My masseuse, Erin, was professional, kind, highly skilled, and committed to providing me with an individualized massage that suited my needs. I have had several massages, but I have to say this one was the best I've ever had. Sometimes a massage can be painful, but Erin put me at ease as she skillfully targeted those tense areas without any discomfort. She periodically asked if she was providing the right amount of pressure to ensure that I was comfortable. I left feeling completely relaxed and renewed! Their business tactics are distasteful. My massage was fine, and I would give this place a good review if it weren't for how they handled my payment. The woman at the front desk wanted to automatically sign me up for their 59.99 monthly services. I was unsure and expressed my concern a few times, but she was very persuasive and told me I could just call and cancel. That was incorrect information. I had to call and also go in to sign paperwork for cancellation. They also wanted to charge for the first month because there was a 30 day cancellation fee. I was never informed of this. I got a Groupon gift certificate for a massage as a Christmas gift. When I called back in the beginning of February to make an appt, I was told since I've been there once before that I couldn't use it. I completely understand that groupons are for 1st time customers only but this was a gift and how in the world is that person supposed to know I've been there before?? I was told a manager would call me back, they didn't. So I called again a month later, same story, made my 3rd call, guess what??? A manager will call me back. Went because I was given a gift card that stated it included gratuity. The "deep tissue massage" was a joke. I kept asking for a stronger massage when the masseuse asked for input and it was no different. You can hear people talking in the hallways. The masseuse tried to BS me that since I haven't had a massage in a while I would have to get multiple massages subsequently that could be deeper/stronger. I left annoyed and the front desk had the nerve to try to coerce me to sign up for monthly massages and also stated extra gratuity was welcomed. They already made that clear with the envelope they leave with your belongings in the massage room. I had opened a membership with Elements massage before the covid pandemic. I paid every month on time and had no problems. Once the pandemic started, and businesses were closed due to quarantine, they continued to bill me even though they were closed. I noticed the charges and called them to have the charges reversed. They refused and I wound up calling my credit card company to file a dispute. The credit card company reversed the charges. I recently found a gift card that my wife purchased for me while we had the membership for a cost of $105. I called to make an appointment to use the gift card and this business is telling me that I need to reimburse them $30 for the chargeback fees before I can use the gift card I already paid for. When I first called to book my appointment, the woman I spoke to told me that in the state of CT gift cards do not expire. Well the owner just called me back after noticing that I am trying to use my gift card that is already paid for and she is telling me the gift card was applied to (my now closed account) so it expired after a year. So this business is scamming their gift card customers by applying the gift cards to accounts so they can workaround the law in CT that gift cards do not expire. Stay away from this place at all costs. If you insist on going here, keep a close eye on your bank statements because they are greedy and sneaky. read more

I give Elements Massage a one due to fact I went in for a couples massage and I arrived earlier then my partner as it was a work day, however I sat there for ten minutes and the two females working front desk never once told me the other massage girl didn't come in to do my partner . WTH ... The girls told us when he arrived . My partner the genuine guy he is told me to stay and get mine done and girls in front told him they would take off from his Groupon he purchased .. I started a membership here after I had a little trouble getting into other places on short notice. Let me say this, Elements attracts experienced therapist who really know what they are doing. When she tried to redeem the Groupon for just the face value that was paid the owner denied her attempt to do so, even after hearing the story. I have never been disappointed. All the therapists are wonderful and know how to treat every symptom, pain point, issue, etc. I went in once with a horrible stiff next and left able to move it. My right leg was in severe pain for over a year due to Piriformis Syndrome. After a few sessions, my leg has now little to no pain. Makes me wish I knew sooner how much they could help and save me from trips to the doctor. read more

Recently found this place on Groupon and expected great things from the reviews. Only to find it depends what you re used to. The front desk associate was pleasant. The therapists seemed nice and friendly -- but later showed their level of expertise. We booked a couples massage and it is fair say we both labeled our experience as questionable. My masseuse was a male and pretty much rubbed me the whole time with his dry bare hands minimal lotion or anything. By the feel of his techniques and attempts he felt like a beginner. I have had many massages before And never did I feel so unmoved in a 60 minute massage before. My boyfriend had a woman who he expressed was "okay" as he said she definitely used more Lotion but in the middle of our massage my masseuse Went over to instruct her on what to do in the middle of the massage. All in all, if you re looking for a day of pampering where you get an all around amazing massage where you feel all your knots worked out and you feel brand new, I don't think this is the place for you despite their "best massage" guarantee. read more

My experience with the owner Howard. My aunt was a devoted customer to Elements Massage but she had to discontinue her month to month membership due to unfortunate events. In the beginning of October, she spoke to one of the employees, explained to them her situation, and requested information regarding the appropriate steps to take in order to cancel her contract. The man told her that she needs to come at the end of the month and terminate with them then. Now my aunt has a strong accent and is misunderstood frequently. So today she was unbelievably upset when she found out she got charged for a service she was NOT using. She also moved out of state and couldn't possibly go there. She tried calling but no one picked up (hmm). I then called and explained the situation to Anna. She placed me on hold. She relayed the issue and told me that the owner told her that he will contact us when he gets the chance. I pleaded with her to give me a more definite answer because my aunt was in tears. Later on Howard called me and I was glad that he replied so fast. On the phone with Howard. I proceeded to repeat the situation to Howard. I also told him that in previous months, my aunt couldn't even utilize her membership due to a contagious fungal infection. She didn't want to make her condition progress or spread. Instead of empathizing with my aunt, he just wanted to argue. He kept questioning me regarding my previous conversation with Anna. I DIDN'T want to fight, I just wanted a solution. After all the mistake was on there end. He talked over me and even offered me my aunts membership so he wouldn't have to refund her. He then said that he needed to speak to his partner on Tuesday. He then told me his wife was the other owner and put me on speaker so she can hear me. I asked him if I can explain to her the situation and he said he was the reasonable one and will handle it. ( extremely contradicting, first you have to speak to your partner later. Next thing you know, she is right next to you.) How can you put down your business partner and say you are the reasonable one? When I said that to him he asked me how I can sleep at night because I was a "miserable person." He told my aunt to get me off the phone because I had no place to even get involved. Fine. I got off the phone and he explained to her that the worse thing she did was involve me and now he needed to think about her refund. (wait... so if I have no involvement, why did my involvement effect her refund. I am not the customer, she was.) He even told me that although I was calm, he felt that I was threatening him because I mentioned yelp. It was a surreal conversation. Multiple times I begged with him to help my aunt but he just called to fight, belittle, and call me names. The refund was only ninety-nine dollars. This whole thing could have been avoided but he let his ego get the best of him and was caught up on my mentioning Yelp. She didn't do anything wrong. Her english isn't the best but she's still a person. Her language never stopped her from taking care of our elderly but it stopped her from being treated equally. Giving this place 1 Star and that's for the massage therapists, which are fantastic. The folks running this place, not so much. They have been closed since March 17th due to covid, I check my credit card statement and what do you know, charges for April and May, while they are closed. I could not believe they never suspended billing. I first called to see if I could freeze my membership since we have no idea when they will reopen and more importantly, when my wife and I will feel comfortable going to get massages again post covid. Robin tells me they don't do anything like that. I ask about cancelling my membership and she basically threatens me with "if you cancel you have 60 days to use the sessions on your account or you lose them". I figured I'd just keep the account open and save myself the stress. I thought about it some more and $70/month for something I can't use is a lot of money + I shouldn't be getting billed while they are closed! So I call back to cancel membership. Well now, suspending your membership for 3 months is an option and if I want to cancel they want to charge me 1 more time upon canceling, and don't want to refund April or May...WHEN THEY WERE CLOSED. I had to threaten with opening a dispute for Robin to tell me "she would think about it" and call me back. She finally did agree to refund my 2 months and waive the final months charge but it was a headache. The massage therapists here are great but management needs to get it together. Had they just refunded my charges and been understanding of members canceling during a pandemic I would have gladly came back when covid was over. However, I'll take my money a few doors down in the same shopping plaza, to Massage Envy and give them a try. read more

I received a gift certificate for Christmas which was purchased at the Long Meadow Mass salon. The purchaser was assured I could use it in Ct. After I had my massage they said they wouldn't honer it because it said so in the certificate. The young girl working at the desk said I should have read it however I have her my certificate way before I went in. Why didn't SHE read it??? It was obviously s miscommunication but it's poor business not to honor it. My whole massage experience was ruined. Because I had to pay out of pocket I couldn't leave a tip at that time for the masseuse Stacy who was excellent. The rude girl (who wouldn't give me her name because I said I was going to do a review) thought it was not fair i didn't leave a tip at that time. I agreed with her but I wasn't able to because they didn't honor my gift certificate. I have to shout out Val who is incredibly skilled, passionate, thorough and amazing. I have been going to Val for months and look forward to every session I have with her weeks in advance! She truly cares about her client and puts 150% effort and attention into the work she is doing, which can be hard to find these days. Val is so skilled at targeting the areas that I have tension/knots and works on them until they are released. Even with the time consuming troublesome spots, she still times everything so well and I always feel very happy and am beyond satisfied after each session. Val is so thoughtful with her work; I remember once I was complaining about ongoing sinus issues and she threw in a sinus massage at the end which was a lovely surprise and an appreciated touch! I could go on about how wonderful Val is for ages. Not to mention I have fallen asleep many times during our sessions! I would highly recommend booking with Val! I also have to say that the front staff has always been warm and friendly towards me and is always happy to help when I've needed to reschedule. Thank you Val!! read more

I had received a wonderful massage in Portsmouth NH through an Elements franchise. I wanted to treat my son, who has hurt his back. I called and asked for a masseuse who specialized in deep tissue massage and paid for a 90 minute massage. I just called my son and he said it was an awful massage. The masseuse didn't speak English very well and could not understand what he was saying about where his back pain was. He feels worse than when he went in. Very poor business practice to assign him to someone who didn't know what she was doing. He won't be going back. read more

I've given this place ample time before I chose to write this review but I am now left with no choice. I came here for a massage back in July. The massage was ok. After paying for the massage I was pretty much pressured/talked into signing up for the $59 per month deduction from my flexible spending account for monthly massages for my wife and I. But i decided to do it because I was told that I could cancel if I changed my mind before the payment hit my account. After discussing with my wife I decided to call the next day and cancel and was told I had to come in and fill out a cancellation form. So shortly thereafter on a Saturday I came in with my wife to fill out the cancellation form and left. I was told that nothing had yet hit my account and that all was well. So last week in reviewing my Flexible Spending account I find that Elements has made 3 charges to my account between August and October. I called and emailed to explain the situation. I received one callback where they said they could remove one of the charges but I would still have to pay 2 months. Ridiculous. I was then told that a Manager would call me back. No phone call. I've also emailed them several times to no avail. They've gone radio silent. This place is basically fraudulent and has awful customer service. How do you lose a cancellation form? They act like I'm trying to get out of a car lease. Better yet, when a customer says they filled out the cancellation form and you have no evidence of it, either the customer is lying or you've got some holes in your administration. At the very least for potential reputational damage and best business practices alone, you should refund the money and be done with it. Its obvious I am not coming back. Do the right thing!. In short, Elements is a complete joke. *Two days after writing this review I get a call from elements not to refund my money, but to ask me if I planned on using the three months of charges on my account. Took my girlfriend for a couples massage. The staff were friendly and the whole atmosphere was very comfortable. The massage itself was very soothing and they successfully removed any muscle aches or knots either of us had. The music soundtrack was not exactly to our taste however, I thought it was rather somber and my girlfriend got a cave/tribal sacrifice type vibe. Other than that the only thing lacking from our experience were candles and incense. For the price it was a deal and we feel great! read more

Do not sign up for a contract. When you decide to stop the monthly plan they harass you and threaten to contact a collection agency. The overall experience with this facility left a very bad taste in my mouth. Very high pressure - the massages are hit or miss. Some are very good but some are not. Not a good experience. read more
