When I studied at Pitt, I love the Heinz Memorial Chapel a lot so my husband and I decided to have our wedding there after my graduation. At first, I thought I could handle all the wedding details by myself to save the money but then I figured out that mission impossible. I would have my wedding, my graduation project and final research paper at the same time! I would be an insane bride! So we started looking for wedding planners and Shari was the first one we contacted. Her professionalism, experienced attitude and thoughtful consideration really impressed us. After a few comparison with other wedding planners, we had Shari's assistant Andrea as our wedding planner. Andrea is the perfect one. She is nice, easy to communicate, thoughtful and very professional. I have no idea of how an American wedding goes like and she was so patient to explain all the details to me. She helped the most when we picking up all the vendors due to my budget. As my husband was working in Beijing, China by the time I was preparing the wedding, Andrea was the most helpful one to me. I can't thank her more for spending the last six months with me. Without her effort, I couldn't have such a beautiful wedding. I had a wedding prepare folder with 12 wedding vendors lists and she was always there when we had to meet with them. We almost spent every week together. I did a dual-language wedding ceremony and reception as our parents can't understand English. Andrea and her team coordinated that point with all the other vendors and we made it! Everything went through so well and our parents were grateful and happy too. For the wedding day, I just felt a little worried of the wedding party as we were not familiar with the American wedding. I knew Andrea would take care the rest of my wedding and make it perfect. I was so busy and anxious by the graduation ceremony on the morning and wedding on the evening. Sometimes life goes a little more quickly than you realize!…read more Shari recently helped us the day of our daughter's Confirmation. We decided at the last minute to mark the event with a little celebration. We only had a couple of weeks before the ceremony...the date just snuck up on us! Shari's consultation ensured that we didn't miss any details. Her recommendations and suggestions made the decision process so much easier...we could trust what she advised & just go with it because she has so much experience! The day of the event, Shari came early, coordinated with the caterer, & made sure everything was set. It was a blessing in disguise having her that day because the service went long. Some guests arrived before we even got home! The transformation in our home from before the ceremony to after when Shari had everything set up was amazing. We enjoyed the event that much more because she took away my worries about taking care of guests. Instead of rushing around, I was able to relax and enjoy our friends and family and some cake! I'm lucky to say Shari is a friend of mine, but my comments here are completely genuine. Her assistance was invaluable. She made the dynamic of the event much less stressful which was worth every penny...my husband will attest to that! This is a really cool park near Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, and Target around Upper St. Clair that I…read morelike to stop at whenever I'm in the area. The trail is great for beginners or if you just want a quick jog. There are several benches you can sit down on along the way, plus a tree stump in the woodsy part that you can also sit on to rest. It's a very well maintained trail that smells like freshly cut wood chips, and has a nice variety of terrain. I didn't see any dog poop (it's a no-dog park) and no litter at all, which the multiple trash cans around the loop definitely help with. While a good portion of the trail has the wood chips, some areas could use a bit more. After rain, a few spots can get muddy and it can get a little marshy in the grassy part where there is no trail. The outer loop is about 1.2 miles, and there are several spots where the trail branches off. There's a more "woody" section and a more "grassland" section, which keeps it interesting. It's also not hard to find parking at the church across the street. There's a lot of birds chirping and tons of squirrels and bunnies, and every once in a while you'll spot deer. Inside the barn fence there are lambs and sometimes horses, which is a nice touch. Also kind of cool is that there are wild chive plants around this trail which is common in the Pittsburgh area, and you'll find some growing in the park if you know what to look for.

The old house, and farm are really special, and I am so glad that the Upper St. Clair Historical Society maintains these buildings and property so we can occasionally get to visit and see how things used to be. Today they had all kinds of activities going on, from hayrides, petting zoo, sheep shearing, cow milking, yarn spinning, beekeeping, and of course tours of the historic house, barn and outbuildings, all of which are like a museum. When we arrived at the meeting to sign the new contract she announced she was dropping us as clients because "people like us" are red flags. We had been working together for months and this was just a few weeks before my wedding. Certainly there are more tactful ways for a business professional to handle herself. Blessing in disguise, Jo Schulman was a fantastic wedding coordinator and we found Leon, a more creative florist who charged $20 less per centerpiece and used more expensive, rarer flowers. I've remained friends with them and other vendors of mine and continue to be pleased to send business their way.
