Dr Bart and team are great. I messed up my lower back while on holiday with family in NYC. This is a chronic issue and typically takes a week for my body to recover. After suffering through PT for 4 months with terrible back pain and so diagnosis in sight, I booked a Groupon with Empire Sports and Spine TriBeCa for a Chiropractic. At first the studio is a bit jaring, being so open, however, I quickly was put at ease when Dr. Flores welcomed me with a big smile. The entire staff is very welcoming. The scheduling and billing are a breeze (and they take my insurance -- cigna) Dr. Flores is very open receptive, thoughtful in her approach and technique. She'll 'light up your life' and put a smile on your face! After my first appointment, all of my upper back/neck pain disappeared. After a few more sessions (1 x per week) we were focusing on my lower back pain. After my adjustments, she asked the massage therapist to focus on a muscle I've never heard of before. After a quick massage session, and resting after -- my lower back pain melted away. 4 months of PT only had temporary relief & after 5 sessions with Dr. Flores, I'm back to normal! Dr. Shockey is the most authentic doctor I have ever met! I first met Dr. Shockey five years ago at a health fair at my office and had some neck, back and sciatica issues related to pregnancy. I thought that all the aches and pains would go away after giving birth but they didn't. I just felt pain all over and suspected that I had fibromyalgia. After seeing numerous specialists: neurologists, internists and orthopedists, no one could figure out the problem so I chose the holistic route...the wellness approach. With Dr. Shockey, he addressed the whole body. He sees your body as a frame that has to be sturdy. He explained his plan, goal and target so that I could feel better. His staff came to my office to adjust my chair, computer and mouse so that my body can be at the most optimum position at my desk (if that's possible-hahaha). At my visits, his conversation is like being with a friend that offers sage advice. Five years later, I'm a working mother trying to balance it all. I compete in powerlifting and find myself at a chiropractor several times a year. I've probably seen around 15 chiros in my life along with having a few best friends going to school for chiropractic. Honestly, most chiropractors are terrible. I've never had a serious injury but I've been in some debilitating pain from heavy lifting and many of the docs would make me feel marginally better after the visit if at all. They also pressure you into coming twice a week every week for months. If you don't have a serious injury and they need that much time with you, they're probably not that great. Dr Bart really took care of me, has very good adjustment techniques that made me feel like a million bucks, gave me stretches to do to improve my imbalances, and handed me over to an amazing massage therapy who almost made me cry (in a good way). I went to Dr.Shocky after an MRI that showed 3 vertebrae crushing against the nerves in my neck blocking spinal fluids and causing numbness along with pins and needles resulting in muscle atrophy to my right shoulder, upper right arm and right pectoral muscle. I'm a healthy active older guy who keeps in top shape with years of biking, yoga, gym plus a good nutritional diet so when this situation began 6 mounts ago I was pretty shocked and I had to pretty much stop all my activities do to fear of nerve damage and possible paralysis. The Surgeon I had been seeing at Cornell Medical Center determined that an operation was inevitable! I was not happy with this prognosis believing it would be an unpleasant life changing event leaving me with negative effects on the quality of my life. Depression was setting in with a sense of spiritual atrophy equal to my physical loss. I had never been to a chiropractor before and quite frankly didn't believe in them! To my most grateful surprise I was wrong. When I first spoke with Dr.Shocky about my symptoms he immediately wanted me to come see him. I had the gift of desperation fearing an operation so I was willing to go to any lengths to prevent an invasive procedure of this magnitude and made an appointment immediately. After Xrays and consultation Dr.Shocky began working on me and from the first session hope was reawakened.....I felt I was in very strong capable hands! Now into my fourth week of 2 visits per week most of the symptoms have subsided and I've begun to rebuild the loss of muscle but more profoundly I've regained my spirit. I'm now back at the gym and picking up my normal activities slow and steady! The doctor is great! If I lived in NYC, I would be a regular patient. I bought a deal online before a trip, and some how hurt myself the day before I left. The 5+ hour flight, bad weather, diverted flight.....my little injury stiffened up. I woke up the next day in a lot of pain. I LOVE Dr Bart. As a former dancer and super clutz, I have not treated my back well. Unfortunately, I took a major fall several years ago... and let's just say it was BAD NEWS on my back. When I first came to him, I was having problem walking, moving, even getting out of bed. BUT! Went in with a groupon. Dr Bargiel seemed very knowledgeable (I've never gone to a chiro before). He always explained what he was doing and why, and answered any questions I had. He seemed a bit rushed, but it seemed like a busy day, and he answered all my questions, so it wasnt a big deal. He told me what was wrong with my back and after an adjustment gave me stretches/exercises to do at home. My back definitely felt better when I came out than when I went it. This is also due to one of the amazing massage therapists they had there, April. Her massage felt wonderful, relaxing, and very professional. And I got a free conversation out of it too. She also tells great stories; if you get her, ask about the one where she helps saves a small child from drowning in a yellow river. Minus one star because April would only tell me one story per massage. But also because the exam/adjustment felt a bit rushed. May go there again when my insurance kicks in. read more

On short notice his professional, friendly and efficient staff accepted my appointment and within 3 sessions, in one week, I experienced a 70% improvement in my abrupt and painful neck condition. I was seeing Dr. Bart for years when he was part of a practice downtown but was even more excited to hear he was moving to midtown to start his own practice! His new office is newly renovated, easy to get to, comfortable and welcoming. Omg I've been dealing with a terrible back knot for a month now..went and saw a chiropractor a week ago who helped but didn't resolve the issue completely..after purchasing the Groupon I was able to get an appointment the same day. First they did an exam and adjusted my back to see what was going on and then I got a 30 minute deep tissue massage. Holy fuck manny did my massage and my back feels brand fucking new. Working out the knots def hurt so much I wanted to cry but my back feels 100000000x better!!!! After the massage they also gave me a personalized health plan on how to work on my problems. Well, that's what happened to me when I went to see Dr. Bargiel. All of us have certain expectations that we project and judge others by; rightly or wrongly that's what we do. And like every other New Yorker I am busy and in a hurry. The one word that I would choose to describe Dr. Bargiel's practice is "Professionalism", in all aspects. It's been over two months that I have been visiting him, successfully, for lower back pain. Every visit has been a pleasant and personable experience. His office is organized, they're expecting me and I don't get the "deer in the headlights look" that we are all familiar with. I have never waited more than five minutes for Dr. Bargiel to retrieve me from the waiting area. During treatment, Dr. Bargiel is relaxed yet focused on the task at hand. He explains everything that he is going to do prior to it being done and takes the time to further explain things if I do not understand. My sessions usually last forty minutes or so and if he wants to perform an additional treatment he always asks if I have time to ensure my schedule is not interrupted.
