It's now costing us significant time and money to properly remediate. I also tried reaching out to discuss this and request a reinspection, but never received a response, which was even more frustrating. Based on this experience, I wouldn't hire again.

My wife and I were first home buyers and were excited about buying our first home and moving in with our little 4-month baby. We made an offer on a house, it was accepted, and we started the process. We went through an inspection with NPI, and as a young dad concerned about buying a first home, I followed around behind Stephen and another inspector (sorry, I can't remember your name!) as they explained every little thing they were testing for. They were thorough and open and encouraging during the whole process. Unfortunately, the next day we received news that our application couldn't pass underwriting due to my self-employed status. We were heartbroken. We reset expectations, and realized that unfortunately, due to the timing, we were going to have to pay for the inspection anyways. The next day I got the invoice from NPI: $0. I don't know how the news passed through to them (I assume through our agent), but I hardly expected them to respond this way. NPI's generosity helped reduce some of the sting of not being able to move into a new house, and while I hate to set a precedent for NPI in giving refunds, I want to let you as a home buyer know that if you pick anyone, pick these guys, because they'll take care of you.

They were able to get me a time within a few days. Michael Morgan was my inspector. He more than met my expectations. I got an amazingly specific report along with photos of each item. I was able to talk to him for a little bit during the inspection, but I ended up having to leave. I called the next day to get some additional information and he was happy to help. He was able to help me identify what things were a priority, and what things were just surface items. The information was concise and very helpful. They had a special going and I felt I got a really good price for all the work that they did. A solid three hours. It's also nice to have a link with a lot of photographs of my new home. It'll be a great reference in the future. He gave a lot of great pointers as well. I highly recommend this company.

The pickiness and the overwhelming opinions that went beyond safety and code for the age of home overtook the report which made the decision making on the property difficult for the any buyer to decifier.
