This was such a lovely experience! We went for an intro level aerial class and left feeling calmer, well stretched and in a better headspace. The atmosphere is super approachable, we forgot mats and they were quick to provide at no cost, with the silks well spaced out and a clean vibe throughout the space and equipment. Our instructor was very calm, provided easy to follow instructions and many modifications and great reminders to help get in a better headspace. This is a wonderful place for aerial yoga! I hate downtown parking and was nervous about having to try to parallel park or drive around for metered parking, but yay there is a free parking garage pretty much attached to the studio. I was able to get a spot at 12:15pm on a Saturday, not sure how busy it gets or what you would do if there were no spots. We started the class with introductions of each person and a warm up in a circle. We would later emulate these poses with the silks so it was a valuable warm up. There were four silks and eight people so we all shared a silk, which actually turned out well because this is a full body workout and you need a break while your partner goes. This was a beginner class but we did some cool and challenging sequences, which I appreciated ! The teacher came and helped me step by step through a longer sequence and took pictures for me, I loved it!! I was sore for a few days after that... but I'll be back!! read more

I started attending classes at elevate about a year and a half ago and I have to say I really enjoy this studio! They have a good variety of aerial yoga classes and also offer aerial silks (which is so fun). They have a lot of amazing teachers, I would highly recommend Paige, Jess, and Mariah's classes if you want to learn fun and challenging tricks and skills in an accessible way, i would recommend Charley's classes if you want to get your booty whipped lol, I would recommend Amber and Sarah's classes if you want something more relaxing, and I would recommend Julie's classes if you want to spend time with a very cool and knowledgeable teacher and enjoy a great playlist. I love that the studio offers open studio time that allows students to practice on their own once they've reached a certain level of proficiency. I also appreciate how friendly the front desk staff are and the ability to text with them when you need something, that's very convenient. The studio also offers various community events, which have been fun. The only negatives include the price (it's expensive, but that's understandable as they can only have a small number of students in each class), the inconsistency in class levels (it can vary pretty greatly depending on the teacher, but once you've gone to the different teachers' classes you'll have an idea of what to expect), scheduling (you use an app to schedule your classes, which works well, but as I stated earlier, there are limited slots in each class, so, if you're not on top of things, you may miss out on booking a class you want to attend and end up waitlisted, which is always disappointing ), and the parking situation (it's actually great for downtown as they have a parking garage, so I can't really complain, but beware that on weekends and first Fridays and some other random times the garage is often full with people going to neighboring restaurants and whatnot and you may be stressfully trying to find a spot as the clock ticks ever closer to class start time.... Not that that's happened to me.... lol). If you're interested in trying something fun and new and getting a good workout in at the same time, this is a great place to do that! Loving my new hobby! I was invited to Elevate Yoga by Yelp Elite last month and I absolutely love it here. I purchased the "casual flyer" membership which gives you access to 4 classes per month. The 6 month package is $79 per month which is reasonable, about $19 per class. The scheduling app they use is very user friendly. I am loving how confident I feel after practice. Physically, I feel like I am increasing my upper body strength which is a goal of mine. Health & wellness is very important to me, and I am glad I found something unique that I truly enjoy. I have expectations when it comes to yoga of any sort: an instructor that knows about muscles and body movement, assistance in finding a pose if necessary, and a feeling of strength upon completion. I was here for months before I finally gave up trying to hit all these bullet points at once. I loved the idea of aerial yoga so much. I'd done aerial classes in the past, I've done plenty of yoga, so putting the two together seemed like a no brainer. But the silks put a pressure on my knees and neck that the instructors didn't fully assist me with. People on here talk about the community, but somehow I felt like it was more exclusionary than they intended. Classes were started with discussion of what was on each others' instagrams and in-jokes from previous classes. Sometimes a specific instructor would talk about their personal life at length in a way that made me feel uncomfortable and looking for the door. Leaving these sessions, I didn't feel strong. I did feel like I got some good stretching in, but not like I was making a step towards progress. I'm clearly in the minority here, but I thought it was important to share, regardless. read more

I love this studio! Aerial yoga is so unique and cool and I took the silks foundations class recently and Jess was amazing. It was definitely a workout and I was sweating a lot, and had the opportunity to try some very cool poses that were not easy! The only frustrating thing is the classes fill up quick sometimes since they offer 8 spots usually. To do the more challenging classes you need to take at least 3-4 foundations classes before doing a silks class which is good to learn the foundational skills, but a little inconvenient because the silks classes are booked out sometimes 2 weeks in advance. Overall though Jess, Heather, and I forget the other girls name who was helping (she had orange hair) were great in assisting us and felt very supported. Time flew by though! read more

I was in the First Friday Glow With the Flow class and it was SUCH a disappointment. It was NOT as advertised. I was expecting a high energy, party type, challenging atmosphere. It wasn't. There was no aerial and there was no yoga. The advertisement said that it was great for beginners and advanced yogis. That's completely false. The instructor, Paige talked through THE ENTIRE class. And it wasn't even about yoga. It was about her day. The music was good, but she talked through and over every song!! It wasn't relaxing or challenging at all. My heart rate never got elevated even a little. I felt that I knew more and could do way more than she did. One girl in class was an INSTRUCTOR, and she was taking pics of me and my 2 girl friends because she was so impressed by what we could do. At the end, we asked if she could keep the curtains closed for photos, she said yes, but still opened them and was rushing everyone out. It was the worst class I've ever taken in my life and I want a refund. It was NOT aerial or yoga. It was NOT what was advertised. This was false advertising and it was NOT worth $34.00. read more

Had just a great time playing with the sling... it was definitely a great first time considering the instructors were very friendly, accommodating, and helpful. They made me feel comfortable in what I was doing. The class was 5 other people and myself, which made it easier to learn and get accustomed. I had a blast with Elevate Yoga! It was my first time doing Aerial Yoga and it was challenging, but very fun. We were fortunate to have a small class of four and a patient and kind instructor who took the time to help us get into the correct positions. I will say that it was not what I expected. For some reason, I had it in my mind that I would be like a graceful free flowing ballerina weaving my body with beautiful silk swinging behind me. Instead, I was more like Mulan in her rope climbing scene, sweating and earning each inch with a lot more strength (and a lot less grace!) than I thought. In this way, I thoroughly surprised myself, surpassing my own limits and expectations. I'm so glad I attended and can't wait to return. read more

I've always wanted to try aerial and have followed Elevate on IG for months and finally tried it out a couple months ago. I was so nervous for my first class with Ariyanna and going alone but I'm so glad I went! After my first class I knew I'd have to become a member because I had so much fun in class and it was such a great workout! I've been a member for a little over a month and have had only positive experiences. Everyone, teachers and other members, are so friendly and supportive - even if you've never met them or talked to them before. I love the variety of classes offered and the variety of teachers who each offer something different. Since joining, I've also tried 2 aerial studios while traveling and while they were both good experiences, neither quite had the same community feel and support offered at Elevate. Came here as part of a bachelorette party- it was a little bit intimidating since I've barely done regular yoga, let alone aerial yoga.... However, it was fantastic! The space is moderately sized and fit all 10 of us nicely- I think there was still room for a few more people and the class itself was taught at a pace that was comfortable for all of us. Our instructor was very friendly and knowledgeable. She was able to make us all feel comfortable and welcome. It was really fun trying the inversions but the best part was the relaxing savasana at the end! They even had someone there to take pictures for us! Oh Elevate Yoga... where do I even start?!? I struggle with some severe depression and anxiety, and one of the things that helps me big time is doing some sort of exercise activity. I danced for years but the dance scene was a bit too competitive and intense for me, so I spent years after I stopped dancing trying to find something else. Regular yoga was not my fave, as I didn't enjoy classes as much as dance but I also didn't really feel like I belonged. I was stuck. Then, about two years ago, I found an aerial yoga studio (not Elevate obviously, but I'll get to talking about them soon) in San Diego. I had taken aerial silks classes before, but they were mostly circus oriented, so really physically difficult... AND the classes were extremely pricey. When I found an aerial YOGA not aerial SILKS studio, I was elated. The classes there were amazing, challenging, and fun! I was addicted. Unfortunately they were still pricey so I took them few and far between. Fast forward to last April, when I moved back to AZ from San Diego. I searched and searched for an aerial yoga studio but couldn't find anything. Somehow, Elevate popped up in my Google searches after a few months of looking, and I took a class. I was instantly emotional and excited knowing that I finally found a studio where I could go and give myself some therapy for my depression and anxiety in the form of exercise. Not only that, but the classes are AFFORDABLE! No more spending $30 for one hour of practice!! Since mid-last year, I have taken tons of classes and know all the instructors but one (they're AMAZING, each and every one of them!!!) I am so incredibly blessed and thankful to have found a happy place where I can go and release stress. Nothing better for your mental health than taking time to do things that make you happy, and being good to yourself! Thank you Elevate for making a difference in my life! I found this place just by using my Maps app on my phone since I wanted to find something in my neighborhood. When I saw the address, I was immediately interested. This block is a dream; beautiful, quiet, low key surrounded by businesses I love, great parking, safe, etc. And then I saw pictures - sold. I love beautiful spaces and environments and even though there's more to people & places than a pretty exterior; I'm a pretty good judge of such things. Wait for it....it only gets better..... I emailed the business with a couple of questions before signing up as a new member with a phenomenal startup plan - $45 for 2 weeks of unlimited classes. The great impressions kept rolling in. And rolling, when they 1). responded to my email in under 15 minutes and 2). were so helpful and kind and 3). one business day after joining, I got a phone call welcoming me and answering my questions. Keep waiting.... it STILL gets better!!!!!!..... I went to my first class last night. 7pm, quiet street, serene surroundings and my friend & I walk in and I smell....sage, I believe? Immediately felt relaxed, happy and very welcomed. Amber welcomed us to the studio within 90 seconds of us walking in and when she saw it was our first time was enthusiastic and very informative. Being a yoga virgin we were a little nervous but Amber took all of that away immediately. The studio as a whole is so inviting. The class - phenomenal. I booked out a few weeks as soon as I got home. When we got in the car we agreed that we cannot not have this studio in our lives on a weekly basis at the very least. This was hands down the single best experience I've ever had within the health and wellness community. I've recommended this to 3 friends already and invited them to join us. It is such a healthy environment. Not pretentious. Small and intimate. I personally would rather belong to a small studio where reserving classes is recommended, even if it means some may book up and I can't attend because there's something to be said for a business that's more like an intimate community circle versus a class w/ 30+ yogis. They are very responsive when I've had questions or issues. I love knowing that I might not be able to get into a certain pose, but I can watch my instructor go through it step-by-step and get a little more each time. This place is fly. I was a little up in the air about aerial yoga before, and very nervous that I wouldn't have the strength or confidence to do the poses. As soon as I entered the studio, I felt at ease. I was welcomed right away, asked if it was my first time, and kindly shown around to the props room and walked over to a silk. The teacher was funny and uplifting, and her instructions during the fundamentals class were super helpful. I've been practicing vinyasa yoga for almost a decade, and it's been awhile since I've had to watch an instructor to mirror their movements, something with which I tend to face some difficulty. I was surprised that I had *zero* issues following along and soon felt at ease -- even adventurous! To anyone nervous about taking their first class, I say go for it. I can't wait to go back! It was such a relaxing and centering yoga class, and although I didn't feel like I was working too hard, I was so sore the next day! I took the All Levels class with Amber and Brandi. Yoga in the silks is a challenging proposition for some, but the teachers here make you feel confident and safe at all times - even if you are a bit weary of heights and/or inversions.
