick up sundries or other things we've forgotten. Shops and restaurants have come and gone but the shopping center endures and all in all it's a pretty cool place. read more

There's a good selection of stores but more for the tourists. There's about two shops that I'd say are good for locals to shop at because things are a bit on the expensive side and are more of the souvenir type stuff. There's a few good places to eat like Puka Dog and Keoki's for a sit down kind of restaurant. They also have like Polynesian dancing like 2 days a week which is worth it if you happen to be in the area. read more

While on vacation for the first time in Kauai, I asked the concierge at our hotel, where to shop for some warmer weather clothes. She suggested the Poipu Shopping Village. We drove there, and very quaint! It had everything we needed. I bought a pair of beach sandals, and a great spaghetti strap dress, which fit the bill just right. Clean shops, plenty of parking, all good. I highly recommend this shopping village if you find you need something while in Kauai. read more
