It's great that they been able to save so many animals. And anyone can help out by donating to this organization. Note - It's also important to mention that they do not accept domestic animals or animals surrendered by their owners at this sanctuary.

Dan beat me to the first review!…read more Our vegetarian meet up group just got back from a wonderful tour of Chenoa Manor. It's truly amazing, the dedication and work that the owner and volunteers put into the place. Getting to see the animals graze freely and happily is wonderful, and I especially loved hearing the stories of the animals on the sanctuary. We were lucky enough to visit with a goat and two rams who wanted nothing more than pets and head scratches. The pigs were also entertaining as they rubbed against the fence trying to reach an itch. Other animals who call Chenoa home include: cows, tortoises, turkeys, geese, rabbits, llamas, chickens, mules, horses, parrots, dogs, and an extremely friendly cat. Chenoa also runs a youth program, allowing for high schoolers to spend time working on the farm and tending to the animals. A visit to Chenoa definitely displays the interconnection between species. Getting to be up close with the animals, it's clear that there isn't much of a difference between farm animals and the dog or cat that you call your pet. Whether vegetarian, vegan, or carnist, I recommend visiting the farm during their next tour, or donating if you're able. I had a lovely time, and I will be coming back in the future and bringing others with me.

It was cute but challenging for them, and held everyone's attention. They did the group parachute at the end and the kids had a ball! Parents had three viewing areas that allowed us to see everything. Party room doubled as a dance studio, and was a great size for the group. Everything went smoothly. No assistance for the party hosts with gifts, food or set-up, but I think that's just the style of the offering here. If you're hands-on you're fine (and our hosts were awesome at that). Only con was we were mid-way through the departure of guests at the end, and all other gymnasts and every staff member were already gone. Just felt odd, like empty and rushed out. I guess they know and trust our hosts to clean up and door locks behind them, or maybe someone was still there in a back office or something, but it just seemed odd to be there with everything else closed. All in all it was a great experience, and the staff led the kids really well with the party activities. They had enough spotters for young kids, and were being very safety-conscious. Good energy too!

With scenic walking trails, an outdoor classroom, day camps and a small indoor animal habitat, Briar Bush is a great spot for small children, couples on a date, or anyone looking for a brief respite from the urgency of the modern world. With free admission for locals and a small fee for out-of-towners, the preserve is accessible to all patrons provided that they are able to walk down some wooded trails that circle through the admittedly short walking routes. The centerpiece of the trails is a picturesque, secluded pond with benches for sitting and an interactive sign with information on the local fauna and flora. The indoor animal habitat has a small gift shop, pamphlets on upcoming events and information on other parks in the area, and several interesting animals such as a blind possum named Odin, a bearded lizard named Karl, and several other unique turtles and reptiles. All of Briar Bush can be walked through in an hour or so, but the low admission, interactive nature events and scenic walking trails will have you wanting to return again soon.
