The room was a bit dated…read more.. Had a lack of charging stations... these days you have to update to current needs! The room lighting was really dark... I mean come one... put in some real lights. The bed was good the room was clean. It just needed to be updated. I also don't like it when the tv is not centered on the bed or when you have to turn sideways to watch it. I mean how is that comfortable and who actually thought that was a good design? Price ok, staff good, room passable.

New and clean hotel . Good customer service. Downstairs it has a bistro with 24 hours drinks ,…read morebreakfast , lunch and dinner . Also a snack bar called the " market " . The hotel has a nice pool and a large gymnasium for exercise . There are 3 elliptical, 5 runners and 2 stationary bikes , plus many weight lifting machines. I am impressed that it has clean towels , water fountain and cups , and an antiseptic wipe counter . It is so important to have antiseptic wipe in a gym to prevent transmission of germs . The Bistro has hot food for order and Starbucks coffee . Lady works there is super polite and helpful . The lobby area near by are well designed . You can relax to eat and chat , read a book or work on the laptop . There is an outdoor patio too if you like to go outdoor . The only draw back I have is the Starbucks does not provide Stevia ( Truvia ) sugar alternative. It is the most healthy , does not cause cancer and is highly recommended by doctors . In other coffee shops outside , they all have Truvia . I enjoy my stay here . I highly recommended this hotel .

The Aida - Huge beautiful king room!

I wanted to plan something a little different for my boyfriend's birthday this year, focusing more…read moreon the experience than the coolest gift that he would love. The Aida became part of the gift simply for how easy it was to book, the communication from the owners was quick and friendly, and it ended up being close to the theater we were seeing a show at! I booked this hotel thinking it would be like any other hotel. I was wrong on all accounts. The Aida gives you the comforts and peace of any hotel chain that cares about its guests but where the Aida stands out is the ease of booking, checking in, checking out, and communication I usually receive from a vacation rental. That's just the experience I had before we even checked in! Upon check in we were both delightfully surprised at the gorgeous historic building it actually was. Situated across the street from the Nelson-Atkins Museum of art and amongst other gorgeous historic buildings, our mini birthday vacation became more than we expected yet everything we wanted. Check in was contactless and a breeze. We found our room quickly and loved that it was a corner room with a little sitting area separated by a thick velvet curtain from the sleeping area. There were no closets but there were hanging rods we could easily hang our jackets and clothing if needed. The touch of local chocolate was nice and the postcard was as well. I love getting postcards from where we travel to, a small souvenir that takes little space in your luggage! The bathroom was clean and the shower head felt nice after a long day of gallivanting around town. We ended up just walking to the show that night and it was a pleasant evening to walk back. The next day we checked out just as easily as check in and spent more time around the city. We truly loved our stay here. The bed was incredibly comfortable and we woke up refreshed and knew we'd stay here again! I almost forgot to mention, not only was the inside of the hotel well kept but so was the garden and seating area outside. It's its own peaceful oasis under the trees!

Great place to say. Best customer service and the best views. The suite is always clean and…read morespotless. The decor is phenomenal throughout the whole building. I love the waiting areas in the front two rooms, they are very comfortable, cozy, and very stylish. You can tell there is skill and intention behind every piece of furniture.

I booked a room along with my parents. We each called to ensure that our rooms were near each…read moreother, only for them to disregard the request - saying it was changed as people started checking in and they overlooked the note. I was not happy and did snap for a moment (it was a long travel day, in my defense) and the overnight person at the desk decided to comp breakfast for myself, my parents (apparently it typically costs $13-14). He proudly informs us that they have a chef and lists some things they typically have. The next morning, my mom talks to the morning desk person who questions why we received a comp, saying "oh, they don't normally do that." My dad walks over and starts getting a plate while my mom finished talking and as I arrived downstairs. My dad sits, my mom and I go to grab a plate and the lady walks over to my dad to inform him that he has to pay. He looks at his plate, then she realizes he's with us and she apologizes for her confusion and walks away. The food, was absolutely ridiculous. We were SHOCKED that they actually charged for stale bread, disgusting OJ and the "chef" was heating things up in a microwave. The following morning we went to a local restaurant and paid the same price for 3x as much FRESH food. In the room - the chair had a HUGE DARK stain. And the second morning, I found a huge spider? Maybe? in my bathroom. The pool was also incredibly unpleasant- humid and loud. I would NOT book again.

DO NOT STAY HERE!!!!! To start out this business has apparently got 3 names as it is Mainstay…read moreSuites, Sonesta, and Candlewood Suites these are all listed on several different booking websites. No matter what it is called it is absolutely the worst hotel I have ever seen in my life. This hotel seems like it was imported from a 3rd world country and not one ounce of energy has been spent to fix it. Homeless people harassing guests, disgustingly filthy, cigarette burn on the toilet seat of a non smoking room, bugs dead and alive, booked a week reluctantly stayed 1 night and left. Owner/manager unwilling to reimburse Expedia for the 4 nights that no one stayed there. Pathetic excuse for a business and whatever hotel chain they are affiliated with should be ashamed to have their name associated with this dump!!!!
