Do not ever come here. The place is filthy. Most of the workers are surly and unpleasant. The person who did my dipping powder manicure had no clue - my nails were uneven, and chipped within days. I wish I could leave zero stars for my bloody toe. My wife and I decided to get pedicures while walking through the mall. My nail girl was very rushed and aggressive and cut my nails way too short. She cut my pinkie toe with the clippers and then filed the cut. Ouch!! She wanted to continue but I told her not to touch me again. We walked out but not before I let everyone know how unhappy I was! If you value your limbs do not go here. I signed myself up for a gel mani pedi. The pedi was given by an under qualified young woman. The color I requested from the sample was light neutral pink, much different than the bright color that came from the bottle. I asked for a new color. A tan- which turned out to be clear once produced from the bottle. A hair was somehow imbedded in my manicure. $65 dollars later have a clear coat on top of nails that went up filed. If my cuticles you talk would describe their experience as confusing. The manicurist clearly took an abstract approach nail painting. The good news? Cvs is just down the road. I normally don't post reviews (I just read them) but I am still so boiling mad even after a week has passed since my gel mani-pedi at Elegant Nails. DO NOT give this place your business. You will be extremely dissapointed! It's not worth it! My experience: I was in a huge pinch and had about three hours to get ready for an event downtown and I was super limited to nail salons in close proximity. I end up at Elegant Nails and they are able to see me pretty quickly. I sit at one of the pedicure stations where the water was already drawn and murky looking. I swear, they were reusing the water from a previous client. The woman could not get the temp right. It went from frigid to scalding hot every other minute. I had to tell her five times to use the right polish color. The pedi was tolerable but definitely not ideal. I questioned the cleanliness of EVERYTHING after the murky water. If you look around there, the clients are mostly elderly. Raise your standards ladies!!!!! There are way better, cleaner places!!! Anyway, I sit down for the manicure and she hastily cuts my cuticles and barely looks at my nails when applying polish. I'm telling you... SO BAD. The Polish was uneven in some places but at the time, tolerable. I was in a hurry for my event but still expected decent service and a gel mani-pedi that lasted at least two weeks. WRONG. $65 later, my nails look okay. By day two everything was already peeling and my cuticles were also peeling and cracking. The whole thing just pisses me off and I really feel like people should know how terrible this place is. They will continue to stay open and do well because they have this elderly clientele that probably enjoys the community they feel while they are there. I was happy here at first. Slowly, I began to notice things I didn't like: My gel and shellac nails barely lasted 2 wks and looked bad at 10 days. The last time they didn't last a week. My technician answered all incoming phone calls, made appts, and greeted walk ins as she did my nails. The same files, etc. are used for each customer. Technicians carried on constant conversations in their own language as if no one else is present. Appointments can be made, but might or might not be honored. This salon is much closer to my home than any other. I'm giving up that convenience. read more

For some reason, I decided to give this nail salon another chance. I had an okay experience with my pedicure the last time I went in and figured it was a safe bet. Boy, oh boy, was I wrong. I walked in and was sat in a chair to soak almost immediately. The person that came in after me was given a wait time of 30 minutes, so I thought I had made it just in time. Ten minutes later someone sat down to start my pedicure. Not a moment later a woman walked in and announced that she had an appointment with the technician that had just sat down to start with me. She got up and walked over without telling me what was going on and started on this other woman. I waited for 20 minutes in the water before anyone even acknowledged me. I get that I'm young, but that doesn't mean I'm any less deserving of respect. The technician that finally joined me was slow and did a sloppy job with my nails. She didn't buff or file them properly. That is seriously one of the most vital steps in the process. My toe nails ended up looking like jagged talons. I went over to pay and then asked for some acetone so I could remove the nail polish (so I could later re-file my nails.) They made a HUGE deal out of this and insisted I let them "fix'' whatever my "problem" was. I told them that my nails were unevenly filed (if at all) and they sat me down in the chair to help me. I told her I would be okay with just having them filed like they were supposed to be in the first place. She cut them, barely made any effort to file them, and asked me over and over again if I wanted polish even though I kept saying no. The whole process ended up taking at least an hour altogether just to fix the issues I ran into and even then I wasn't fully satisfied with the results. I still have to fix my right big toe nail because it is so asymmetric. This salon is still just as unsanitary as the other reviewers have said in the past. I would not be shocked to hear that they haven't read any of these reviews. I will never recommend this salon to anyone. read more

Terrible. I went in for a pedi as I was in sante fe for a weekend getaway and was desperate for a fresh pedi. This was the only place open on sunday. The polish selection was horrible, no OPI or Essie, only brands I never heard of. It was messy, too warm in there, no magazines to read. As the tech cut my nails I was very afraid she was going to hurt me with those nippers on the corners of my big toe. She would grasp and twist then cut. The nail file was about dead, no grain left on it to work. The foot and leg massage terrible. The polish looked lumpy, many sides of nails not covered in polish. She poured acetone in the topcoat. When she was done she just walked away, no quick dry spray or anything. I had to ask if she was finished after I sat there for 5 minutes. Don't go here, you will not be relaxed or pleased with results. The worst pedi experience ever hands down. read more

Went in for a gel pedicure. I had already had gel on from a previous pedicure and normally have it soaked off, as is normal procedure. But no, not at Elegant Nails. They used a BLACK AND DECKER mini handheld saw. Immediately I withdrew my foot from the technician's hands and refused to let him use that on me. After refusing and tell him to soak the polish off, things seemed to be better. At this point, however, the salon became quite busy and more women came in for pedicures. Instead of having them wait, they made me move to the hand station and the technician sat on the floor while painting my nails there. It was extremely awkward. I felt swindled (admittedly, I mostly wanted to sit in the massage chair a little longer) and like my business wasn't appreciated. I'll never return to Elegant Nails. read more

I was in Santa Fe for my birthday and wanted to get a manicure and pedicure. We found this on google maps and went to get out nails done. The pedicure was simply amazing. The best I've had in a long time. The shellac, however, was the worse I've ever had. They do not allow the correct time to dry, so my nails chipped the very next day. If I wouldn't have already been in Denver, I would have gone back and made them fix it. By 3 days after this, all my shellac was chipped or peeling off. Worse nail salon ever. I went with my cousin, she for a pedicure and I for both a mani/pedi. My technician talked on a phone for the massage part of my manicure, holding the phone with one hand and giving me a one-handed massage with the other. She did not bother to remove all of my old polish, it went on unevenly with little bumps and bubbles and carelessly splashed on my cuticles as well. All our fingers and toenails were left ragged and uneven and the polish began peeling the next day because they don't clean off the lotion thoroughly before applying polish. My nails are still sore five hours later. My manicurist was so aggressive with my nails. My. cuticles bled a little. My acrylics have lumps and dents in them and are uneven shapes. Time will tell if they will stay on or not but i'm seriously considering having them fixed somewhere else. New to area, closest and most convenient. Yet harsh and has such a thriving business they don't care if they have repeats or not. I arrived at opening and the one tech told me she was only one and I was to walk around 30 mins come back. 20 mins later I returned to a row full of customers and techs. Sat in chair for pedi for 25 mins before beginning. Then whole mani pedi took about 60 mins. After drying my pedi needed to be wrapped for my shoes. I asked for Saran Wrap, was told by one tech "we no have that". Then guy came out I asked him the same and he returned with a large roll of Saran Wrap. So you only get the service that they may be in the mood to give. I will continue my search for a mani pedi place. read more

First time I got Ombre Nails! I usually get a neutral French manicure with a sublime hint of glitter, but I had to refill my nails and I thought I tried these, I absolutely love them! Elegant Nails do a fabulous job and you always leave looking like a million bucks ALTHOUGH the process can be an energy sucking pain on your booty ( and not a good one) affair. First of all the language barrier is expected,then the lost in mask translation can be obnoxious but when you have to argue with the nail technician about what color you want and between next we do it next time, I'm like no we can do it this time (which they could) then they know what's best and dare you ask for a second top coat you might as well asked for the remains of master Buddha. Then of course the whole gang chimes in with dirty looks and snyde Vietnamese remarks. The interesting thing was a previous visit with them was a young man was doing my acrylics and all he was saying that in his experience in his country was that trans people's life weren't as long and that at some point they started to see dead people, so is it really worth it to be passively aggressively insulted just to get good nails? Well I should have trusted the yelp review and RUN but accompanying my daughter in law we decided to make it work as it was close and she had been there before. My manicurist, the inexperienced son of the manager, cut my cuticle and 4 days later it is just starting to heal. Guess he was wondering how to deal with all the blood so his mother the manager took over to paint my nails. She was marginal to say the least and as I was getting to the drying table one of my nails got a boo-boo with the wet polish. I asked for help and she rudely brushed a little top coat on and didn't bother to repair the polish. I was delighted to exit the place but called the manager the next day to tell her of my unpleasant experience and that I would be leaving this review. She said "sorry about that". We arrived on time and they started with 2 of them and left me waiting, while taking other walk-ins before me. After 50 minutes of waiting for MY APPOINTMENT I left. I've been coming here for over a year. Last time I was there I was introduced to GEL manicure. I needed a nice bright orange color. Mimi picked out a great orange slightly lighter than my toes and told me the polish would last for 2 weeks without chipping. So I gave it a test. She was right! The polish kept on going. I rode my mountain bike and unfortunately I met a rock that I did not get along with and did an endo over the handle bars. Luckily I was Ok - just some scrapes and scratches. I had to remove my nail polish when I got home because it looked so bad - on cuticles and uneven - and was not dry 30 minutes after being painted, probably because of the low quality polish used and the lack of UV lights to dry. Only tool sanitizer I saw was being used as a magazine stand. Floors were less than clean, and customers had to ask for paper slippers to wear. Get your nails done in Albuquerque. I hope the owner takes my criticism as it intended. They seem to have a good business but could be better in MANY ways. The owner orders both customers and her techs around like a drill sergeant. I have never seen such a disorganized business especially one which essentially is in the business of pampering and providing a pleasant atmosphere. I had a mani-pedi and was quite happy with the first tech, then was suddenly switched to another for the manicure who was trying to take care of two of us at once while intermittently eating cherries and spitting out the seeds. For some reason I came into this nail salon that I have avoided for my whole life living in Santa Fe, I couldn't tell you why...actually no I can tell you why. I wanted a QUICK gel polish on my fingers. I get manicures with gel regularly and love them (regularly). I came in on my lunch break, ended up waiting about 30 minutes when I was told 5 to begin with. Sat down, and I told the owner (I assume) that I already filed them how I wanted and all I wanted was the polish. She did not buff my nails before applying the first layer of gel, did a horrible sloppy job on the rest of my nails, and left them totally bubbled. By the end of the day one of them was already starting to lift, and a day later the polish completely came off of one of my fingers (I believe because she didn't buff before starting) and another day later another one came of. This place is gross, not clean, and I would not recommend it. Hate to be harsh, but I'll stick with what I know. read more

I tried to like it, but for the second time I just got mad. My daughter (10 yrs) had an ok pedi-mani, but mine was very lame. "Tina" had zero, I mean ZERO communication skills, so I couldn't ask for anything. Her skill level was low, she got polish on the skin around my toes and didn't understand or see that it needed to be removed until I asked and pointed it out about 10 times. Then my gel manicure was completely without adherence to the correct process, nor was the light even working properly. It's globby, thick, and I know it will peel within a few days, because she got the polish, again, on my skin and that always make a gel manicure peel. She didn't notice that little cotton fibers were stuck to the filed end of my nails, nor did she smooth them properly until, again, I pointed it out. Never again. There was one nice guy working there, with my daughter, but otherwise a lot of yelling women, and mine who was quiet, but untalented.
