Beware of this place! And if you are a current member, do yourself a HUGE favor and keep a detailed running record of how many unused session you have: my wife and I forfeited a number of prepaid sessions in '24-'26 because we were never told how many sessions were at risk of being lost before the year ended and so never used them... they took at least $1,000 from us without any services rendered, as atleast 8 sessions were unused without ever warning us UNTIL we canceled our memberships and the front desk slipped and shared this information. And yet the owner wants to $0.05 and $0.10 you and play games with your owed sessions! That's just one of far too many instances of poor or no communication between the customer and the business or between itself!! Far too many instances of promises made and never kept such as make up sessions for cancellations that were then counted as a second massage; masseuses "not being aware" that we had split a 90 minute session to extend another 90 minute into 2 hours and only delivering a 1 hour massage; of booking 2 hour sessions in advance to have them canceled the day of or day before because "its too much for the masseuse"; or instances of appointments booked weeks in advance only to be canceled at the last moment! But the worst part of this place is: The owner! Masseuses would call out and rarely was a plan in place to cover them and provide the session that you had booked ahead of time and paid for. If we canceled the day of, we'd forfeit the session AND have to pay a cancellation fee. This spa routinely cancels the day of and there's almost never recompense to you for your lost time or troubles. One of the very few times where an option was provided for a call out, was uncomfortable and unprofessional to say the least: I had booked a V-D day couples massage 7 weeks in advance, 2 hours before our session, the owner calls my wife to say that one of the two masseuses had called out and that she was going to replace them with a male, which my wife had adamantly refused multiple times in the past and had a note on file about never wanting a male masseuse. The owner (Robyn) asks my wife "Would it help if I told you that he is gay?" After catching herself from blowing up, my wife said it would change nothing and that his preferences were no one's business, Robyn then asks if "your husband would be willing to have him" which prompted my wife to say "if you look at his file he too has stated he doesn't want a male masseuse so no!" This prompted us to cancel our membership after weeks of deliberating. We suspended our accounts to catch up on the accumulated number of unused sessions. It took FOUR EMAILS to finally get a response and acknowledgement!! We eventually received an email stating that they, the owner had been out of state and that on return they would process our request. It took A FIFTH email to get confirmation, but were told that we had to pay for two more months before we could cancel: one to unsuspend the accounts and another to cancel. After some back and forth, the owner states that she would, "as a courtesy", waive the second month charge. We were given 30 days to use 6 and 10 sessions for myself and my wife respectively. This was extended another 30 days for my wife due to many of the usual shenanigans from this place with cancellations or 2 hour sessions ending after only 1 hour. Tonight, after receiving an email from the desk confirming tomorrow's session, my wife received a phone call from the desk stating that she has only one session remaining and not 2, and then spends over 30 minutes arguing with them on the correct number of remaining. My wife then received a text message from the owner claiming that they had to use one of the booked sessions to cover the cost of the masseuse that had been booked for my wife for a session my wife never had because she was at work and in a dead zone when a confirmation message was sent.... So rather than calling her when a response was not received, they claim she NC/NS on a session, which was never confirmed. This owner is a thief and liar. I've often seen her sitting in the lobby chatting, but she will never approach you in person to address your concerns instead working through text or email where, "its safer?" She has no idea how to do what her team does and clearly cannot work the front desk, as she'll make deals with customers and then forget to tell the front desk who then knows nothing about them or "never saw the notes she left". It's now 9:30 on a Sunday evening and she's texting my wife. Rather than being an adult and a professional and CALLING her to speak directly, she's texting her, long after when these conversations should have occurred - 6 hours ago: By waiting to have the conversation at 930pm, she's now claiming my wife is providing less than 24 hours notice if she doesn't accept the session at 530pm tomorrow and forfeiting the session. The BBB and home office will be getting calls... read more

Today, I had a 90-minute massage session with Kemba, and it was the worst massage experience I have ever had. As a courtesy, I added a 20% tip, which is the minimum amount listed in large font on the desk. Right now, I am sitting at home and feel no difference after the session; my back and neck are still very tight. Here is what happened: The session started about 15 minutes late. After I undressed and lay on the massage table, I waited for a while, but he did not come in. I had to get up, open the door, and call him from the empty hallway. He finally came in a couple of minutes later. During the massage, he simply used his forearm to roll over my back and shoulders with oil, then moved on to my legs, arms, and neck, applying oil with a back-and-forth motion similar to putting on sunscreen. He added a slight stretch to my neck. During the session, I even suggested a couple of times that he apply more force to the massage, but nothing changed. He ended the session at 5:25 pm, although it was supposed to last until 5:30 pm. When I questioned him, he casually said it was about 80 minutes, as if that were normal. He didn't even break a sweat during the entire session. The reality is that the 90-minute session was only about 60-70 minutes. This kind of massage service is a scam. Avoid it at all costs. If I knew it was a set up like Massage Envy, I might not have gone. It's some sort of franchise. It was super easy to book an appointment, however, and the location was convenient too. The email list is very proactive in letting you know what time slots are available and with which practitioners as there are more than several practitioners available and a plethora of massage rooms. It's up to you if you want to buy their packages and what not or you can pay as you go, which is my personal preference. You can "claim" a $30 off first visit voucher on their website. The use of the word "claim" was helpful to me the specific day I visited in unraveling the bit of the Matrix I found myself untangling. Very new spot. It appeared that I was the only appointment. Pleasant reception staff. Minimalist but nice interior. My massage therapist was young. However, she had adept hands. Lighter touch, took her time on my problem spots, and didn't irritate w questions or talking. However, she could have warmed up the table, the room & her hands before I arrived. I was refreshed and limber after my 90 minutes and I was given a bottle of complimentary Poland Spring water. The music is homogenized zen. The massage table was very comfortable & the vibe was relaxing and quiet. Immaculate & large restroom. Next to Starbucks so parking is tight. $49 for 55 min new customer deal. The prices are very good, and incredible if you sign up for membership. I don't love membership style stuff but it's so flexible and they are not pushy at all. I knew Ian was a good fit from my first visit here! I've been seeing Ian for deep tissue work for over 2 years now and I always feel awesome when I leave! He checks in about the pressure throughout the massage to ensure I'm getting what I need from the session and is both personable and professional. Even after a gap in visits he remembered who I was and the spots that needed the most work! The front desk staff is also awesome. They are super accommodating and have been able to answer all my questions and help me figure out bookings even though they are not my home studio. I've been dealing with muscle spasms in my lower back (Piriformis and QL) and I saw Val today for a 90 minute aroma therapy massage. This was my first time at Elements and naturally I was a little nervous about how well this would go. Val was my massage therapist and she got right to work on my problem areas. I actually felt some temporary relief from the pain I've been experiencing over the past few weeks! She did a tremendous job on problem areas and normal areas alike. Looking forward to my next visit! I cancelled my membership due to a relocation back in Oct. The establishment gave me 60 days to use my credit. Of course it was forgotten about. I then returned in February to use my credit. I mentioned it to the front desk at the time. At no point in time did they say they would be charging my card $129 for services. I contacted the office & was told that the outline was sent to me in text. However, was not communicated again after. I am now out of $90 for a undisclosed policy. BE AWARE!!! read more

Recently, I had a 90 minute Himalayan Salt Stone massage which was so relaxing that I had to wait in the car for 10 minutes before driving. That's how relaxed I was. This is a review on their customer service, not the actual massage itself - the massage was fine. This issue happened back in September 2015 and I'm still dealing with the issue. I received a SpaFinder gift card for $25.00, so I chose Elements Massage as the place to redeem the card. I was a first time customer and there's a $49 (per person) promotion for a couples massage, so I made sure to contact them first to ask if I could use the gift card in conjunction with the promotion. They said yes, no problem. We arrived at the location, received our massage, and the woman at the front desk processed our gift card during the payment process. After we were basically done paying, the manager of the facility told her that gift cards cannot be used with a first time promotion and they needed to refund us the gift card. The manager took about 5 - 10 minutes to try to refund us the gift card. Finally, he goes, "okay, you should be all set," so I'm assuming at this point that I still have my $25 on the gift card. A few months later... I go to another massage place to try to use up the remaining funds on my gift card. They run the gift card... and confirm that it was used up back in September 2015. Therefore, I never got my money back, so Elements Massage basically charged me the full price (promotion price) and received $25 (less SpaFinder's fee) from SpaFinder - making more money than they should have. First, I contacted SpaFinder and they said they couldn't do anything, which I understand. I called Elements Massage several times for a few weeks and the manager, who seemed very nice, tried to help resolve this issue but says he can't tell SpaFinder to give us the full $25 back because then they will lose money. Okay... but you are basically netting $25 (less SpaFinder's fees) that you SHOULD NOT HAVE. Unacceptable! I haven't received any calls back at all and I've called Elements over three times to try to get this resolved. As you can probably tell, I'm so frustrated over this ordeal, and I'm done with this. Be forewarned on their SpaFinder/gift card policy because they do not make it easy. read more

My wife was a member with Elements Massage up until 5 minutes ago. Why? Because our 5 year old who was (against our advice) climbing the counter to get a snack, fell, and split her chin open. You know - kids being kids. How are these connected? My wife - being a respectful and responsible patron - called the shop to tell them that she would be unable to make her appointment today due to needing to make an impromptu ER trip to take care of our child. Please note that we actually took the time to call, and not simply stand them up. How did they respond? A $35 late cancellation fee. A lecture on policy when my wife implored them to show an ounce of empathy. We cancelled her membership. How did they respond then? They're going to charge us for this month - which we won't use. Next month as well. And they're still going to charge the cancellation fee. Round trip cost? Almost $160.00 in cost to us, them losing a customer, and reinforcing to me that some people just shouldn't be in business. read more

My wife and I had a terrible experience dealing with ownership. The massage was fine and the manager of this location was sincerely trying to help us resolve this situation. But I guess his boss was on a different page. The problem came when we tried to cancel our membership, which is apparently impossible if you no longer live in the area or are unwilling to transfer membership plan to another location. Our first attempted to cancel membership came in November of 2015. We were given the runaround and were unable to cancel the membership. So we were charged for another month in December. We again tried to cancel and we were again given the runaround, AND charged for another month of membership. Same series of events occurred in January, February, and March of 2016. So we continued to be charged $59/month x 5 months for something we tried to cancel in November. We eventually resolved by disputing the charges with our credit card company and blocking them from being able to charge us for a recurring membership that we tried 6 times to cancel. Very dishonest corporate management and customer service going on with this company. Never experienced anything like this before. read more

There was a clock in the room so it was hard not to make note of the time. One massage was booked for a deep tissue with heavy pressure... the person who was assigned, specialised in light to medium touch. Not a perfect match at all. Mine was great but the front of the house definitely ruined my experience. To say the owner was going to charge us if we didn't provide the Groupon is a little aggressive and not necessary since we had the massages at 4pm last Saturday and it's 10am the next week. From the incredibly nice front desk, the relaxing rooms with ambient music, the professionalism, the cleanliness to the INSANE massages! I've not had one massage there that is not fantastic (and I've had more massages in my life than should be allowed). I've had a membership at Elements in Fairfield for a number of years. Ordinarily I've stayed away from chains as I assumed they wouldn't have amazing therapists, but I was wrong. I went to a few, who were good, but once I had a massage with Brandon, I was hooked! Being taken care of by him regularly is such a treat that is relaxing, relieves tension and helps keep my muscles flexible. He is wonderful in all the right ways. He has strong hands, but also a gentle touch. He intuitively knows where to go without you telling him, but he will always ask you what you need that day. He adjusts to match you. Plus, he is just a warm lovely person. I always schedule ahead of time, because he gets booked up well in advance. It's a nice environment with comfortable rooms and tables. I got a Groupon for Elements and I have to say the massage was very nice. Jill did a very good job, though the massage wasn't a full hour as advertised. My issue is with the smarmy business practices. I go to get massages to relax. I felt EXTREMELY pressured to buy into a membership to the spa, and the manager focused on that before and after the massage. Within minutes my feeling of relaxation turned to feeling uncomfortable with this unnecessary pressure. If I want to come back, I will book a service again. I couldn't wait to get out of there. The manager was actually mock whispering to me that he would knock off $30 if I started my membership then. That was no discount; that was the membership price. MY membership at Elements on Black Rock Turnpike has been fabulous. I thought about cancelling because I am currently job searching, but I can't bring myself to do it. It reminds me to make time for myself and enjoy a healthy massage - it does wonders for the mind and body. I've been seeing Diane - an ultimate, knowledgeable and skilled professional. She has suggested various areas of therapy for me and my problem back and shoulders and I've walked out pain free and so relaxed. Her technique is amazing and I highly recommend her. The appointments fill FAST, so as soon as you see an opening that suits your timing book it! I've given my husband massage certificates and he has been extremely happy with the service as well (and he has had back surgery). Joe, the manager, is great. He is the one who signed me up, with very little pressure. It's been a year already, I think. Robin has also been very nice and greets everyone with warmth. The facility is very clean and comfortable and the cucumber lemon water is great! It's true, the massages are not quite the 60 minutes, (and I get undressed super quick) - my husband brought that to my attention. That may be to account for the time to undress and dress - not sure.
