I'll start with a positive: the technician was kind and supportive. That said, I would try a different group. I think to start with they are highly unethical in their business practice of collecting money. I have insurance but they took 500 dollars, required before they would service me. 3 months later I called the insurance company to see why nothing had gone toward my deductible. After a few minutes I discovered that insurance had fully paid so I should have been given my 500 back. When I called I was told I'd have a credit. Um....no! Then I learned it had been processed with the wrong codes to the insurance company so the claim would not process. The only time the first level responded instead of just repeating the same words was when I told them I had a billing and coding degree and I knew what should have been coded. I've spent up to 7 hours on the phone with insurance and managers and I still am 200 dollars not paid. I'm sure at this point they are trying to run the clock down so the claim cannot be processed and they can say they don't owe me. Pick another group, but at least watch your insurance to be sure you really owed the money. It only discourages customers getting needed care, life giving care, when you are told you owe 500 you may be unable to pay. Especially when insurance companies could fully cover it. This is what preauths are for. Very annoyed. read more

This place is my jam for diagnostic testing. I've been to their competitor once and refuse to go back. They've always been fast and easy to schedule with and see me within minutes of my appointment time (even early on occasions!). The technicians have always been courteous, professional and provide the best level of care. I strongly recommend this location if you're in need of imaging (like ultrasounds and CT scans - both that I have experienced here). read more

I've had two ultrasounds done at Element Medical Imaging, and I was very satisfied with the care and attention during both visits. The technicians were extremely professional, kind, and attentive -- I can't complain about the staff at all. However, the billing experience has been very frustrating. They charged me significantly more than the amount agreed upon with my insurance. Their billing system is terrible -- it's basically just a voicemail where you have to leave a message and hope someone calls you back. After multiple attempts, they finally returned my call, only to tell me to contact my insurance company and have them reach out to Element -- through the same voicemail system! Overall, the medical service itself is excellent, but their billing and communication process really need improvement. Note: It's been a couple of months since my first call, and I'm still trying to resolve this issue. I'm once again trying to get in touch with them, but it's proving to be just as difficult. read more

Waste of time, went for a biopsy and Dr. Miller took four samples of nothing, not one cell was extracted. The tension between the doctor and the tech was uncomfortable from the start. Left a message for the office manager to call me last Wed and no callback. Normally I go to Diagnostic Imaging but they don't perform biopsies. Will never go back to this place! read more

Wildly unprofessional. Was trying to work with Element on being incorrectly billed and they blamed me for everything. Talked to the supervisor who also blamed me then when our call got disconnected (or when she hung up) there was no call back. I had to leave another voicemail which may or may not be returned. Just a PSA to anyone visiting Element Medical Imaging; half the staff at the Lee Summit office has chosen not to get the COVID vaccine. Today, as I removed my mask in preparation to enter the machine, I let the tech know not to worry that I was vaccinated. She responded that it didn't bother her - and that in fact, while the vaccine was offered to her, she declined. Had I known this, I never would have booked an appointment at this facility. Individuals have a right to make a choice for themselves. However, as healthcare providers they are in close contact with patients, many of whom have compromised medical conditions. They are putting us at risk. They should inform patients and the public so we can make that choice for ourselves. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. This company did not tell me they were out -of-network for my insurance. I did not find out until my insurance let me know weeks after my MRI, and I then got a bill for $800+. As I didn't have $800 just lying around, I was unable to pay at the time. The company then (after ONE bill) sent me to collections, somehow for $1400+!! I called and spoke with Trina, who was unwilling to help me in anyway, but she did "sympathize." Thanks, but sympathy doesn't pay this ridiculous bill that I have no way of paying, and was never disclosed that I'd have to pay out-of-network prices. To do this to someone, and then send them to collections during Covid? Heartless and disgusting. read more

I recently had an MRI done. The receptionist and tech were both very professional. I was taken back promptly. The tech explained exactly what would happen. She gave me ear plugs, another set of ear muffs to go over my ears and asked if I wanted a blanket for comfort. My results were back in a timely manner. I would go there again for any imaging needs. read more

Awful experience. I was on time to my appointment. Arrived 15 mins prior to my appointment time. Checked in from my car like they ask me to. After arriving to the empty lobby I sat and waited over 50 mins for my appointment. In the mean time everyone that was late to their appointments were seen before me. 15-20 people came and left the lobby and their appointments. I checked in with the receptionist twice and she kept saying I was next. I missed my second appointment of the day and my husband was late for work. I will not be returning. read more

They are true professionals, and make you feel comfortable and taken care of. They take all kinds of insurance, and you don't have to wait too long for appts. Been going here for several years. But after undergoing a wrist joint dye injection under fluoroscopy so they can see exactly where the dye is going in a joint followed by an MRI and then told 2 days later the MRI wasn't readable because not enough dye had been injected, I had the same procedure again! I know stupid on my part to return. This time the MRI is readable but my hand is black and blue from being stuck at least 6 times to inject the dye! After this experience and despite being told I wouldn't be charged for either MRI, I am done here! read more

Despite the name of this facility, they bill as a professional entity rather than as a freestanding radiological facility. This resulted in my being responsible for 93% of allowable charges rather than 20%. They told me that they were required to bill with that NPI number because they owned the equipment. I won't use them again for any future imaging services. read more

I would like to recognize the outstanding commitment to service by Shelly in the pre-op department. There had been a mix up in the approval for my procedure and it was 2 hours before I was to show up. Shelly immediately got on the phone to my doctors office. She was able to get the correct procedure written. Next she called and got approval from the insurance company which in this time of Covid could have been a nightmare. Really beautiful, clean offices. I think the space is brand new. We were seen really quickly and Dr. Harmon was professional and direct. If you're sick of getting your xrays (etc) in dingy hospital basements on ancient machinery, this is the place for you. I finally felt it was worth what I paid. read more

I was given a prescription for a MRI and told by the ordering provider to call around and see the soonest I could get in. Diagnostic imaging was able to get me in Thursday. I was hoping Johnson County Imaging could get me in sooner. Unfortunately the provider has to fax the order directly to them or they will not schedule it. Very disappointed. read more

The bottom line here is that they have the best staff and equipment. We had a previous MRI elsewhere that left something major undiagnosed. The docs there catch it. Fortunately, our doc asked us to recheck it with this center (he said the neuroradiologist there was the best in town) and it saved our mom's life! We will be forever grateful. read more

I have used Johnson County Imaging for the last 25 years for my mammograms -- no more! This year they screwed up my Medicare billing and billed me instead. When you go to have a mammogram they photocopy your Medicare card and driver's license so there is no excuse for this. I had to call their billing sub-contractor and give them my info all over again which I am not comfortable with in this era of id theft and Medicare fraud. I tried to leave feedback on the Johnson County Imaging web page but guess what? All of their "Contact US" links just take you to their phone number or their billing sub-contractor. read more

Yes, you can probably go to a fancier place to have your imagine done, but you cannot beat the price here. After conferring with another diagnostic center who wanted to charge me $1200, I checked on-line and found this place - who lists their prices right on their site. The other place surprised me with their price after I had arrive and filled out all the paperwork. They were very quick and the staff was great! Even if I had insurance, why would I want to pay more? I wouldn't. JCIC will get all my future business. read more

I called to make an appoint for a 3D mammogram (which has went up $10.00) and an annual thyroid US. They informed me that I would have to pay the specialist copay if it applied. I have a $55 specialist copay, which I don't mind paying that when I am actually going to see a doctor who is a specialist! This is not a doctors appointment. What a scam! If you consider yourself even a bit modest, this is not the place for you. I went for a hip xray. Yes, I was precertified with the insurance folks--I guess they want to make certain they get paid. I have no objection to them being paid for good service, but really... The changing room was a small dark closet-like space across a walkway from an identical space. I was taken to the 'changing room', given a 'robe' (the usual tie-on cotton nothing) and was mostly undressed when I realized I was about 2 feet from a man who had been given the same instructions. I wasn't going to come out of my space in only that robe with that man a few inches away, so I got dressed again, asked for a more private changing space, and was treated like I was insane for asking. I persevered, got changed in a room with a door, and reported for the xray. I was laid on an xray table in a room with several pieces of equipment. The room had a long glass wall on one side, and my feet were pointed toward the glass wall. The positions required of me on the xray table provided anyone walking down the hall on the other side of that glass wall most inappropriate views. I objected to this situation, expressed my thoughts, and was again treated like I was somewhere between dumb and crazy. Really. I just don't bare my private parts to the public. The tech rushed through the xray, and got me out of there. I won't be bothering them with another xray. There are plenty of places in Johnson County that do this work. read more

I went for a CAT SCAN with dye injection in October of 2015 as ordered by my internal medicine doctor due to some female issues. I unfortunately went on a day to JOCO Imaging when they were in the midst of moving the office from their old location to their current location. Things were chaotic with the Tech performing the procedure as she had people coming into the room to "discuss moving equipment," that should have been a clue for me, but I was feeling so bad physically, I just wanted to get to the bottom of the issue. I went ahead with the scan and everything came back NORMAL. I did say NORMAL. The following week I went in for my annual Pap exam, but I let them know I was having some issues and I just recently had a CAT scan and was waiting on results. They prepared to do in-house vaginal ultrasound as part of my annual exam and discovered some abnormalities. I then went in a month later and unfortunately they discovered I had Stage 3 uterine cancer. If you do not know, the typical initial scan for cancer that a doctor orders, it IS a CAT scan with dye contrast... now you tell me... how in a week do you go from "normal CAT scan to Stage 3 CANCER!! I have finally had the time to go and pick up the scan this week after almost 11 months, as you can imagine, I had bigger things on my plate...but I want people to know that you should not rely on this company's SCANS or Radiology, as your life may depend on it. What if I had not done any other follow-up...I may not be alive writing this review. I know companies and people make mistakes, this is a lesson learned! Always have a plan B when you don't feel well! Mine at the time was prayer and follow GOD's leading, hindsight 20-20 as this SHOULD HAVE been PLAN A,...and believe me miracles do still happen and HE did not steer me wrong from the moment I found out I had CANCER...I am sure if I prayed before I went in for the CAT scan...I may have not had to go through this insane CAT scan...but inevitably GOD is in control, and maybe all of this was to expose what I went through so others do not RELY on this company's SCANS.... who knows... read more
