Such a cute, cozy and fun place for young kids to play! I went with my daughter and grandsons (two toddlers and an infant) and we had a great time. I work full time and I don't get to do that kind of thing with them very often, so I really enjoyed it. Everything was clean and well taken care of and the boys had a great time playing with all the different toys. I especially loved the murals on the walls and the clouds and whatnot hanging from the ceiling. I spoke briefly to the owner and she seemed really sweet. She even has babysitting services there which my daughter would take advantage of if it were closer to home. Overall, it is just a great little place for kids to play.

We visited for the first time today with our 20-month-old toddler and he absolutely loved it! I think it was the perfect size--not too big, not too small. You could sit and relax and see your child from anywhere. It also wasn't too packed since they require reservations. Lots of natural lighting as well since one of the walls is mostly windows. So many toys & play areas to keep the little ones occupied!

The bad: The steps are very steep on the way down to the playroom and the staff was not overly friendly or informative even when I tried to engage them. I asked a question and I was completely blown off when the phone rang. A paying customer in person speaking to you takes precedence over a ringing phone. At the very least, you ask the person you're speaking with in person to hold one moment while you get the phone call. Nope, she ignored me and got on the phone and then didn't regard me again. At $65 a month, I find the monthly fee to be a bit more pricey than most local play rooms. I didn't see the prices posted anywhere which meant I had to interact with the lady at the front desk who didn't seem interested in interacting at all. The good: The patrons were lovely and kind. The place space is very well decorated, super cute, clean, spacious, and has ample comfortable seating for parents. there are a lot of different activities to keep kids busy. I was there during the holiday season and there was a station to write letters to Santa and a mailbox to put them in, a very cute touch. there are large cubbies to keep shoes and jackets well organized. Overall it was a good experience but mostly because I met really nice patrons who were friendly and sweet to my kids.

The space is absolutely adorable he decorated and is pristine, so clean and so well organized. It has been a welcome respite during all of 2020 with an hour three and a five-year-old and such a happy place for them! They also develop new discoveries for the space so we love the wall that changes color! Highly recommend

Having so much fun @ Charming Star Playroom!

There were fresh strawberries and bananas ...French toast sampler over-the-top carb indulgence was yummy...fresh ....kinda home cooked vibe . So rather than their week at NJ shore, the crowd beat it to Apple Walnut. Took a little over 10min to be seated, so not terrible, but this was at the very tail end of service. I was born with an intermittent fasting stomach; I've never been a breakfast-eater and brunch is gross to me! I mention this because I've never taken my son out for breakfast foods so it was great to have this experience. My little one had a HUGE "Go Go Bananas" It said it was "hot cakes stuffed with Bananas" but they were just plain. It mentioned caramel on top which wasn't there (they subbed syrup without asking); frustrating and unprofessional. It also had a slice of poundcake French Toast topped with grilled bananas, and then banana French Toast with granola. It was a decadent treat of gluten and sugar that we don't normally eat at home. My son was really happy. My burger was okay but not memorable, and the fries were that awful batter-dipped cheap kind that I don't eat and they just made the whole thing "mid" as the kids say. Service was very very slow per the crowd and it being the end of the shift. Our server was cheerful and I told her to take her time, but I didn't realize we'd be left waiting forever for water refills, 30min for food (kitchen's fault), and at least 10min after asking for check. I still tipped well over 20% but their staff seems too spent and overwhelmed from the crazy crowds that are so unusual this time of year. In summary, it was great for decadent breakfast foods, diner-quality for my burger, and while I understand how taxed our server was, the service really dragged. I had seen reviews commenting on the wait but do beware that it's still suuuper bad apparently at all times of their hours, and even random weekdays when people are enduring their Trump staycations. I rate it a 3 but my son was so happy with his food so I rounded up.

I was the only individual that wasn't recognized as a regular yet the cozy charm was still imbued amongst the service I received and I was still greeted enthusiastically. ENVIRONMENT Cute and cozy are the first words that come to mind when walking into the breakfast nook. The environment can best be described as the dining room of a cottage. There was ample seating and a sense of familiarity that instantly makes you feel at home. FOOD Bomb coffee!!!! I have to start there. While I was waiting for my food I heard several quips amongst the regulars about the quality of the coffee and I decided to take the dive myself. I was NOT disappointed. The other standouts were the turkey sausage and THE PANCAKES. There's no shortage of breakfast spots along Mainline both commercial and locally owned. Julie Anne's stands out for the warm environment and well-made comfort food. Happy eats!
