It's part game, part holiday movie, and all-around magical. From their website: "Deck the Holograms is a family-friendly augmented reality adventure that transports you inside a life-sized holographic North Pole...an unforgettable shared experience for families, friends, and believers of all ages." Yup, it's exactly that -- and it totally lives up to the hype. We did the experience as a pair, and it was so much fun together. Plus, we got 3 hours of free arcade play included with our tickets for $34.99 per person, which honestly feels like a steal. We even spent a little time in the arcade before jumping into the AR adventure, which was a nice warm-up. The story itself was surprisingly thoughtful -- it made us reflect on being present in the moment during the holidays instead of getting lost in our phones. It's playful, immersive, and yes, totally enjoyable for 40+ year olds too. Plenty of parking, plenty of space to move around, and the whole experience is cozy and warm inside -- perfect for a chilly December night. We booked our tickets from the parking lot on the last Friday before Christmas and had no trouble snagging the 8pm time slot we wanted. Overall, it's a low-impact, warm, immersive, and joyful way to celebrate the season. They offer finger foods like pizza, wings, and mozzarella sticks. You can have a party in their party rooms. The party rooms are time limited (about two hours or less), and while the staff isn't rude, they do come in frequently to remind you how much time is left. It makes the transition feel a little rushed. Once your time is up, you're kindly moved out. There is seating outside the party rooms, but there aren't enough tables to comfortably accommodate everyone. They do have lockers for your belongings, a small arcade area, and separate trampoline sections based on age, which is a big plus for safety. The food was average at best. The pizza wasn't great, and the mozzarella sticks were just okay like pre- frozen. Another downside is the parking lot. The plaza also has a Chuck E. Cheese, a nail spa, and an Olive Garden, so parking can be pretty chaotic especially on weekends when birthday parties are happening everywhere. Overall, it's fine if you just want to bring kids to jump and burn energy. Personally, I wouldn't choose it as a party venue because the time feels limited and rushed. Would I attend another party there? Probably. But once the two hours are up, I'm heading out.

The laser tag arena is the main focus. Some of the rules have changed, but the basics remain. It didn't take long for me to recall the do's and don't and enjoy the 15 minute sessions. At some point after my high school days, it seems they acquired the place next store and expanded their arcade portion. I think they had a fighting game or two way back. Now they have a wide selection of games which generate tickets which you can trade for prizes. Not really my thing, but certainly one way to keep folks busy while waiting for the next game.
