If you are someone who likes getting 'back to basics' or more in touch with the natural parts of your life, then you will like visiting Hobbit Gardens. Okay, just so you know, you won't find anything related to the book series about the Hobbit/Lord of the Rings here. The owner is a fan of the books from here grade school days and liked the connection of the characters to the world around them. The owner opened the shop and herb garden when she moved to the Indy area. All the herbs she sells in her store are grown on the grounds. Not only can you buy herbs, but you can learn about growing them, learn about drying them, about making decorative wreaths, about their medicinal and health values. She offers classes (see her website) to students as well as adults. When you visit, there is limited parking on the gravel drive. The owner owns both the shop and the house, so you can park wherever you see gravel. Because it was late into fall during our visit, most of the herbs outside were already harvested, but she still had fresh herbs potted inside the shop so you could see about getting some of those. To be honest, I didn't make any purchases because I frankly don't use herbs for anything other than for cooking. My wife asked a lot of questions and because she did, I learned a lot more than I would have. So, I can't give you any pricing on the products. Sorry. But Constance is a pleasure to speak with and she has been immersed in learning about all the uses of herbs for decades. While there we chatted with her as we walked through the gardens and into the shop. There are special events on the property whenever a solstice or a new year starts. There is even a Sweat Lodge on site towards the back of the property that can be reserved for special occasions. I have to admit I am not sure if I would ever be interested in reserving it, but I found it interesting. The space seems inviting and just walking about and smelling the fragrances left us feeling relaxed and calm...more in touch with nature. Only complaint is that they don't have any sort of answering service. If you call, and no one answers, the phone just disconnects. This is annoying if you need information or need to leave a message.

There are three locations for this business, Camby, Mooresville and Martinsville. My sister…read morevisited the Mooresville location first and picked up a brochure and we thought about our needs and where we would put a large barn. A couple of weeks later she and I returned to the Mooresville location which is located on State Road 67 on the southbound side of the road between the light at TOA and the light at Old 67. We met with an employee who gave us a lot of facts and figures and more to think about. He also had a list of current inventory at all three locations. The size and style we were considering, the wood A frame (no loft) with the nine foot garage door, was in stock at the Martinsville location. The Martinsville location is located on the 39 bypass just past the light leading to downtown if coming from Hwy 67. My sister, her husband and I decided to go look at that specific unit at the Martinsville location. I like the way they leave all their buildings unlocked so you can shop without an employee being on site. That unit turned out to be four feet longer than what we originally wanted. Each unit has the price posted inside with a few rent to own payment options listed as well. We decided the extra four feet would probably come in handy later on and decided to go with a unit that was in stock rather than wait for one to be built. The wait time for a unit to be built was only a couple of weeks. We decided that location of the side door, window, number of windows and choice of colors was not that important so we opted for the one they had in stock. We did add a ramp to our purchase. What really impressed us was the delivery by Stutz Trucking. They had to place the unit in a tight corner inside another gated area within our five acre business. Further, he took extra time to level the unit because we didn't provide much of a level surface. The ground was level but we had two different sizes of large gravel covering the ground. We are very happy with our purchase and the delivery and setup of our new landscape maintenance barn.

They're located in Noblesville, but they deliver to most of Hamilton County. The hardwood mulch was delivered exactly where it was requested to be placed (on a tarp on the driveway, to the right), carefully and nicely, in a tidy little mulchy pile. It was delivered right when it was supposed to be delivered, by a nice guy who made sure everything was satisfactory. The mulch is undyed, but you can't tell at all -- it's a rich, dark brown color. Check their website for discounts (I scored $40 off). You can't place an order on their website, though. You need to call them to set everything up. Now, I have a mountain of brown stuff in my driveway, and the clock is ticking to spread it! Looks like today is arms day!
