I'm excited to review my experience here, because it was nothing short of amazing! Also, I need to put this out there.. I read the 1 star reviews, and they made absolutely no sense to me, and it's unfortunate that they felt the way they did. I would honestly say that they should give him another try!! I honestly don't know how anyone could think Zakarie was anything short of amazing and professional. None the less, I will say it now, and will say it later... I HIGHLY recommend seeing Zakarie (if you want a great massage, and lots of really helpful information (if you ask).) Also, be warned.. I am going to say that I appreciated many things in this review. (Enjoy!) Let me take you on a walk through my experience here.. Once I parked in the parking lot, I walked in and no one was at the front desk (I had no idea anyone was supposed to be there, so I decided to wander around on my own so I wasn't late) I was able to find suite 23, and get to my appt on time (FEW!). I knocked on the door, and was promptly greeted, and asked to sit down and chat about what I needed worked on. The rooms vibe was very calm, and it was very clean, and set up in a very accessible way. Once we chatted for a few minutes, he gave me a couple more to get situated on the table. The table heating thing was on, and I had just got off work and was still pretty warm.. So I asked if he could turn it down or off, and he immediately shut it off and made sure I was fine. (I appreciated that, and didn't want to be drenched in sweat during my massage!! Hahaha) He started on my upper back, and felt around to see what was tight and how he was going to go about it. I was in dire need of a real deep tissue massage, because I am a full time student, working full time in a full active roll at work that has me standing for 7+hrs, and workout 6-7 times a week in addition to that. So let me tell you I WAS READY!! But then, I realized I really don't know which spots connect to where and how tight certain parts of my body were, and when they were worked on OH BOY did I feel it. (Note; it didn't hurt, and I was not uncomfortable at all! Just slightly unprepared for how tense I was! Haha) I just started laughing and said (on multiple occasions) that my muscles were a lot tighter than I thought (which was very true!) At one point, he stepped out for a few minutes (I think it was a few minutes.. I was so relaxed that I started dozing off, so I really don't know) haha but once he came Back, he acknowledged that he stepped away, and added a little time onto the actual massage. (Which I also really appreciated!) Zakarie was very knowledgeable, and I really appreciated it! Towards the end, he helped loosen up the area between my shoulder and my peck (I don't remember what it's called now.. oops..) But I do remember him having me lay as flat as I could, but my shoulders were not touching the table... Which was SUPER WEIRD to have pointed out, because I never realized... But once he stretched my arms around a couple times, my shoulders basically splat back onto the table mostly relaxed. I was so surprised I was so tense, and still am surprised how off my shoulders were haha Once the massage was over, he gave me some more information about how I could stretch, which was very helpful as well! This was seriously one of my top 3 favorite massages I've ever gotten, and I learned some stuff too (which I always like!) Honestly I probably missed a couple things, but overall I had a wonderful experience! HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend. read more

After a bad week of continued cold weather in Chicago followed by a 4 hour flight to Portland I was in rough shape. I reached out to Remedy Massage Therapy & they communicated back within an hour of time availability. I've had plenty of massage therapists and being a bigger guy I have trouble finding anyone with the strength to dig in & unlock my shoulders/neck, but Zak was able to handle it. His methodical approach left me wondering about all the other massages I've had. So many of them bounce around without really coordinating one area with another but that wasn't the case here. In fact, he has gone over our allotted time. His studio is very comfortable and welcoming. I have seen Zak a few times and always left satisfied. I have followed Zak from a previous office to his own clinic and I will never regret it. He has been working on my issues, and there are several, for about a year and a half and he as been able to get into my lower back and start loosening it up and healing. He is a super listener and adjusts every massage to the way I am feeling and what my current challenge is. I haven't found another LMT that could give me these results!! Truly the worst experience I have had. I arrived 10 minutes early. Waited. Finally the massage therapist came out at 1:06 pm. Little late. No big deal. Doesn't apologize or mention it tho so I figure there is no rush and I will not be shorted. Go in. He takes his time talking. Not acting like there is a rush to get me on to get my time in. About 10 minutes in he finally let's me in to the massage area and let's me get on the table. I get on. I wait. About 5 minutes. Then I remember to put my hair up so I get up and then get back on the table. Wait. Wait wait. Seems like a while. Cant tell the time since I'm on the table face down. I then realize it's taking forever for him to return. So I say oh well and get dressed and go to the bathroom. I get back. Get undressed again. And lay on the table. And still it took a few minutes for him to come in the room. He did not address my neck like I asked him to. I told him I love my feet massaged and he seriously didnt even touch my toes. And after massaged them went and washed his hands which took a couple minutes and then came back to massage the rest of my body. It was so bizarre. And then when it was over I checked the clock and he got me off the table at 2:24 pm. So in that I lost 12 minutes alone. Not to mention all the time I waited while he interviewed me and then waited forever while I was first on the table. I'm amazed anyone has written him a good review. He spoke during the massage and it was annoying. I didn't try to talk. I wasn't trying to be rude either tho. I shouldn't have to say please be quiet. I have waited a while to write this review so I could cool down because I was honestly quite livid after I left. It was a waste of time and money. I understand massage therapist are not mind readers. Doesn't mean they should talk about things that have nothing to do with the massage at hand. I understand they have intake to do. Doesn't mean they should act like we aren't taking up the time I have paid for. A 90 minute massage should take 90 minutes. Not 65. I am aware that you would stay away from areas that look as though they are not safe for you to work on. My toes were clean. And perfectly safe. No cuts. Nothing gross. I even painted them. And as a professional myself I understand that you would want to wash your hands after working my perfectly clean feet. But the fact you chose to waste time between the massage shows you should probably rethink when you do feet. At the end would save us both time. And you barely worked my neck. I have been getting massages for over 10 years and this was by far the worst I have ever received. Not a sorry for being late either while I was in the waiting room or when you returned after 15 minutes while I was on the table. 3 to 5 minutes sort of makes sense. But when you have a divider you are perfectly capable of checking on me within that time frame. And you didnt. You left me in the table area for at the very least 15 minutes. So that plus the 12 minutes you shorted me plus the good 7 minutes you took to intake me was 34 minutes out of my paid time. So a 90 minute massage was less than an hour long total. That's not ok. But hey go ahead and reply as if you not doing a proper job was my fault. read more

I like how the rates are listed on his website and that he can tailor the massage depending on the need. He is again my "go-to" massage therapist. I was extremely impressed with my experience. I was a few minutes late to my appointment, I called to let him know and he did not short me on time despite me arriving a few minutes late. Zac has great knowledge of the human body and really understood what I needed without me having to explain it in great detail. I left feeling the best I have in a long time. I will definitely be back. It made me realize that massages by him specifically would be very beneficial for me! It's always interesting to see such drastic difference in reviews, but I can tell that the negative reviews that have occurred, occurred due to challenging times for the business owner. I went in to see Zack with hope to get relief from my neck & back pain. I have been seeing a chiropractor & was excited to get my first massage. I have had students practice on me so I had somewhat of an idea what to expect. I'm sad to say I did not get any relief, nor will he return my 20$ extra I accidentally tipped him on top of the 9$ I had tipped him. I love to tip generously but I did not like the experience & I thought 9$ Tip for the bad experience was fair. Cons: .Room next door gets loud with people & he doesn't mention it or turn up the music. .He talks the entire time which I normally enjoy but he kept repeating the same question about how big the pot was the fell and hit me. It distracted me & it just felt like he was moisturizing my skin & not actually massaging my muscles. I don't recommend getting a deep tissue massage from him because he does not apply any pressure at all. Your not a mind reader & your not good at deep tissue either. My injury was weeks prior & the bruises you assumed were from my injury were from the roller stick I use to massage it. I also think you did not focus on the areas I told you to for more than a minute or so & you used no pressure even on my fingers/hands. My upper arms you kept rubbing which would have been great had you used any pressure even the slightest. I want my 20$ but you refuse to contact me anymore by email/phone. Not sure why you are such a unprofessional & entitled person . You don't deserve my 30$! Nor the other 35$ I wasted. You are delusional if you think moisturizing me for an hour was worth the original 80$ plus tip that I would have paid without Groupon. It's been weeks since I heard from him. Terrible communication skills there Zach. Here is what he said to me when I suggested western union to get my 20$ back ( I don't know much about western union).. Never suggested he take time off or do special arrangements to get my money back to me...here is his arrogant response: "Western union costs money to send. So that is not an option for me. Also I can't afford to take time out of my work day for 20$ when an hour of my time costs $80, it's just not an efficient use of my time." Seriously? Who suggested he take time out of his work day? I responded and said I'd never suggest someone take time out of their work day and I just knew there was an app for western union and I'm not sure what is matter how much someone makes an hour I'd never expect someone to miss work for any amount of money. I arrived 5 minutes before my appointment which was at 1:00pm. Zak didn't come and get me until 1:12pm. Which I wasn't too upset about as I understand that things happen. My massage started around 1:18pm and it was suppose to be an hour massage. He finished at 2:05pm. So I got shorted 13 minutes even though I was on time (early in fact) for my appointment. What??? He is a good masseuse but the fact that he was late AND didn't give me my full time negates the fact that he's good. Both myself and my wife had great massages, but were charged full price when using groupon certificates that Zak acknowledged when we showed up for our appointments. I left several voice messages and sent him emails and got no responses back on why we were not credited back. This is a Groupon purchase and the recorded message says to book on line but the online sites says to call for an appointment if is a Groupon.
