Just as many others on this feed have mentioned, I am YET ANOTHER person having a supposed claim left over from August 6th, 2021 (5 YEARS AGO!)--which was the date I took my, then minor son, for "FREE COVID" testing through a drive through, and am just now getting a mailing stating Anthem Blue Cross is "investigating" this claim; like @Amelia B, this insurance coverage was from my last job which I left in 2022! Considering the number of similar reports here on YELP, I think it best if the practitioners who represent Elevated Health look into this. I AM A PHYSiCIAN ASSOCIATE MYSELF, so please understand and let it be documented here that I will pay for no fraudulent bill, no less from 5 years ago from an insurance company I have not had coverage with in nearly as long. Short Version: I highly recommend Elevated Health. It is a quick, efficient, and convenient way to take care of your health needs. I felt understood by my provider, Charlotte, and she offered all the different treatment options available to me. Full Version: I have a preexisting condition that requires me to be on meds long term. I have been struggling with getting help from specialists at Kaiser (or even my PCP for that matter :/ ), as they are never available, or their availability is once every 3/4 months. I wanted something convenient and efficient to help with my needs, so I tried going to elevated health. I found a same day appointment with a provider in my area. The booking process was quick and easy, and I was connected with Charlotte. Since I was unable to reach my PCP for a few months, I had a lot of questions for her! She was patient and we talked through the common symptoms of my issue, my medical history, my major concerns, etc. I felt understood by my provider and she offered all the different treatment options available to me. I have had PCOS for almost a decade now, none of the doctors I have consulted with before have actually been able to explain the condition and walk through the several options that I have like this one. I'm sick of big hospitals like Kaiser that put profits over people, I would much rather support a smaller local business that makes me feel like a valued customer. I just received an email from you stating I owe 39.42 for two different COVID tests that are "no costs to patients" with insurance, which I had. These alleged tests were conducted 11/2/2021 and 11/14/2021 per your invoice. I spoke with Blue Shield and was advised these tests would be 100% covered but were not submitted until 2023, a year past their policy. Their policy is 1 year after date of service, which would have been 2022. I was also advised they see one charge and not two. This invoice is from almost 4 years ago. I have been a client of Dr. Paul McKinley and Elevated Health since 2020 and I am extremely happy with everything about Elevated Health's clinic, services and staff. The Western medical system is broken and it is very unfortunate. I have been battling two health conditions since 2008 so I have been studying holistic remedies in addition to medical protocols for over 15 years. My first consultation with Dr. Paul was refreshing. He spent over an hour with me asking me detailed questions about my medical background, lifestyle, symptoms, goals, and more. He never looked at his phone and no staff interrupted us. I am a detail guy so I have a LOT of questions. He answered them patiently, provided me with 3rd-party resources to research on my own and he gave me options while providing me with his recommendations. My endocrine system is compromised so I require daily medication for my thyroid and hormone treatments. I have Colitis and I also battle chronic sinus symptoms. I have had a dry cough for decades and typically had annual or quarterly sinus infections growing up. On average, I have needed at least one round of antibiotics annually. Dr. Paul is the only person that helped me get rid of my dry cough and I have not needed an antibiotic in 4 years. He taught me how to proactively avoid sinus infections. Much of what the average person deals with is due to our poor diet and lifestyle habits. Most doctors don't have enough time to really get to know their clients and help them treat to the root cause. I can text, call or email Elevated Health anytime I want and within 24 hours, someone will respond. Oftentimes, it is Dr. Paul himself who calls, texts or emails me back. I can swing by with or without an appointment anytime during business hours and they can almost always squeeze me in. Elevated Health's entire staff has been knowledgeable, professional, kind, helpful, and resourceful. EH uses great SMS software making it easy to communicate, ask questions and make appointments. They have a clean, modern clinic, filled with supportive amenities and a warm environment that is inviting and relaxing. In addition to Dr. Paul, I am really impressed with their team of qualified and professional employees. I have really enjoyed working with Yvette, Daniel and Heather over the years in addition to many others. I love that Dr. Paul is always educating himself on the latest products, services and technologies to help us maintain our optimal health. Received a bill for $117 for "No Cost" Covid test. They waited for one year before sending a bill hoping that we forgot about the event. I have records of the visit, so I know it's supposed to be no cost. The $117 is in addition to the $925 they charged to the insurance company charging 45 minutes for a 5 minute doctor visit. This place is a scam and you should search for "matthew abinante scam". When we called them to follow up on the bill, they told us to settle it with our insurance agent. read more

A few things to keep in mind: - I did not visit any of their offices, yet my insurance has NUMEROUS charges from them, some of which are from when I visited a van in a parking lot to get a covid test, some of which are NOT. - While these tests were advertised as "free", they were anything but, because Elevated Health is now attempting to bill me a full TWO YEARS later for services provided for "free" - Not sure where to classify a man who attempts to capitalize on a global pandemic, while falsely advertising services as "free", but I'd avoid at all costs. - Add to this that many of the charges my insurance DID reject, because he billed them for dates that I was in between jobs and didn't even have insurance. - The bills from this provider have never been clear, because there are no bills. They just harass you over text to pay them in an online portal. SCAM FRAUD SCAM FRAUD Received a notice from my insurance company today for a claim enquiry dating back to 2021 for a Elevated Health billing code for separate "Office Visit or Telehealth" services for me and my son, who was 1 years old at the time, for which we never received. We have always been insured and never seek medical services outside of our network. We also live in an entirely different part of the state, nowhere near Huntington Beach. Contact numbers for Elevated Health never respond. The amount of the fraudulently billed claim is $602.30, identical to others reflected here on Yelp. Our insurance company was excellent at investigating and provided us with a contact number to report fraudulent claims. read more

SCAM SCAM SCAM SCAM I received a letter from this office today attempting to steal $130.25 from me for a service billed as a doctor visit (code 99211) for a telehealth appointment which they are stating occurred on March 14th, 2024. I have never once contacted this company or received a medical telehealth or in-person appointment with this clinic in any capacity whatsoever. They aren't associated with my healthcare in any way, nor have I ever received any type of service from them. I live on the other side of the country. I've tried to call their number multiple times, and conveniently, no one answers at any selection. Elevated Health is owned by a scammer. I'm glad Jay J. left a review, because I'm in a similar boat. I received an explanation of benefits from Blue Shield of CA today from Elevated Health. Elevated Health apparently filed a claim in October 2023 for a $130.25 "office visit" for August 25th, 2021, which is funny, since I: * Didn't see the doctor on that date, * Didn't even have Blue Shield insurance on that date, * Have never heard of Elevated Health. After a LOT of deep digging and reading Yelp and Google reviews, I figured out that the owner of Elevate Health is Matthew Abanate, who helped run https://covidclinic.org, which was used by the County/a lot of local cities during the height of the pandemic. While I never got a Covid test in person, I did use the county's website to order free at-home covid tests earlier in the year, which (to my understanding) Abanate helped distribute via his company Rume. I can only assume that's where Abanate got my insurance information from. I have no proof of this, but I suspect he's now using Elevated Health to charge me and people like me, because he - by his own admission in his responses to Google reviews - screwed up on properly billing people with insurance at the time. This whole thing is disgustingly scammy, especially considering COVID tests were supposed to be free. I'm fairly certain his approach is a violation of Senate Bill 510, and I've filed a complaint with the AG's office and the Department of Insurance. read more

SCAM, SCAM, SCAM! They filed a claim with my medical insurance, yet filed it as if I had filed it myself. It's supposedly for a COVID test from two years ago. They neglected to file the claim on time, so they recently filed it as if I filed it myself, and my medical insurance denied it because it was two years old. Luckily, my medical insurance said they figured it was a scam. If you read up on Dr. Matthew Abinante, you'll see that he claims he had COVID centers nationwide, yet the one here in San Diego was shutdown because they didn't have the proper licenses/certificates. Then if you read their responses to reviews, they'll either claim it's from one of their COVID sites or claim they never had anything to do with COIVD sites. read more

She is available to her patients, she listens, and she remembers what you have told her (and that is extremely hard to find in a doctor.) She is also very pro-active in her approach to providing care. She has been willing to assist me with filling out forms for disability, etc, which has been life-changing for me. The care my husband and I receive from this office is so far above 5-star! I cannot recommend Elevated Health enough. We used Elevated Health for our primary care from 2017-2020. Our circumstances changed in 2020 and we had to change doctors. Bummer for us! Just today (Jan. 2024) I needed some info from when I was a patient. I have heard for years about this local practice that operates a little bit outside of the usual primary Dr doctor office format by being subscription based. After having an amazing primary care doctor who was transferred to and executive care setting I struggled for years trying to find a primary care doctor who was both available when needed and good at what they do. I will say after my first appointment and introduction to MSN Charlotte Nicolas I am pleased to make the move over to there practice. She spent time giving me some basic prospective on her and the offices outlook on medicine and treatment philosophy. She answered all my questions and was knowledgeable and is super friendly. I just stated seeing Dr. Lucy Pun. She is a kind and caring physician who listens to her patients. My first appointment she spent the entire hour getting to know me and my concerns. Everyone in the office is kind and professional. I have never had to wait past my appointment time. I get prompt responses by text and follow up calls from the Doctor about test results. If you have a high deductible plan, it is just so much easier to pay their discounted rates and then submit to insurance to erode the aggregate. Yes it is out of network with a higher deductible but their response time and professionalism is worth it for my health. read more
