Visited from out of state and was very impressed with this play space. I brought my 11 month old and she was able to play and explore without fear of being run over by big kids. There's so many toys, activity areas and sensory stimulators. The space was clean and parents keep attentive eyes on their own littles. They offer coffee to parents and have tables and high chairs for kids to eat food brought from home. No snacks provided there. read more

This obviously is not the business' fault but the women responsible for the children. First I would like to say I have taken my children here about four times and we have always had a great experience until today! I think it should be mandatory that you must be on the play floor with your children while visiting CSP!! Today, myself and my three children visited CSP . As we were walking in a lady walked in before us with a child probably five or six years old. They met another woman there with her daughter who was probably five or six also. I noticed right away that the two women sat down at a table in the snacking area. Myself and my children were there for exactly 1 hour and 20 minutes before we left. Not one time did either of these ladies get up and come on the play floor to watch their children or even to look over and see what their children were doing. Now I know this because I was watching them as I watched these two little girls bully my three-year-old son. Repeatedly, I said loudly to my son " hey come play over here " "hey stay away from those girls " "their being mean they don't want to play get away from them" loud enough so that it would catch the attention of the parents!! NOTHING eyes glued to their phones or in deep conversations with eachother. As if this was a daycare! My son would try to play with them and they'd get " no get away from us " "go away" "go away we don't want to play with you" "stop get out" even to the point where the one little girl grabbed my son's hands and pushed his hands off of toys! I told her to keep her hands to herself! This same little girl grabbed one of the soft play squares and pushed my two-year-old daughter down the step of the ball pit!!! I hope there's cameras so the owners can see this!! Even after all of this my son would not stop trying to play with them! The last time he went up to play with them I heard them both saying to my son get away, we don't want you here. We don't wanna play with you! I took it upon myself to go up to the parents.! What else was I supposed to do at this point leave?? These little girls are being mean now my children have to leave? No absolutely not so I tell the parents I said hey are these your girls? They both got up and said yes and I said they are being very mean to my three-year-old son ! We walk over to the girls the girls say to them that my son is calling them mean words! Meanwhile, we just left IVY REHAB for kids because my son is currently in speech therapy and probably says about five words which none of them are mean! The women say to the little girls "let him play with you" then they walk away and sit back down! Still not watching your children absolutely insane!!!!!!! after a woman comes up to you telling you that your children are being mean you would think that you would keep an eye on them, right??? At that point, I knew that we had to leave I could not sit there and continue to let these little girls pick on my son because that's exactly what was going to happen because the parents were not watching them whatsoever ! I understand they don't have to play with my son. That's completely fine but being mean is totally a different story. As a parent, this is extremely heartbreaking. DO BETTER WATCH YOUR CHILDREN ! This isn't a drop off so you can sit on your phone for almost an hour and a half! read more

Today was our first visit here. The play space is nestled in a business plaza, parking out front is limited. To enter you have to traverse a steep set of stairs, I recommend carrying your little ones down. I let my little guy walk back up (with supervision of course). Once you are half way down the stairs you can see the amble sized play space. There are ball pits, slides, playhouses, foam blocks, ride on toys and rockers, train table, blocks...a nice array of toys for your little one to play with. The space is clean and toys are in good condition. They have cubbies for your belongings and a few tables lined along the wall to sit and have a bite. Such a cute, cozy and fun place for young kids to play! I went with my daughter and grandsons (two toddlers and an infant) and we had a great time. I work full time and I don't get to do that kind of thing with them very often, so I really enjoyed it. Everything was clean and well taken care of and the boys had a great time playing with all the different toys. I especially loved the murals on the walls and the clouds and whatnot hanging from the ceiling. I spoke briefly to the owner and she seemed really sweet. She even has babysitting services there which my daughter would take advantage of if it were closer to home. Overall, it is just a great little place for kids to play. read more

We visited for the first time today with our 20-month-old toddler and he absolutely loved it! I think it was the perfect size--not too big, not too small. You could sit and relax and see your child from anywhere. It also wasn't too packed since they require reservations. Lots of natural lighting as well since one of the walls is mostly windows. The bad: The steps are very steep on the way down to the playroom and the staff was not overly friendly or informative even when I tried to engage them. I asked a question and I was completely blown off when the phone rang. A paying customer in person speaking to you takes precedence over a ringing phone. At the very least, you ask the person you're speaking with in person to hold one moment while you get the phone call. Nope, she ignored me and got on the phone and then didn't regard me again. At $65 a month, I find the monthly fee to be a bit more pricey than most local play rooms. I didn't see the prices posted anywhere which meant I had to interact with the lady at the front desk who didn't seem interested in interacting at all. The good: The patrons were lovely and kind. The place space is very well decorated, super cute, clean, spacious, and has ample comfortable seating for parents. there are a lot of different activities to keep kids busy. I was there during the holiday season and there was a station to write letters to Santa and a mailbox to put them in, a very cute touch. there are large cubbies to keep shoes and jackets well organized. Overall it was a good experience but mostly because I met really nice patrons who were friendly and sweet to my kids. read more

We drive past this cute playroom daily. We finally stopped in yesterday morning (a busy Saturday) for about an hour of playtime and so our 2 year old son could socialize. I'm so glad we stopped. The playroom is very well stocked with two ball pits, slides, toys, etc. Our son enjoyed every second. The best part is the coffee for adults, beverages for kids/adults and snacks for purchase. The even better part, the facility is incredibly clean and neat! It is very well taken care of and has a lot of appropriately aged toys and games to promote fun as well as learning. Also, all parents and kids we encountered were super friendly! We're planning on potentially holding our sons 3rd birthday here as well. I highly recommend for families with young kids! read more

We have loved this playroom since the day that it opened. We moved back into the area just before Charming Star opened its doors and we were over the moon when they did! We have since had both of our kids' joint birthday parties here and have been countless times for pizza Friday nights, holiday parties, and general patronage. We absolutely adore this kid friendly, always clean play area. The owners are beyond personable and approachable! Not only have we brought many friends & family here, we would absolutely be their reference call if they needed one lol. I took my daughter (19 months) and little boy I nanny (13 months) and they both had a BLAST! It was a great way to beat the heat. Everyone was respectful and fun to be around. I liked that there were snacks provided as well. Even more profound, there was a highchair in the bathroom so I didn't have to hold a child or have them on the floor while I used the bathroom myself. I have frequented many "playrooms" over the years along the mainline with my daughters. I have seen some close sadly and was disappointed with another in terms of cleanliness. I can assure you charming star playroom is the absolutely cleanest playroom ever! I was incredibly impressed w the staff and their cleaning throughout my visit as well as the overall layout, I was able to keep an eye on both of my girls at all times even though they were on separate places in the playroom. With 4 children under the age of 5, I have been to every playroom in the Philadelphia area and Charming Star is indeed the best! The workers are personable and helpful. The owner is constantly on her feet to make sure that the place is unkempt and germ free! My twins were cranky at first and she even put on the bubble machine to cheer them up! read more
