I specifically picked this place because it had availabilty for a prenatal massage, but I really feel like it was a complete waste of time and money. I was upfront about the fact that I wanted to focus on my lower back because...pregnant. This was before I had undressed, so there was plenty of time for him to communicate expectations. At the end of the massage, the therapist had literally done everything except my lower back. When he asked if there was anywhere that needed attention, I reminded him that the one area I needed relief had been completely untouched. It wasn't until then that he told me that he couldn't really do much in that area because I was pregnant. Not only was that omitted from the conversation at the beginning, I've had a prenatal massage where that wasn't an issue. So...if you can't help your pregnant client with their #1 pain issue, why are you taking pregnant clients? My back hurts just as much 24 hours later as it did when I went in yesterday. COMPLETE waste of money. I feel lied to and taken advantage of. I'm giving the place a 2 star review in the off-chance that it's a decent experience for anyone not getting a prenatal massage, but if you're pregnant, skip this place. They should remove prenatal massage from their services list. read more

I've been to a couple different Elements Massage (Lake Oswego, Tanasbourne) for MEDICAL MASSAGE, with focus on both legs and feet for lower peripheral neuropathy along with some lower back pain and muscle tension and cramping issues from a laminectomy at L3 as well. Out of every treatment option under the sun, massage therapy is the most useful. No drugs, PT or surgery even come close toward relief and recovery after over six years of dealing with my conditions. Sadly most insurance doesn't cover massage or has very limited visits per year so it gets expensive fast, even though my doctors would prescribe it perpetually for the medical benefits if I requested it. My latest visit at Tanasbourne in late April of 2024 was 90 minutes with Kat, she did a fantastic job, dug in deep with hard pressure as I prefer, light massage does nothing for severe neuropathy and preventing debilitating muscle cramping. Deep tissue is the way to go, on scale of 4-5 with 5 being hard pressure pain in a good way, she put in a solid 3-4. PROS: - Have always had great DEEP TISSUE massages every visit by a man or woman, therapists have been well qualified. - Every visit the massage therapist listened and focused on the areas requested (after years of severe neuropathy I know where to focus). - ALWAYS feel better after a deep, and sometimes painful massage, the kind where it hurts so good. - All professional, no feeling of being uncomfortable or pressured to tip. - Clean and modern facilities. - Mellow typical massage music. - Tables that raise and lower and are heated. - Can usually accommodate a quick same day schedule. - Most locations are easily accessible and disabled friendly. CONS: - No direct billing to insurance (some locations used to do this, but stopped), but can provide you with an invoice. - Does not provide a hot moist towel at end like many places do to wipe off any lingering lotion or oil, even though they have them and sometimes use them during your massage. Even less fancy places provide a dry towel. Nothing here, I guess you could use the massage table sheets. - Massage oil or lotion had a slight scent, nothing unpleasant or too strong, but noticeable. - Encourages tipping, even for medical massage (which shouldn't be required). ... While I don't mind tipping a little for Medical Massage, it is often deemed as necessary by medical professionals, just like Physical Therapy. Some massage therapist charge a higher rate for 'Medical Massage' and therefore make note that gratuity is not necessary as it's basically included in the rate. The benefits towards positive health with massage is far greater than the world, insurance or science might document, sort of like chiropractors, even though many insurance are starting to accept them now as legitimate practice. I mean, we don't tip chiropractors, PT, primary care doctors or surgeons?!? Some chiropractors have onsite massage, but my luck with finding a good deep tissue massage therapist through a chiropractor has yet to happen, probably because it's a lot of work and requires a lot of strength and stamina to dig in deep. Solution -- establishments need to pay their massage therapist a far better base rate, then tipping wouldn't be even be a question. My guess is that most chiropractors and massage studios don't pay their therapist a higher rate for 'Medical Massage' grade therapy, when they should ... The industry needs to change their mindset. SUMMARY: Elements seems to hire qualified massage therapists, no complaints there. Rates are on the higher side. Biggest downside is on the corporation as a whole being too lazy and cheap to bill insurance directly and not paying extra to their therapist for Medical Massage, and of course no towels for cleaning yourself up before exiting. read more

Love the environment here. Frederic is amazing, I carry all of the tension in my shoulders and upper back, which unfortunately causes horrible headaches. Frederic is wonderful at getting my shoulders and back to relax, significantly reducing the number of headaches I get. He's so respectful and aware that as a woman, having a male massage therapist can sometimes be intimidating. He goes above and beyond to make you feel completely comfortable. read more

I went to Elements Masaage in Tanasbourne on 10/2. I had scheduled it online and immediately got a call 5 mins later saying that time didn't work out. What's the point of having an online system if it's inaccurate? The session started late (even though I arrived 15 mins before), yet ended a couple mins before the hour mark. Feel like I was shorted time. During the massage, there was a loud banging sound coming from the hall that was very distracting. Sounded like the dryer clunking about. I paid $15 extra for aromatherapy which included essential oils on 3 cotton balls in a bag place near my head. Nothing else! Couldn't even smell it when I turned to my back. The masseuse massaged the oddest places like my armpits and ribs. It was very painful. When I paid on my way out, I was asked how much I wanted to add for tip to my credit card payment. I said "$15" to later realize she charged 15% instead which gave wayyyy more of a tip than expected. Let's clarify next time! I'll be looking for other massage opportunities in the area. I was visiting Oregon this past week and have been so busy with cleaning out my storage unit that I wanted to get a massage and found Elements Massage on Groupon. They had a 50% off a 90-min massage which they honored the Groupon price (so about $72.50). Bc they just started the CBD Herbal-Infused Oil and I came in very sore and stiff, I decided to try it which is a $30 add-on service. I came on a Saturday night and got Drew as my massage therapist. He's a tall and a pretty big guy so he was perfect at giving me the firm pressure that I needed. He focused a lot on my back and arms since all that moving and sorting through my personal belongings took a toil on my back and arms. He also took time to massage my psoas and taught me some stretches for my low back, psoas and that chicken wing muscle that I can't think of the name right now. Drew is very good at what he does even though he is a fairly new licensed therapist. If I was to come back to Oregon just to visit, I would definitely come back to Elements Massage and ask for Drew again. read more

I had been a few other times prior, and had great massages from Casey and Frederick. However, they were unavailable so I booked with a new masseuse, Catherine, per recommendation from the receptionist. My experience was downright awful. The massage was not pleasant. There was no method to her massage and she did super weird spots like my armpit which was very unpleasant. When the massage was done, and I met her in the hall there was no talk of how my experience was or how I was feeling. She wished me a good day and that was it. I will absolutely not be going back and booking with Catherine again. read more

Best place to get a massage. I went here for my first ever massage and they made me feel so comfortable and like I could really explain what was hurting and they really got to the bottom of it and I left feeling wonderful. They don't pressure the membership on you at all but it was something I wanted and they helped me sign up very quickly and easily. I've been going for a little over a year now and have never had a bad massage. They are very upfront about their therapists specialties are and help you pick who would be the best fit for you. I've been seeing Kat for a year and she has been incredible! She always makes me feel comfortable and does a wonderful job. When she is gone or our schedules don't line up I see Fern who is also incredibly talented. They both find what is bothering you even if you didn't realize it was there yourself they are great about listening to you and not pushing anything too hard but hard enough it does something. My experience was always excellent. Since the day I arrived with neck pain and they front desk staff recommended Cory. He did an excellent job not only pain was almost gone my headache as well. He takes the time in asking about the pain and explaining what technique he'll use. Very knowledgeable and respectful. By the end of my massages I always feel refreshed and relaxed. I've became a regular now since massage helps me with my neck pain. The place as far as I could see is clean and nice. I'm happy that I've found elements. I arrived 15 minutes early, and the receptionist was very nice. When I got called back, it was promptly at 7. I explained my trouble areas and undressed as quickly as possible. My first issue was that he started it 7 minutes late but still ended promptly at 8:00, so a 53 minute massage. Second, it was a prenatal massage, and i emphasized how much my lower back has been hurting and how I'd like him to focus on that. He did not even touch my lower back. Instead he focused a majority of his time on the tension in my shoulders. Their prices are also wrong online so the receptionist over charged, but quickly adjusted it once I told her. read more

They accept HSA as well! I have tried other massage places around Hillsboro. Found them decent and not just very cosmetic massage. My massage therapist was warm and she kept confirming the pressure time to time. I had lot of muscle stiffness and won't say it is gone but I wouldn't mind going back to the same therapist when I get time. I have been to other massage chains and found them more professional and thankfully not selling their products in the end. Over all a nice experience! read more

It's a very customizable experience which I wasn't used to making decisions for table warmth, locations to massage etc, but it was nice having input for problem areas! Front desk staff was welcoming, professional and friendly. Facility was very clean and peaceful in spite of being located within a strip mall. I was in town on business with back and neck pain from traveling and stress. They put me in Delayne's (sp?) capable hands and I received a great massage. She was sensitive to how the experience was going for me, asking me now and then if she should use more pressure or less. Even though she knew I was only in town for two nights and therefore wouldn't be a repeat customer, it was important to her that I receive the pain relief and experience that I paid for. Booked a massage via online with a therapist that did sports massage. I got a call back shortly saying she was unavailable even though the online schedule said otherwise. Instead, they said another therapist (new therapist) would be a good fit. I asked if she also did sports massage and the girl said oh yeah, she's wonderful. Fast forward to my massage. I asked the therapist to focus on the shoulders, traps, rotator-scapula area. What I got was basically a rub down. Therapist spent the last 5 mins on my the areas I wanted addressed. I seriously thought about getting up and leaving but I didn't want to be disrespectful so I just laid there. I emailed the owner, stating my dissatisfaction. Obviously they wanted to fill up a new therapists schedule and disregarded what the needs of the client was. I was looking for a new massage therapist as my current one was out in tigard. The owner gave me a call and offered a free massage with someone who would be a better fit. I declined, because that should've been done on my first appt. With so many choices around, I will look elsewhere. read more

Elements Massage is a great place to get your body worked on. The prices are reasonable, everyone is friendly and they seem to always be able to squeeze me in last minute. Gotta send a shout out to my Masseuse Chelsi! I have only gone to her a couple of times, but she is da bomb! Anyway-- I am so used to the other chains around town having super unprofessional attitudes. (I know you all know what i'm talking about too). I booked an appointment online and my booking said it was confirmed. I show up, after driving 20 miles to get here to find out that my appointment was not confirmed but "requested" and that it is never "confirmed" until they have credit card information. No one called me to get that information and it didn't prompt me to when I booked. And they did NOTHING to accommodate me. They didn't even offer a discount on a future massage. Horrible customer service, massage factory I'm guessing (as I would have been a first-time customer). This is no reflection on the therapists there, but the customer service and inability/unwillingness to try to make it up to me was staggering. I will not be returning. read more

So I was a member here briefly but their accounting is not professional in any way. I noticed a $100 charge on my bank statement yet my membership fee was only $60 and it was way too early for the charge to be applied as well. The weirdest part of this was that the card that was charged was not the card I had on file. Anyways, I call them and say "Hey you charged me $100 what's going on?" And apparently they had charged my card for someone else's massage. Never heard from the manager or owner to apologize. Not professional and kind of worrisome how lax they are with keeping track of credit card numbers. I won't be back or recommending them. read more

After dealing with excruciating back pain from a pinched nerve, I sought out a massage therapist in the Hillsboro area on a Saturday. Elements was the only place I could find with an opening. I was greeted by Becca at the front desk and filled out a couple forms. It was my first ever professional massage so I was not sure what to expect. My therapist was Elizabeth and I quickly explained what was going on. My session was directed at the problem area and I spent an hour with her. She wasted no time getting to work and I felt SOOO much better afterward. Although she only worked on my upper body - it felt like a total body experience. Amazing to say the least. I will be back for sure. As I understand it, this business is under new management and the attitude of everyone I spoke with reflect that very thing. They speak very highly of the new owner and it shows. So, whatever terrible experience you may have had in the past - give them another go. read more

The front desk was really polite and professional. I have to say, this was a horrible massage. I felt as though the person who was giving me my massage had not had any training. I was tickled and rubbed (yuck) but not properly massaged. I honestly wanted to get up and leave after 10 minutes. I had messed up my neck and shoulder and he paid extra attention to it and gave me a lot of tips to help it heal further. He's young, but he certainly knows what he's doing! Great people, great place. Staff are all very friendly and they are very active in the community too. Saw the owner at Rotary Club, Oregon Food Bank and a couple local gyms. Massage is great with reasonable prices for real professionals so you're not gambling with the quality of the massage you will get. They do prenatal massage for my wife too which she loves. read more
