I've received superior services from the four massage therapists I've seen at Elements Massage on 1A in N. Beverly since joining sometime in the summer of 2025. Massage therapy is a very demanding profession. It takes a toll. I assume that's why I've had successive cancellations at EM - 3 in a row in the past month alone, with three different therapists, followed by a recent 4th. I get it. It's really tough. I appreciate the demanding work performed and tip well and in cash every time. What's totally weird is that this never happened to me with any of the self-employed LMTs I've seen in the past, going all the way back to 1986. I get the advantages of the corporate structure for all concerned but recoil at the persistent upselling. The folks at the front desk mean well and are clearly hewing close to the corporate overlord's script (sell, sell, sell!). I have cancelled my membership and will monitor how things go for my husband before recommending we cancel his. It's a tough business. I get that. The therapists are stellar, to a person. It's the infrastructure that gets to me. I will have to find a solo practitioner with their own shop next. read more

The woman who massaged me wore latex or plastic gloves, which felt awful and completely ruined what should have been a 90-minute massage. I have been getting massages for over 40 years and have never experienced this before. When I asked why she was wearing gloves, she said she had a skin condition. In addition, every time she applied lotion it was very cold, causing me to tense up repeatedly throughout the session. Overall, it was an absolutely terrible experience. I will never return to or recommend the Beverly facility. read more

Membership monthly jacked up by $10 towards the end of this year - such a bummer, and was poorly advertised/shared with members. I had an issue canceling my membership, as there is a 30 day cancellation notice so when I requested the cancellation in November - they charged me the following month. This isnt a huge deal, except they did this charge *on the day of my cancellation* without telling me. In turn, i scheduled my monthly massage in December of 2023, as i assumed a 30 day cancellation meant i would have the membership one more month. In reality, i did NOT have another credit for the massage and Elements failed to tell me that ahead of time. In turn, i paid "Member Price" for my last massage - which is still more than i was willing to pay. The whole experience left me feeling very taken advantage of and distrusting of the chain as a whole. However, Louis at the front desk was an extreme delight to work with, was super help and very apologetic on behalf of the miscommunication and lack of explanation. She is terrific and at a minimum helped me part with Elements with "less" of a sour taste in my mouth. read more

I found Elements Massage in Beverly. It was convenient and easy to get to. The facility is clean and cozy. The front desk staff, Tina, was friendly and helpful. I like "deep tissue "massage. I have seen Jenny for deep tissue massages, and she is the best! I sit at a computer all day for my job, so I have a lot of tightness in my upper back. Jenny, my Massage therapist is able to loosen the tightness and get the muscles to relax. During the session She said to me, I will show you a good massage that is a little different. Wow! She definitely showed me. I felt wonderful, and relaxing. I have scheduled for the next month and here after. I will definitely recommend my coworkers and friends as well. I used to like this place. But after I found the right therapist they canceled my appointment because the therapist doesn't work there anymore. Then I made an appointment with another therapist they canceled my appointment 5 hours before. The therapist got sick with her shoulder they said. I say there is something wrong at this spa. I called to make an appointment, told the receptionist I had a gift card and wanted a 1 hour massage. She gave me some dates and I picked one. I was careful answering all the questions and filling out forms not to be upsold. I had a nice massage. When I checked out I was told my MT had extra certifications and there would be an up charge. I paid and went on my way. I felt manipulated. The reception that booked me didn't tell me about any up charge, when I checked in and filled out three forms I wasn't told about an up charge but when I was leaving after the massage now I owed for an up charge??????? ZERO STARS!!! DO NOT GO HERE OR ANY ELEMENTS! I have had a membership for about 10 years. I don't have anything bad to say about the therapists, but I have noticed that they cannot keep good therapist there. I could not go for an extended period of time because of the pandemic and having premature twins right when the pandemic started. I froze my account a few times to try to prevent too many massages from accumulating and eventually they told me I had to cancel as they would not allow me to freeze my account anymore. I was told I would have to use my massages THAT I PAID FOR in a certain amount of time before THEY EXPIRE (I PAID FOR THEM!). By the time I felt comfortable going to get a massage and establishing a nanny during the week, they had told me my massages had all expired. I tried reaching out to management and did not do anything to help or accommodate this given the extenuating circumstances. read more

I would think twice about buying a membership here. Firstly they are really busy which is great for them but not so great for the customer. It's really difficult to get an appointment. If you try to get out of your contract you have to come in to sign the cancellation contract. They can't mail email you the form. So it's really impossible to get out of the contract. If you don't continue to pay they will expire whatever credited massages you have accumulated so you can't use them unless you are an active member. read more

I would give them zero stars if i could! Awful customer service and sub par therapists. We tried them all i would only return to 2 of the 10 or so they have. Complete waste of $. They cancel on you at the last minute. When you try to cancel the membership they make you come in and then don't let you use the massages you have left claiming they expired. The therapists are wonderful. I like to try multiple just to see who I click the most with. After 3 years, Gina, Annie, Hunter, Kassy, and Meghan all dramatically helped improve my lower back problems. I never knew I could sleep this hard again. However, while the employees are superb, clearly management (likely the owner) cares little for his customers and employees. I get this is a business and money matters; but bleeding your customers dry will never keep you afloat. Twice in the last 18 months my monthly membership rate has increased. Not to mention that the owner has stopped his BYGO gift cards for the holiday season that has been going on for many YEARS. Clearly these drastic changes must not only be affecting the customers as I constantly see a new revolving door of therapists. Take care of your employees and customers so we take care of you. Unfortunately, I'll be finding a new studio because of this constant price increase. As much as I love Elements and it's employees, this is not a high-end spa. Shame on you management. Elements Beverly is very inconsistent. Some of the therapists are great and some are not very good at all. It is my belief that many of the good ones leave because they are under valued by the owner. I recommend finding a better place with more personalized service. I had a membership for five years and there were just too many bad experiences to stick with , so I cancelled. If you do sign up for a monthly membership, you better read the fine print in the contact because there are some things that I don't find ethical at all. Even though there are some nice people that work there, I still recommend finding a less corporate place. read more

Otherwise, I do like this place a lot! I love when they can accommodate last min appts, so convenient! My fav messieurs are Diane and Ellie :) the rooms are nice, clean, smell fresh and the lighting is perfectly dim. The music is also very soothing and at the perfect volume..... Trust me, i'm a glutton for pampering and have been to many many places on the north shore, and even though this is a franchise, I feel like they have it down to a science :) I don't feel uncomfortable or Wierded out in any way. A good place to go once a month, take your time and try each therapist till you get the right one. I highly recommend Meghan, she is great and knows what she is doing. The front office is very accommodating and pleasant, the waiting room gets your mind prepared to relax with a fish tank tv and flowing music throughout the entire place. The membership is good and the deals they offer are meant to keep you engaged, I think they are ok. The appointment reminders are the best, that is a critical part of their success. I highly recommend but you must try all therapist till you find the right one. read more

I can only speak to my personal massage experience at Elements in Beverly, but I admit to being surprised by the number of poor reviews on here after my very positive encounter. I am not a self-indulgent type of person, and I had never had a massage before yesterday. But since I had received a gift certificate and had been experiencing some neck and shoulder issues, I made my appointment and off to Beverly I went. My massage was 55 minutes of pure bliss and I am still riding the wave of it 24 hours later. Joshua was highly recommended to me, and he did not disappoint. In that short time, and through Joshua's skilled manipulation of my muscles, my range of motion was restored and the knots in my neck and back disappeared. Best of all, I left there pain free and floating on air. I received the sales pitch on my departure, but it was not heavy handed by any means. In fact, it sounds like a great deal, and if circumstances were different, I'd probably have signed the dotted line. This particular franchise is just too far off the beaten path for me to get to regularly. It was overall a very positive experience for me. The facility was clean, the lighting is forgiving (aka perfect), the staff was friendly and helpful and my masseuse was simply outstanding. Been a member for quite some time (YEARS) and I just drove all the way here from my home in North Andover to be told my appointment was cancelled. The girl at the desk said she tried calling me but that it had gone straight to voicemail. I never received a call and my cell is working perfectly fine and had a friend try calling to verify.... I even checked the number to make sure it was correct... Then when I asked her as to why she didn't leave a voicemail or send an email, she was beyond flustered and red and stumbled over her words and said she just found out 10-15 mins prior to my session and wanted to call me as fast as she could. I call BS... NO missed call... NO voicemail... NO email... What would happen if I cancelled MY appointment last minute?! This has happened too many times. Needless to say, I cancelled my membership... This isn't the first time that something like this has happened at this location. Ps... I have been to this location a few times and had some good massages. The most recent time I went I had massage therapist Ellie! She was awesome! She was very personable in the beginning finding out about my daily stresses and so on. She was great with just the right amount of pressure and just did a great job overall! I've been a client here for years and this location is terrible. I pay for 90 minute massages and have had the last 4 appointments cancelled last minute due to people leaving or not available. I canceled my membership for these reasons and they won't even give me a gift card for my last massage that I already paid @ $100 for. I paid for a 90 minute massage that they keep canceling and they won't even give me a gift card so I can give it to someone else. It's complete fraudulent behavior and illegal to charge for a service that you haven't received and can't because of the businesses unprofessionalism. I put a call in to the General Manager since the manager working couldn't do anything to accommodate me and I never heard back. There are plenty of better spas in the area- GO THERE! read more

This was my first time receiving a professional massage at Elements Massage Beverly and the least I can say is that I would give this place a 0 if I could. They over charged my account not once but twice. The customer service overall was horrible. I called to schedule a 90 minute massage and they left me on hold for a hour after I had to call 3 times and no one answered. Supposedly, they charge a 90 minute massage session and only massage for 80 minutes because they count me getting dressed and undressed as part of the massage. Once I walked into the studio there was scent of dead rat. Walking into the room I seen rat poop in the hallway and roaches all over and coming out of the trash bins in the bathroom. The sheets on the massage bed had bed bugs , I didn't even want to lay down to lay down to start the massage. The therapist I met was very nice but the front desk ladies were so unprofessional. One was on her phone and neither greeted me as I walked in. Although I didn't actually receive my massage they still charged me. Also veryyyy over priced. read more

I read Harper's review and could not resist writing a review because I had the same experience. I was a member of Elements in Beverly for almost two years. During that time the credit card that they had on file change due to my credit card company sending me a new one-something to do with a security breach at the TJX Companies-nothing to do with me. When this occurred I was well past the 1 year point in my contract, in fact about 18 months into it. They also called me looking for the new credit card number. At that time I had about 3-4 massages on my account because I was unable to go for a few months due to surgery, classes and vacation, but I had gone in for a massage right before the change of credit cards. I figured that the next time I went in I would provide them with the new credit card information. I was concerned about giving new credit card or bank information out over the phone because not only did I have to go change automatic payments I had set up due to the then TJX security breach, but my corporate Amex number had been recently stolen by staff at a small boutique hotel in NYC. While the credit card companies were OK in dealing with these security issues, it was a huge pain in the neck for me and I didn't want any more issues. I called to make an appointment about 3 weeks after they were harassing me for my new card information and they proceeded to tell me I had no massages on their books! I could see if I called them a year, 6 months or even 2 months later-but this was not the case. Apparently because I did not call them by the next billing cycle they completely closed my account! I even offered to pay for the month they couldn't bill and upfront for the next month and they insisted I had no prior massages on the book (I had confirmed I had 3 after my last massage and they definitely charged my card for one more that I did not use). I complained (nicely) to the front desk and asked that the manager research this and of course I never received a call back from anyone at Elements Beverly. So a few days later I called back to check on the situation and the girl at the desk (without checking) just said "You have no massages showing on our books". I have since moved within two miles of Elements Beverly (off season). Our weekend plans changed due to weather, so we decided to try to treat ourselves to a massage before a late lunch and an early evening movie. On a whim my fiance' called Elements in Beverly and they could give us appointments within one hour but wanted credit card information even though we were going to probably pay cash and I told him to forget it! Apparently they call massage therapists in as they need them so they want to make sure they get paid. I understand that they need to run a business but heck they had all his personal information and our home phone number and we even offered to stop by to pay in advance since we needed to go to Dawson's Hardware across the street but the receptionist still insisted on a credit card in advance. My fiance' almost complied and I grabbed the phone from him and not so nicely told the receptionist that they would not be getting a credit card number from us and to forget the appointments. (And I am a nice person-I hate being mean) As far as the quality of massage, it's a hit or miss. The people who start at Elements are often right out of school and most of them are OK but don't last. It appears the management uses them until they burn out and then they just replace them with fresh meat, so just when you find someone you like they will move on when they find a better opportunity. Elements is just a springboard for new massage therapists. Bottom line-management at this facility is not customer service focused. Do I take responsibility for not giving them my new credit card information for three weeks? Sure I do! But, I was on a business trip for one week and then on vacation for two weeks in the Dominican Republic and with 4 massages on their books I was not worried about them scalping me for more dineros. You get what you pay for. If you live near Hamilton I highly recommend Alexandra Graham, M.T at Hamilton-Wenham Chiropractic. Alex has magical hands and while it may cost a little more you will always get an awesome massage without the drama and BS at Elements. And you can trust the clinic with your personal information and they will never hound you with promotions and endless emails and that in itself will make your life less stressful! read more

I was really surprised by the poor reviews. I went here per recommendation of a friend who is a member of their monthly massage club. I also ended up joining after my first visit as I was impressed by the friendly reception staff, my massage therapist, and the cleanly environment. I've gone to Josh twice now and both times really enjoyed the massage and haven't had any negative experiences booking or cancelling appointments. If anything, staff has been extremely accommodating. Looking forward to my next appointment, but I'll be sure to update if I experience any of the things described in other posts. read more

My fiancé surprised me with a couples massage for Christmas and when we arrived they made a booking mistake so we were in different rooms getting our massages in tandem (no couples massage). The staff was very pleasant and they gave us a free massage to extend their apologies. Neither one of us liked our initial massage and when I went back to attempt a better outcome the second time it was still less than lack luster. I have been a member of the monthly membership for a 90 minute massage for over a year now, but I am still astounded they actually do not give you a 90 minute massage like any other place you go to. Today, my massage started at 3:35 p.m. for a 3:30 p.m. appointment and ended at 4:50 p.m. The person who did my massage left so I could get dressed and he knocked on the door at 4:53 p.m. I have never had someone knock on the door?! 3 minutes I explained to him I cannot get right up as I feel a bit woozy. So my massage was 75 minutes when it should actually be 90 minutes. We are going to be cancelling our monthly membership. read more
