Aw man!! I've sadly learned that Dr. Boone will no longer be with Edinger Medical Group as of May 1st 2018. I'm not sure yet where he will end up practicing but I HOPE he is still going to be in the area!! Not only is Dr. Boone caring, compassionate, and smart, he has a GREAT bedside manner, which I really appreciate! It's funny because you can tell he is this really smart guy but when he found out I am obsessed with the Bachelor he was right there able to have that convo with me too. Dr. Boone and Edinger Medical Group are the best in healthcare that I have seen a in a very long time! I am picky because I am a nurse but this doctor has exceeded my expectations so far! He actually takes the time to listen to your medical history, your symptoms, and then discusses a plan to seek answers fo you. It us very hard to find a doctor that takes his/her time these days and I have finally found one! Everyone in the office from front office staff to the medical assistants are super nice and friendly. I have been a patient of Dr. Matthew Boone for over 20 years. He is an excellent clinician, extremely intelligent, a very caring person and is a good listener. He has helped me through a myriad of medical conditions. He is a graduate of one of the top medical schools in the nation and seems very knowledgeable regarding the latest updates in medicine. His assistant is very sweet and personable. She has worked with Dr. Boone for many years and is knowledgeable regarding medical procedures, etc. I know I am in good hands with this team! A few years ago, I had to be hospitalized. I was shocked when Dr. Boone and his partners arrived at the hospital to take care of me! In this day and age, this never happens. Typically you are cared for by a doctor you've never heard of before, and will never see again. This is never the case at Edinger. Regardless of the reason for being in the hospital, Dr. Boone or one of his partners will manage my care in the hospital. This provides a type of continuity of care that just doesn't exist elsewhere anymore. EMG has its own case managers and patient care coordinators which most medical groups don't have. In those situations where unexpected complicated medical conditions arise, I know I can trust on the physicians and its staff. Downside: Edinger has been around for over 50 years, has won many awards, and is very, very popular. In fact, I am writing this review with some regret as a part of me does not want to encourage others to seek their care with the group and make them even more popular. I kind of want to keep them as the hidden gem they are. As a result of this popularity, appointment times for routine / non-urgent health issues can be fairly long. They do have their own urgent care and same day appointments, so truly important matters are handled on the same day. They are even open for a few hours on Saturday and Sunday mornings for urgent issues. What doctor office does that anymore?? If you are the type of person that doesn't care about the quality of doctor you see, there are plenty of medical groups with empty waiting rooms and that might be a better fit for you. Also, the entire Orange Coast Memorial Hospital campus has become extremely popular over the past 10 years, and parking can be challenging. Fortunately they do offer valet parking for free, and I understand the hospital will be building a second parking structure within the next year or so. The truth, however, is that the doctors are worth the wait and any parking inconvenience. In other words, if the quality of the physician is not a priority, and you judge your care by the ease of parking and quickness to obtain an appointment, then this is not the right doctor or group for you. I would rather wait a little longer for an appointment and have to valet park my car or walk a little farther from the structure or parking lot, but know it is with someone I would trust my life with. There's a reason for everything in life, and there is a reason why we are all willing to wait longer for an appointment with the Edinger doctors - because they are worth it. read more

If you're looking for the Medical Groups, Edinger Medical Group is by far the best medical groups around! I live in the High Desert and drove over 2 hours to see Dr. Boone today. Dr. Boone is pretty awesome! He always listens to you. He's very proactive when it comes to medical treatment and even calls me to follow up on my current condition with a plan for the future. My husband and I have been seeing Dr. Boone for over 20 years. I highly recommended him to all of my family and friends as well P.S.: He's pretty funny too! One of the greatest Doctors in the history of medicine. Only problem is that it's easier to get a private audience with the Pope than get an appointment see the Great Dr Boone. Been with him for over 40 years. His referrals are at the top of their specialty and well worth the visit. EMG culls out any referral doctor who does not perform to their high class of medical care and expectations. Dr Boone is a true professional and expects his patients to be taken care in the same professional manner. He does not accept excuses and will fight for what is right. Dr Boone is the best Primary Physician I know, both professionally (I am a critical care nurse who has worked at Hoag Hospital the last 8 years) and personally (he is my primary physician)! I can not give him enough praise for all he does for his patients! He always goes above and beyond and his passion for providing the best care for his patients is clearly evident! He is incredibly intelligent, attentive, compassionate, current on evidence based practices, and honest. Dr Boone has an impeccable bedside manner that you will not find elsewhere. He thoroughly investigates all your symptoms and ensures he finds the source of your ailments. His plan of care for each patient is individualized and multi-faceted to ensure his patients alway receive the best quality of care and in a timely fashion.
