Our neighborhood FB page recommended Elegant Alternatives so I thought I'd give them a try. I took in a pair of pants that needed the waist taken in and a dress that needed some bodice alterations. I took these in March 31st and set a pick up date for April14. When I arrived to pick them up around 10:30 the morning of April 14, I was told my dress is ready but not the pants!!!. I told her I need the pants for a trip I'm leaving for on the 15th. She said she could have them ready in about 30 minutes!! So I waited and about 20 minutes later she had my pants. It irritates the crap out of me when I has a pick up date and it's 2 weeks out and you don't have my clothes ready!!! Was not a happy camper. She did do a good job!! read more

Had a fashion emergency at work involving yet another ripped inseam on my suit pants. Hoping to not give a free show to my co-workers, I looked for the closest tailor and Elegant Reflections popped up. I explained my situation and they graciously agreed to let me walk in without an appointment. 10 minutes later, my easy access pants are no longer easy access pants. I am restored to my former glory; my honor intact. My coworkers are grateful, their innocent minds saved from a horror they never had to see. This time is somewhat bittersweet. I like to think the best of people and I genuinely don't like writing negative reviews, but I cannot in good conscience recommend anybody use Elegant Reflections Alterations. A friend of mine used Elegant Reflections and had such a good (initial) experience that they recommended it to my fiancé who also used Elegant Reflections. They ended up being late for my friend's dress and claimed at one of their later appointments that she had gained too much weight for her dress (she hadn't) and augmented the bustier to have horrid points like Madonna. They did eventually correct their issues to a point where she was pleased, but only received her dress the WEEKEND before her wedding. My fiancé had five appointments with them, starting in June/July. On the first appointment, all was good. On the second appointment one week later, they claimed she had lost too much weight to make whatever alterations they had done obsolete. I don't know anybody who can lose so much weight in seven days to negate alterations of any sort. This was the last time they touched the dress until October. At their third appointment, it had the same exact marks and pins as it did in the previous appointment. She had also provided a third-party addition to the dress which they had lost in the back and had to confirm it was the right one before finally pairing it with the dress. On the fourth appointment, which was supposed to be the final appointment, it looked virtually the same as it did after the second appointment. It had not received one alteration. They use a ticket number system and claimed that the numbers just got confused. A simple mistake, sure. But if we were too much later, this mistake would have been too late for our wedding. She picked it up this past Saturday, twenty-one days late and $150 more than they initially agreed upon. There are dozens of alternatives in the Valley, and I would highly recommend that anyone considering using this place consider another option. read more

I came in here a few times before leaving the Phoenix area for some repairs and also an alteration. The shop is easy to find and the inside spacious with lots of gowns for purchase and other fun accessories. Everyone who has helped me was always very friendly and pleasant. Unless someone was in getting an alteration and being pinned, I was always helped promptly. I had some pants repaired and a dress altered. The dress looked really nice and the pants were mostly repaired, one hole had been missed (this is understandable as there were several) and they offered to get it repaired for me immediately. The alterations were affordable and the work was done well. I'd definitely reccommend trying this place if you need either some alterations, repairs, or even if you are looking for a unique gown for something. read more

I first came to this establishment over a decade ago to have my prom dress custom made - now that sounds ridiculous to say but it was actually more cost effective at the time then it was to even buy one!! Yes, yes, yes! Everyone of the ladies that work here are beyond professional and know their stuff. I am new to this whole wedding thing and thought I would go in and do a quick alteration to the dress and just be finished. Boy, was I in for a surprise when I called in to make my appointment and the lady on the phone said "oh hun, you need do start doing a dress fitting like 3 months prior". WHAT! No need to worry. I made a mistake bringing my wedding dress here. It was a $1500 Wtoo Opaline gown. During alterations they somehow but a line of snags all across the bottom front of my dress and tried claiming it was like that when I brought it in. I have pictures from when I first bought the dress so I know for a fact that was not true and I have proof. Then they did not alter the bust/straps of my gown correctly so almost as soon as the reception started the straps had to be pinned together in the back to keep my breasts from showing. The pins used were completely visible in our wedding photos because my hair was in an updo. I had wanted to possibly sell my dress after my wedding and because of the line of snags no longer feel that I can. I should have trusted a more professional establishment with a dress that expensive. read more

I cant say enough good things about my experience here. They took a horrible A Line wedding dress (Didn't get what I expected) and turned it into a mermaid dress that fit me perfectly! I am 5'0", so I require a lot of alterations and it is essential that I have a good alteration service. I will never go anywhere other than Elegant Reflections for my tailoring services. I have had innumerable pairs of pants hemmed here and have been completely satisfied. They have nice private dressing rooms with real doors (I refuse to undress behind nothing more than a curtain), everyone on staff is competent and very friendly, the prices are reasonable, and they are almost always able to complete your alterations in less than a week. I have only ever encountered one issue..when I had two pair of very thick trousers hemmed with a cuff at the bottom, the cuff seemed loose. Since I didn't want it to get caught on something and come apart, I took them back to be adjusted. The second alteration was done in just a couple days (in winter, which tends to be a busy busy time for them) and the new stitching was nearly indestructible! The staff here also seems to have an exceptional memory, because even after a year hiatus- they greeted me by name! read more

One star for unprofessional business relations: they treat my husband sweetly but me, I get full charges and extra fees. We had originally visited because my husband had wanted a favorite football jersey altered to fit better. It came out wonderfully, so he brought in 12 dress shirts to be altered as well. When we came back to pick them up, they were not ready, only some of them were; they said they needed another week. I returned today to pick up the rest and there was no discount for them not having been ready as promised. On top of that, she charged me a fee for using my bank card, which was never charged to my husband when he paid the previous times, which I felt jilted on to say the least. I took some men's dress shirts here about two years ago to have them altered, and they turned out perfect.
