I have been getting my hair cut at elephant in the room for the past four months now and can honestly say I have enjoyed every experience. From the moment you walk in you are greeted by someone offered a beverage and if you have one a coat jacket hoodie, whatever it may be, they even offered to take it for you and hang it up. Just making sure that you're comfortable while you're getting your haircut or why you have to wait for your hair stylist. One thing that I really come to notice is that from the first time you go just for your one dollar haircut you get the same exact treatment every time you're there there is no difference you can walk into that one dollar haircut and get treated with respect and excellence every time And it's really cool to know that they're one dollar that you pay it for the very first time does go to donate to help others who are less fortunate. I will tell you that if you do anything other than the one dollar haircut there are fees I got my beard trimmed and there was like a $25 fee added on because of that so just be aware that there are certain extra fees. The haircut is one dollar but not everything else. When you go, it is about $50 per haircut unless you do their membership they have a lower level membership where you can pay about $46 I believe and in another year where you can pay about $40 monthly and I have signed up to do the monthly because it helps me to just remember to go in and get my haircut so I don't walk around looking shaggy all the time But with that monthly membership, you can go in anytime and just have them clean up your neck line to make sure you stay looking your best every day in between haircuts And I have never been to a place where they had special add-on features before where when you go and get your haircut, even for the very first time for that one dollar you can choose between about 4 to 5 different add-ons whether it's a face scrub a hand wax and a few other different options. Some things I've never tried before, but I have come to really enjoy having those things done. So for me this place overall is a very excellent establishment from the moment you walk in till you leave they definitely are friendly and if you just walk in off the street or make an appointment, you'll get excellent treatment. EITR lost a 7+ year loyal client for two reasons. They've gone political and I strongly disagree with their stance in following a wannabe dictator. Now, their waiting and merch area is plastered with gratuitous photos and books presumably authored of the owner. I applaud their success, but stick to hair and taking care of the customer. After my usual stylist, who consistently did an excellent job, was unavailable again due to illness, their attempt to make accommodations failed miserably. I would not accept a reduction of services while paying full price. Nor should anyone. I care about how and where my money is spent but consumer loyalty is fragile and must be earned, time and again. read more

She said that they would know if they have a cancellation at 12:15. I asked if she wanted my number to call me if there is and she' said not. They don't have a phone. I am a frequent EITR goer but the last visit I had yesterday ( 6/12 ) was rather sub-par. My barber Jayne? Jaynie? jay-jay? I don't remember her name but I asked her for a haircut she knew in advance she couldn't exactly replicate-- but still went through with it and only told me I didn't have the hair type for it until after it was done. no communication -- no chitchat-- just seemed like she was having an off day. Not sure if it was dull clippers or what but this place has dropped in quality since it first opened up. The place reeked of marijuana. Will not be going there again. I was admittedly 5-10 minutes late to my appointment because my daughter (15months old) was freaking out. The front desk attendant literally said that's too bad, there's no way we can take you. Max 10 minutes late and got scolded by someone I've never met. Will definitely NOT be going back. It would've been different if they would've been polite about it. This place is trash. Where to begin... First off, you need a membership, that will run you $40 a month. Second, you have to set up an appointment. Only problem is you can't do it same day, they will be booked. You might think, "well just set it up a week in advance," booked too. If it is for Saturday or Sunday, forget about it. Before you know it, the month is gone and you don't have a haircut, because you didn't think that you would need to hire a wedding planner that also does haircuts, so $40 down the drain. Third, if you looking for a manly place to get a haircut, this ain't it. They add a whole slew of useless junk, jacking up the price no doubt. Special hand wax treatment to make your hands softer? No thanks, what is next, mani/pedis? If you get a haircut every two weeks, this might be the place for you. Just be prepared for Saturday and Sunday to be booked and the only time is Tuesday when you are working... Fourth, for the price, the haircut is not worth it. The reason I'm giving it 3 out of 5 is the stress-inducing full court press they give you at the end of the experience to get you to sign up for a membership. He came back to me with a dried chunk of product in the front of his hair, a really mediocre fade, and an uneven beard. My wife had been wanting me to go here for awhile. The trendy, mens-only thing isn't usually my style, but I finally caved. When I called to make the appointment, the receptionist was helpful and set me up for a same-day. Over the phone, I was told since it was my first time, I'd be getting all of these extras for the price of the cheapest haircut. I'm not usually interested in spa-type stuff, but she made it sound pretty sweet. When I arrived, I was given a pretty hardcore sales pitch about their monthly membership before I had even tried it. Then the girl who was supposed to cut my hair said I had been squeezed in and she didn't have time to do all that extra stuff that had been promised over the phone. She said she would do it "next time." Made no sense because it's not like I had even asked to be squeezed in. She then cut my hair without washing it first. I've never had that happen ANYWHERE because I do use a styling cream that makes it hard to comb. Every stylist I've ever had washes my hair first, then cuts, then washes again. The shampoo and condition was really quick- no scalp massage or anything like that. I also didn't get the face massage that was advertised. The haircut turned out fine, but I get much better treatment at my normal salon, and it only costs a few dollars more. Definitely won't be back. read more

I had a excellent experience with my haircut. When you go for your haircut, you receive a complimentary drink (beer, soda, water) which is nice. I appreciated that this is appointment only so you don't have to wait in a line for a haircut. The hairdresser took time to ask me questions on my hair so she could do a good job (she did an excellent job). Everyone is very kind and the whole atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. When I went there was a promotion for a $1 haircut, which normally costs around $40. I would definitely recommend going to get a haircut at least once from here. read more
