We had no need for an accessible shower--and I was unsure how it could even be used without flooding the room. My husband went back to the front counter and was immediately given another room. We then moved out belongings from the first floor to the third. While I was glad to be away from the loud pool area, I was still surprised by the overall loudness of the hotel. The walls and ceiling barely shielded noise at all. Even with ear plugs, I slept poorly. The room space itself was okay. We had a king bed with an attached sitting area. As we were on a road trip, having a mini fridge in the room was a necessity, and I was dismayed to find there was no freezer section and the entire door of the fridge was filled with mini bar items. I had to remove all of the bar items for the night in order to fit our own water bottles and cold packs. The hotel was apparently remodeled recently. The room still looked like it was in good condition. I appreciated the abundance of outlets around the room, including on both sides of the bed. There were two elevators and one was out of service. As the hotel was quite full, this meant long wait times were inevitable. We then made a point of using the access stairs for the rest of our stay. Also to note: it seemed odd and unnecessary to pay $10 a night to park our car in a normal uncovered parking lot. While I'm grateful the staff was able to accommodate the room change to align with our reservation, our overall experience was underwhelming. I would not stay here again.

During my stay from Wednesday till Monday housekeeping did not come one time. I was sick Friday, I sweat through my sheets and pillows. Then I hoped to come back to a clean room and clean sheets the day after Saturday when I get back into my room after work. But nope, still the same soiled sheets and pillows. I didn't have the energy to go down to front desk to let them know, so I slept on the sheets. That night the same thing happens, I sweat through my sheets and pillows yet again. I had ordered the salmon that night and it wasn't bad, but it was very bland and it was hard to get down so I had only eaten half. The next day around 2PM I get to my room on my break, I had an hour to relax before needing to head back out to work. And I get back to another dirty room.. This time I was very annoyed because all I wanted was to rest in a clean room and decompress for a little while before having to head out. But my room had bags of trash piling up and smelled like the salmon from the night before. I was very annoyed and took the trash and put it all in the hallway. That's when I went on the live chat to complain about the situation. Then as I'm laying in bed relaxing, the housekeeping opens the door while I'm in bed! And asks me if I need my room cleaned... I said yes I do but I'm literally using the room right now, why didn't they come earlier? Or any of the other days of my stay?? The live chat person recommended I speak to the front desk manager about the situation the next morning. So I did, I told her all the details. She apologized and gave me 1000 points, big whoop.. When you stay at Hiltons, Marriotts, Intercontinental the one thing you should expect is cleanliness.. I didn't get that.. Having to sleep on sweaty dirty sheets multiple days in a row and have trash piling up was not a fun experience. The server at the bar was nice, but she recommended the salmon and honestly that was a pretty terrible recommendation. It was so bland. The wings were actually surprisingly good themselves. But the blue cheese was a bit gross, the consistency is quite weird. The lady that checked me in on Wednesday night was very pleasant and I enjoyed interacting with her. The general manager definitely made the stay memorable for thinking I'm dumb and saying 1000 points is somehow "a bunch of points" The fitness center leaves a lot to be desired.. If you like running on a treadmill, then you're in luck because that's about the most you'll be able to do in there. Stay at the Courtyard Marriott next door, when I checked pricing it was actually a little cheaper. If you wanted a more elevated stay for a bit more, but a much nicer experience then stay at the beautiful Sheraton on the other side of the convention center.

Marriott Kansas City Overland Park review | Kansas…read more 10800 Metcalf Ave, Overland Park, KS 66210 2.5 out of 5 Stars "A stay that started strong... then flushed itself away--literally." If you're looking for a hotel that nails the basics--clean spaces, friendly staff, a comfy bed, and a location that puts you close to food, highways, and life itself--then the Marriott Kansas City Overland Park seems like a solid pick. Emphasis on seems. Because while the building had its charms, my experience took a very unexpected turn in a direction no guest wants to go. Let's start with the good news: The place is clean. The staff? Pleasant, helpful, and ready with smiles. There's a full restaurant and bar on site--huge win if you're hungry or just too tired to DoorDash your life away. Starbucks coffee right in the building? Absolutely. Fitness room? Surprisingly spacious. Complimentary snacks for top-tier guests? Yes, please. And the bed? Soft enough to make you consider hitting snooze at least three times. But... then there were the cons, and these weren't small. The trip went downhill the moment I discovered the toilet didn't work in my room. And here's the part that should win an award for "Most Unexpected Plot Twist in a Hotel Stay": they knew the toilet was broken before giving me the room. That's like handing someone a chocolate chip cookie but forgetting to mention the chips are raisins. Instead of fixing the issue, the solution was to move me to another room--because nothing says "relaxing hotel stay" like repacking all your stuff and relocating after you've already settled in. Huge inconvenience. Major vibe killer. And as if that wasn't enough, the suite felt noticeably smaller than other Marriotts--like the hotel version of "we have food at home." To top it off, for the price tag attached, you'd expect everything to work flawlessly--especially the plumbing. So yes, the stay delivered on cleanliness and comfort... but it also delivered a storyline I wasn't ready for. Final Verdict: This hotel has potential, but between the price point and the toilet troubles, it lands at a very middle-of-the-road 2.5 out of 5 stars. Still workable, but definitely not the Marriott magic you might be expecting. @we_stayed_there www.westayedthere.com
