At first I was ruling out new cabinets because I thought I would definitely not have money in my budget and I initially researched re-facing options. Big mistake! The estimates I got from the re-facing companies were horribly expensive especially given that they would not be installing brand new cabinets. My contractor (that was working on other projects) suggested I go to Cabinets to Go and I'm so glad I did! I was able to get brand new cabinets for an extremely low price and while they aren't completely customized, you can somewhat design your cabinet layout and choose what types of drawers and cabinets you want and where they will be placed. There are several color options and styles to choose from and the quality is excellent. If you feel confident in your measurements, or you have a trusted contractor to take measurement's for you, then definitely consider cabinets to go as an option. They do not come out and measure like other more expensive kitchen design centers. I also suggest visiting on a week day if your schedule allows as the weekends get busy and you may have to wait a while to work with a representative at their showroom/store. It takes about two weeks for your cabinets to come in once they are ordered. There were a couple minor issues, like missing pieces to my order, but when I called they were ordered and sent. Overall I am pleased with the look of the finished installation. If you are going to install yourself or you have a reasonable contractor, this place is by far an excellent and affordable choice for your kitchen renovations!

I had an unpleasant experience with this company. I ordered cabinets for a kitchen remodeling…read moreproject. They were very helpful and cordial during the process. I stopped by several times to gather information on a kitchen sink. I was seeking difference between granite and stainless steel and different mounting styles. Had a number of discussions where I expressed my preferences and reasons why. Subsequently ordered sink recommended by Mr. Holcomb that I was told could be installed with a "negative reveal". This was a must for me and he was well aware of that. Product recommended could not do the job but was installed anyway. When I informed Holcomb that I would not accept the incorrect product, I was initially complimented on my demeanor and willingness to cooperate. I was told he would find a replacement and would check for it over the weekend. When I called on Tuesday afternoon to get a status and ask for additional information, Mr. Holcomb suddenly became belligerent, uncooperative, and very abrasive. He accused me of harassing him. Because I had to buy additional granite, have it recut and buy another sink that could be installed with "negative reveal" additional expense was incurred. This delayed the project impacting the additional contractors and they had to move on to other projects. They then had to find additional time to finish my project after the installation of granite. Mr. Holcomb refused to accept any responsibility and said "I did not touch your granite" indicating that it was the granite company's fault. He would not reimburse me for the sink that he incorrectly recommended and could not be installed with a "negative reveal" because it had a ledge across the top nor for any of the cost of new granite installation. Mr. Holcomb's policy is to collect full payment upon ordering. He actually asked me for the balance of granite installation the day it was installed. I would highly recommend withholding some of the costs until job is completed satisfactorily, getting every little detail in writing and date stamped. I would not do business with this company in the future nor would I recommend them.

Orlandini was recommended to us by a contractor for our kitchen backsplash…read more The location truly is off the beaten path. We had to cross over this strange little rickety bridge looking thing which isn't even really paved. Thank goodness my husband was in the car with me because it looked very sketch and I definitely would have thought I was in the wrong spot and turned around if I was by myself. He told me to keep going...and I did...and we arrived at Orlandini. The hilarious thing is they actually have a sign saying something to the effect of yes, this is really it! I cracked up when I saw it. The parking lot is humongous. it looks like a warehouse from the outside. It isn't particularly branded. I am just giving you the most detailed account I can so you know what to expect when you approach it because I was not expecting it at all. It's not unsafe or anything, it just wasn't what I anticipated and it threw me off. There is a normal glass door that we walked through to enter. Upon entering we were surrounded by tile. There are a few different sections; a front, a middle and a back. Someone said hello to us and let us know someone would be with us in a moment. We started perusing on our own. We didn't notice any particular organization method to how the tile was arranged in the store. Without any guidance we really didn't know what we were getting into outside of just seeing what we liked. We had four separate choices in our hands before someone was able to help us. We asked some questions and got some answers. He looked at the tile in my hands and immediately told me that we had some of the more expensive tile picked out (of course). I was already pretty attached to my top choices by that point so we asked for prices. We gave him the measurements our contractor took and he told us to give him a minute and then he gave us price points for each tile. What I really appreciated was that we could take the tile with us so we could see it in our home with our lighting and our paint, etc. That was huge! They took our information to ensure that the tile would be returned. If we didn't return it, we would have been charged for it. They told us to have it back in approximately 3-4 days. We wanted to keep one of them longer so we returned the other three and he told us it wasn't a problem to keep the 4th a bit longer. He also gave us a collection of grout samples to choose from. I know nothing about tile so that was unexpected for me. lol When we walked around Home Depot with the winning sample we got lots of compliments on it! One couple asked if we got it at HD. We told them no and referred them to Orlandini and they put it in their phone to head over. They have a much more expansive selection to choose from at Orlandini. Home Depot and Lowe's all have pretty basic stuff to choose from and not much of a selection. If you are looking to go out of the box I would highly recommend Orlandini. When it was time to order our (original) contractor called and gave all of the specs to the employee and then handed the phone off to me. I gave my credit card info and we were good to go! He called the (original) contractor when the tile was in and he went to pick it up for us. We had the perfect amount. There was hardly any waste. We didn't like the "pencil" our (original) contractor ordered (without us seeing it) and they let us return it which we appreciated. We couldn't return the one slab of tile we had leftover because it was a special order. It was on the pricey side but that was my own fault for having expensive taste. I do think it would be a good idea to have the tile arranged by price level so when you are walking around by yourself you have an idea of what you're getting in to. I guess they wouldn't luck out with people like me, then. lol. It would also probably be pretty difficult to keep track of that system with people taking tile in and out on a regular basis. The tile came in pretty quickly, was great quality and looks amazing in our kitchen! We are super happy with the finished product. My husband said it looks even better than he anticipated. Their hours aren't the most convenient for people that are working. They stated their hours are different because of covid. Fortunately I am working from home and my boss let me leave a little early so I was able to get there before they closed. But you will need to plan to get there before 4:00 because that's when they close. Covid protocol: masks are required. Since they aren't a big box store they weren't crowded (at least whenever we were there they weren't) which makes it easy to social distance from other customers. There were only a couple of people in there when we were and they weren't close to us. No temperature checks and I don't recall seeing hand sanitizer but that doesn't mean it wasn't there somewhere and that I just didn't notice. I recommend Orlandini for all of your tile needs. Shop small!

When we had pictures and a clear vision for what we wanted, the staff was able to quickly show us some options and make picking that project quick and easy. For the kids project, they were able to interact with us as well as our kids and figure out what they liked. The staff took time to ask questions and interact with the kids so that they could understand what they wanted. When that was done, they actually gave us some less expensive options to look at since the kids picked some of the most expensive accent tile in the showroom. Please try this supplier. We chose Pine Street for a full house remodel (replacing electric, plumbing, major structural…read morerevisions) of an historical home in the West Chester borough. Our primary objective was the highest quality work that would preserve the historical aspect of the home, but fully modernized and at the lowest reasonable cost. Nearly three years since we engaged them and we continue to feel like that was the best decision we could have possibly made. The essential things that made this experience wonderful for us, particularly as first-time home renovators, were the detailed planning and rigorous project management, the quality of craftsmanship and expert network, and the incredibly warm professionalism and care of the team. In sum, they delivered below our initial cost projections and ahead of time -- nearly the opposite of all the horror stories we've heard about some of the other crews. In the beginning, it was a very difficult decision to choose Pine Street. Their cost projections were higher than their competitors by A LOT. I nearly dismissed them because of it. But the level of detail and thoughtfulness in the bid really won me over. When I questioned competitors about some of the detail included in the PS bid, they would always respond that if that happened, they would need to increase costs, etc. It really made me worry about what final costs would eventually be and I ultimately chose PS for their transparency and integrity. Perhaps the best element of the entire project was the onsite project manager. This is a person who will be your main point of contact throughout, who will have all of the answers and will ultimately know your home better than you do. This is an enormous gift and a real relief in what would otherwise be a stressful time. Ours would call us proactively, make great suggestions and recommendations (things that you just don't know as you begin, but that are revealed as you get started). For example, he had a piece of reclaimed barn wood in his garage that he used as an accent piece in a stairwell or, in another case, was able to use parts of the existing rafters as trim in the bedroom. These little things feel brilliant when you're trying to preserve the feel of the home and keep costs low -- and these are simply things we never could have anticipated in the planning stage. This role in your remodel can really magnify the experience as a client. Another aspect to consider is that Pine Street has cultivated a network of people they trust over years of experience and working together. Every single person who came through our house was knowledgeable, respectful and responsive. The team would not have allowed it to be any other way. Further, at the end of the project, they gave us a portfolio of contact information for each person that had worked on the house, so if anything goes wrong or we need some additional work, we have a network of folks that know the house and that we know we can trust (and who, by the way, will be very quick to respond out of respect for their relationship with Pine Street). Finally, the part that is hardest to articulate, is the warm professionalism that the team brings. You'll feel it first with Brendon when you call with your first inquiry, but you'll leave feeling nearly astonished that the entire team carries it forward: problems will be addressed and solved before you even hear about them; the site will be clean at the end of every day without fail; the team will stop what they're doing when you enter to make sure you can see and understand the steps that are being taken (and they never got impatient with our very frequent visits). Again, all things we didn't know before we started but ended up defining the quality of our experience. It is an important decision to choose the right partner in these efforts. I can get easily stressed out by the volume of decisions that need to be made and was vigilant about costs and timing.
