We went in to get my eleven year-old daughter's ears re-pierced as the holes she got at three were too low. She was a little nervous before and Steve was so awesome with her. He explained everything and even told her the extra holes were essentially "not something to be worried about but an extra option" (as people can do them stacked or in a triangle). I went in to get my nipples pierced for my 19th birthday day, and the lady with the dreads missed her dot completely and lop sided my right breast. It looks awful & when I called the next day when I noticed and swelling went down she yelled at me on the phone and called herself a master piercer. I've had my nose pierced 3 times and I'm not one to complain about service but this was the worst piercing I've ever gotten. The jewelry was cheap and falls out every very often. I switched it to one of their L shaped studs and it still continued to fall out and thus caused my hole to close. The people were very nice and helpful but I would not recommend getting pierced here. read more

All but my first lobe piercings have been done here by Steven, and they're all so perfect. He makes sure to place things where they'll heal correctly and always shows you the sanitary packages and workstation. I've also had a cursive tattoo done by Megan (and an appointment for another one has already been set up) and it's so beautiful. The lines are so precise and dainty still, and I've had the tattoo for over a year. Can't wait to get another one by her, and I'll definitely be going to Element for my tattoos and piercings until I'm no longer in the area. Note: you CANNOT just walk in for tattoos. Both artists are in high demand and thus appointments must usually be booked at least a month in advance. Most of the time, you can walk in for piercings, but you should probably still call beforehand to make sure. read more

So this morning I decided I was to try this place for a tattoo. I get there a little early in waiting, they open some guy opens the door I ask if he had time to do a small tattoo. It would have taken 30 minutes maybe. I didn't even get through the door he say no, of course he is rude and closes the door. We sat outside the store for awhile and I have to say no came to that shop. The upsetting thing was it was a memorial tattoo for my sister who passed away in August. I guess it wasn't worth the 150 dollars he would have made. This is the last place I would refer anyone to. read more

Went and got my first tattoo done here during my time in Montana. Called in a couple days before to make an appointment and they were able to get me right in. Arriving to the shop I noticed it was very clean, and my tattoo artist went over the process of showing me the clean new needles in their packaging. Being a little nervous for my first tattoo, the girl talked me through it, asking what my favorite movies are and asking about the inspiration for my tattoo. Although I do not remember her name, I remember her telling me about her first tattoo being a big dragon on her back, which is awesome!! There were no changes made to my original tattoo which was drawn by my best friend which I thought was really amazing. Sometimes artists change things up to make it fit nicer but this was exactly as drawn which I really appreciated. The tattoo took a little longer than expected but that was my own fault as my skin wasn't taking the ink very well and it was on my ribs and I was kinda twitchy! Even through all of that, my artist was able to perfectly represent my tattoo on my body. I could not have been happier. It was exactly as it appeared on the paper I showed her and the line were nice and dark and neat. Not only was the tattoo and experience amazing, but the fact that they offer free first touch ups at their shop is SOOOO helpful. I know when I need to I'll be back for the touch up. They are a great shop and I highly recommend going there if you are ever in Bozeman and wanting a tattoo! read more

Some people impulse shop. Me? I impulse pierce. I had been vaguely considering re-piercing the side of my lip on and off for a couple weeks without any real commitment behind it. Then on a whim while headed somewhere else I decided I really wanted to do it. More so, I decided one would be so lonely so I was going to do a double side lip (spider bites not snake bites). The girl who initially greeted me at the desk (one of the tattoo artists) was very warm and friendly. Steven, the piercer, was fantastic. He has a very calm, quiet demeanor which I really liked. Even though I've been pierced before (which was clear from the scar from my previous lip piercing) he made sure I understood every step of the process before it happened. I also really appreciated his calm during the actual piercing because my pain tolerance isn't quite what it used to be and so there was just a touch more pinch and sting than I was prepared for. He reassured me I was a badass several times which made me inwardly grin (but not outwardly because he had a needle in my lip, people!). He even entertained my questions about whether or not there were any technique advances on surface piercings so I could re-do my clavicle and tested to see if my old lip piercing could be stretched back out rather than pierced. Overall this was a super comfortable experience on par with, or surpassing, the experiences I've had at Mom's Body Shop & Body Manipulations in San Francisco. I may have the piercing bug back now and I'll definitely be going to Steven to poke me with needles whenever the mood strikes me in the future. Also, how awesome is it that basic jewelry is included in the cost of the piercing? That was such a great surprise, especially after deciding on the fly that I wanted to go for the double piercing. I am so thankful to Steve who did my daughter's ear piercing the right way. She had them previously pierced at Claire's this summer, the ear swallowed up the earrings and she had to have a Dr. surgically remove them which was very painful. Then the holes closed up. I came here to get my nipples pierced. The experience was nice, they did a good job distracting me during the process, however one of the piercings was put through my areola on one side of the bar. I went in to ask them about it and they told me it was fine and they weren't gonna do anything about it. Now it's permanently visibly messed up, I had to pay almost double what I could've gotten at another shop around town and I'm very disappointed in the job they did. read more

I've been to Element at least twice now and each experience was worse than the last. Both of the women there were SO rude. I don't even care that one of their kids was running around the store because their rudeness stole the show. My septum piercing was crooked and she had to repierce my nostril twice in one sitting. I was also told I couldn't use a hoop/ring in my nostril even though when I came back to get my septum pierced months later, my male friend who was getting his nostril pierced was offered a ring right off the bat. Never going back and I'm writing this review to hopefully save others from having a similar experience to mine. read more

I recently got my belly button pierced at element tattoo. A couple of weeks later it had gotten infected due to the lady piercing it wrong. It was also a very painful piercing and belly button piercings are not so posed to be painful. I had to go to the doctors and they had to cut me open to get the infection and jewlery out. Do not go here! read more
