These ladies are the absolute best ever! I was overwhelmed with the number of wedding dresses available in the store and had no idea where to start and I had no idea what I wanted so I let the manager choose the dresses for me and the manager found the perfect dress for me! I am over 50, a widow, and this will be my second marriage. I was in shock when I paid because the dress looks brand new and would cost well over a grand because I walked out of there with a stunning long dress and shoes for a tiny fraction of the cost anywhere else. These ladies do this for a living- helping brides choose dresses - and they are masters at it! I would tell every bride - go to Elegant Repeats first! To be honest, I did not walk into the shop with the intention of buying my wedding dress. My bridesmaid and I were shopping for my wedding dress in the Cedar Rapids area when we saw the sign for Elegant Repeats. We thought it would be fun to take a break and try on some fun second-hand dresses from the eighties or nineties just for kicks. That is not at all what we found! ER has an awesome selection of current and in-style dresses. I am a size 10-12 in regular women's clothing and prior to coming in I was having a really hard time at bridal boutiques who treat you like crap if you aren't a size 2. ER had MULTIPLE dresses in my size to try on. It was a dream to be able to try on gowns without having to feel bad about being so large. The associate (Mariyea I think) was so sweet and patient. I really felt like she was invested in helping me find the perfect dress. I ended up finding exactly what I was looking for in a dress that already fit me perfectly (it just required one small alteration--to be taken in at the bust slightly). I found my dream gown at $800 underbudget and I got to take it home that day. Realistically, not everyone is going to find their dream gown here because it's consignment and they have what they have. This store & its staff are amazing! The selection was so varied and beautiful. The staff... LOVED them! They were so kind and helpful. I hate shopping so much but I just had an enjoyable time shopping here. I found my mother of the bride 's dress & matching jewelry! Just recently I ordered some dresses from the store Elegant Repeats in Cedar Rapids, Iowa and came across a snag with the owner of the store who wouldn't admit to a mistake on her part. We had one of my bridesmaids, Maggie Otten, try on a dress that was a size eight to see how it was going to fit on her and how the style was going to look like on her form. We liked the dress and when we were in the process of Maggie getting her measurements done, the owner said that my friend Maggie needed a size two dress. Now, myself and another bridesmaid, Kathy Jessen, heard my friend Maggie say that she needed a size three or four dress do to her rib cage size and her hips. The owner told Maggie that she needed a size 2 and wrote down all of the incorrect measurements, which we put our trust into her hoping that she wrote down the correct ones, and sent out the order. My mother, my sister (Sarah), Kathy and I went and picked up the dresses (so we got more than one here) and had my sister and Kathy try on their dresses. My sister's dress fitted her well and so did Kathy's, but when we took the dress to Maggie, her dress did NOT fit her at all. The underskirt part was too tight and we could barely get it over her hips and the midsection of the dress was so tight that it was hurting her rib cage. We the called Elegant Repeats to tell them of our situation and they told us that she must have gained weight and her hips and ribs expanded. They also tried telling us that she tried on a size two dress instead of a size five when we have witnesses to say that she did try on the eight instead of the two. The owner continued to try and shift the blame onto us saying that it was our fault and that they would not exchange the dress and that they couldn't order a new dress from the company. They gave me no reason on why they couldn't order us a new dress but that they would be more than happy to sell us another size two dress or a dress that was a size eight my bridesmaid. The service that we recieved so far was very poor and treated another one of my bridesmaids, Alyssa Kritz, very poorly by saying that without a ring or a marriage date, that she couldn't try on wedding dresses. Who has their wedding date already planned when the future husband hasn't had enough time to think about it? They refused to let her try on dresses and then mentioned to me on a later date that they didn't service woman that were on the "fat side", my friend having a sixty six inch waist. Their service is very poor and when I get the rest of my dresses from them, still have another bridesmaid dress, flower girl dress, and ring carrier dress, I will no longer be asking them of their service. Plus, apparently if you make a full purchase on someone's credit card (I used my fiance's since I don't use them), they don't care whose card you use. read more

Don't over look this place! After having no luck at other places around eastern Iowa, I found my perfect bridal gown! I was surprised when I walked in there, they have a little bit of everything. All their bridal gowns are reasonably priced. You do not need an appointment to look around either. They have pre-loved gowns and also dresses that can be ordered. I came into the store during a December blizzard, so I got the full attention of all of the staff working at the time. There is a great selection for the size of the store and I found my dream wedding dress (seriously, everything I wanted) on sale for $300! I was able to rent a crinoline slip (my dress was a tulle ball gown) for a bit more. My husband also rented his tux through Elegant Repeats, and it fit him perfectly. Everyone was very helpful and accommodating. Elegant Repeats has been my go-to since high school dances, and I'm so glad they were a part of my wedding day! read more

Very rude and would not recommend anyone to go into this store. I bought a bridesmaid dress from them in December and was told that I could resell it back to them afterwards, when I went back into to do so I was told I couldn't because it was yellow and it is the hardest color to sell. The lady that told me this saw me walk all the way into the store to there desk and then had me walk all the way back to the front into a room to tell me this, and she was rude. read more

I stopped in here this afternoon to look for a bridesmaid dress for my cousin's wedding this summer. Their website said no appointments were necessary, and listed the designers they carry; I found a dress I adored and had plans to make it a short trip to the store. I received a friendly welcome upon arrival and the gal asked me all sorts of questions to help get us started in our search. They had the long version of the dress I wanted (yay!). I tried it on and loved it, but did not purchase it because the bride is still deciding on her wedding colors. The only qualm I have with my shopping experience is that I felt very rushed. (This seems to be a trend when I shop for bridal gowns and bridesmaid dresses). I was very optimistic when I first arrived and the gal was helping me find that dress I loved, but once she put me in a dressing room, it seemed things took a different turn. She answered all of my questions, but I felt as though she was waiting for me to make a decision so she could either ring me up or return to the other shoppers. The sales associates were not very distinguishable by their attire so I'm really not sure how many gals were working, but there were at least 5 other shoppers in there as well. Although their website said no appointments were necessary, I would certainly recommend scheduling one so you receive more one-on-one attention from an associate. If I were to return to the store, I would schedule an appointment or return during a week day when it is hopefully not as busy. read more

Ive shopped here multiple times, but this past weekend was the first time I went to look at formal wear. Im looking for a dress for a vow renewal for my 10 year wedding anniversary so Ive been looking at a mix of formal dresses and wedding gowns. I arrived at the store with my spouse, was not greeted or given any kind of "this is how this works here" plus there were about 10 other women shopping through the racks of formal wear and wedding dresses. I selected a few dresses that I liked and an associate asked if she could start a room for me. I said yes and thanked her and she got me in a room. I tried on a handful of gowns without any incident, the associate checking on me a few times. I then decided I would try on one wedding gown that had caught my eye. The associate helping me wasnt around so I stepped out in my street clothes and located it on the rack. I grabbed it and took it back to the fitting room I had been in. I undressed and pulled it out of the bag and held it up in front of me, realizing that it wasnt quite the size I needed, while commenting to my spouse that I was still considering an actual wedding dress for our renewal. Just then an associate (not the one that was helping originally) who must have overheard me say "wedding dress" flipped back the shower curtain that was the door to the fitting room, exposing me to everyone in the vicinity and demanded to know why I had a wedding dress. She then lectured me about the fact that the staff has to help with the wedding gowns. I was mortified, standing there in my underwear as she lectured me like a child. I apologized to her, since no one had informed me of this rule. She kept asking if I had put the dress on or not, and I said no because I realized that it wasnt going to quite fit me. She again said "You have to have a staff person help you!" I put the dress back on the hanger, got dressed and left. Never have I been treated so awfully and embarrassed so much over a simple misunderstanding of rules that were neither posted or told to me when I entered the shop. I understand their need to protect their inventory but she was completely rude and embarrassing even after I apologized. I wont shop here again, it was a terrible experience. read more

Stopped in to the store today to find a homecoming dress and had a lot to chose from! They had a lot of designer dresses too. I found a Sherri Hill dress that retailed for $350 and purchased it for $135! Good for girls who have expensive taste but can only spend so much! The staff was so friendly and helpful, too! Part of the store had really nice clothes too! Found a pair of Miss Me Jeans for $30 dollars! Also found a couple tops from express and the loft. Perfect for back to school shopping! This is probably the first time I have ever stepped into a store and felt discriminated because of my gender. I came here last Saturday with my Fiancé as she needed a new dress for an upcoming wedding, and she wanted me to come along since I have good taste when it comes to fashion and we like shopping together. The employee who assisted my Fiancé was just very rude to me making making condescending comments that I didn't appreciate and basically talked down to me the whole time. While they do offer a wide variety of selections I have to say I wasn't impressed with what they had in stock it was like 1 good design for every 20 dresses. She ended up getting a dress which I picked out, which is why this place at least gets 1 star since we found what we were looking for. In conclusion Elegant Repeats has a wide variety of clothing items to choose from, however quantity doesn't necessarily mean quality. Also given the disrespect given to me by one of the employees I cannot recommend this store. read more

I am getting married and took my mother, maid of honor, grandmother, and 3 year old son here to look for a wedding dress. We had already been to the big box wedding stores and were disappointed with how rushed and pressured we felt. Elegant Repeats was completely different. We were greeted at the door and shown around, I told her we weren't sure exactly what I wanted so she let us roam and choose dresses that suited my taste. I asked if it would be alright for my maid of honor to help me put them on and they told me of course that was no problem. They checked in on me, admired the dresses I came out in, and gave great feedback on potential issues. I bought a brand new wedding dress that fit perfectly. My maid of honor and mother also found their wedding day dresses here. We left feeling incredibly productive and more than satisfied with the great service. Couldn't have nicer things to say about the ladies here! I'd recommend this boutique to any bride who doesn't want to be pushed around or pressured into a dress she isn't in love with. read more
