Without a Dr's approval moved our mom from assisted living (AL) respite care to memory care FOR WALKING HER DOG DURING QUARANTINE! When we were finally able to visit, we found the memory care building to be a completely different environment from AL; dirty carpeting, roaches, old furniture in common areas and the kitchen in disrepair. From Aug '20- Jan '21 she was literally in her bed 98% of the time; no activities worth mentioning unless you are a child, no stimulation, or interaction. They are completely understaffed and have had their activities coordinator cook food, and managers act as med techs. Nadja Mobley the marketing person committed to engaging with my mom in German, and showed up twice during the entire time. After repeated requests for a reassessment that went unanswered since the initial move to memory care and having to prepare my mom lunch and dinner EVERYDAY because the food is inedible (which Regional Director Jouvana Gobin admitted to!), we moved her. I tried reaching out to corporate to literally no avail, I had one conversation with Chris Terry, Director of Operations, who then ignored FOUR calls over a three week period. Even the CEO, Alex Hurst didn't have the decency to respond to a letter. This organization is unprofessional from the top to the bottom. DO NOT PLACE YOUR LOVED ONE HERE OR ANY OTHER AVENTINE PROPERTY!

Please be wary of this place. Whenever you call, they are in meetings. They are fast to take your money, but when they owe it to you back you're going to wait forever. We are already 5 months since my parents passed. Both of them died in December. Their food sucks too. My dad would not eat it. I had to bring him food. My mom's bed literally had shit on it. My uncle was the one who saw it. They leave the residents wet. Supposed to check on them every hour. Well I had to buy cameras cause it wasn't happening. My sister and I had to call the facility to get someone in the room.

We have even had several meetings and conversations with the Administration (many times with no response). We would like to know if anyone has experienced issues with any of the following: getting responses from administration ; administering of medications, such as overdosing, not being given on schedule, or/as prescribed ; making changes to Physicians Orders (meds, changing original prescribing doctors, changing number of refills as prescribed by original doctors) without notifying family and original prescribing dr's. ; the Emergency Call Wireless Pendent not working for extended periods of time and on many occasions a lack of adequate response time ; ordering of prescription drugs and over the counter meds without family approval ; lack of adequate staffing to provide the services and care they say are included in the rental charges and level of care fees ; being overcharged and or not responding to billing questions and questions regarding auto withdrawals & checks from Dad's bank ; getting resident, who they knew could not see, to sign document(s) ; experience with Licensed Nurse not being on call 24/7 (as stated in literature provided) to ensure oversight of issues at night and weekends if needed. These are just a few of the concerns we have had. In my opinion, the techs try their best but the understaffing and lack of scheduling, availability and support from the administration is pathetic.

We all got along and the residents seemed to like us. The residents are okay. Not too many behaviors, but when there are, they are INTENSE. Do not work here. So serious. They offer Baylor on the weekends, because they CANNOT keep staff. It's disgusting. The whole bottom level stinks like cigarettes because the smoking area is right outside the back door.

A family member went to visit and saw the airbed unplugged. The facility is terrible. The administrator has a dog and some other kind of furry animal in her office. I heard a patient yelling "shut that damn dog up" when the dog was barking. The staff mostly stands around the front desk talking or deciding where to send out for lunch. I spent several days in the horrible place and saw first hand the neglectful way the patients were treated. The CITY and STATE need to inspect this place as well as OSHA. Several times I saw dirty needles, gloves, gause and assorted medical supplies on the floors. Many sanitary rules are broken on a daily basis I don't know how they get away abusing the sick and elderly.
