Buyer beware! Bait and switch. Placed an order online based on their website choices and prices, called to confirm the order and was told by June that the website was updated and "where did I get those prices". When I told her, she was disbelief and I was happy to send her a screenshot. She was not willing to adjust the price for the published prices on the so called "old webpage". Poor customer service. And when I attempted to ask her more about, she claimed she was the only one in the store and had other customers! This stuff better be worth the extra $4 a bottle - yes - then the products came and they were even more than what she quoted me on the phone!! read more

This week my family and I visited Steamboat Springs. Late-night after closing we passed this shop and made a mental note to return the next day. We are suckers for quiant specialty shops with curated items and artisan products. When we entered the shop we browsed for some time before we saw an employee come from the back area. My wife said hello to the employee as we continued to shop. Even when we physically passed the employee she said nothing to us the entire time. Instead of purchasing the items we bookmarked when window shopping the night before, we left with nothing. When we returned to our Airbnb we spent nearly $140 on a small cheeseboard and an olive oil despenser on Amazon very similar to what we returned to the store during business hours to purchase. The lack of customer service lost our business yesterday and there is no reason we will return on our next visit to Steamboat Springs. I learned after-the-fact that our teenage son said hello to her twice only to be met with closed lips. Had a known this at time time I would have asked for the owner's informatiom. I'd hate to think that it was the owner we encountered, though. How specialty shops survive when customers don't feel welcomed and valued I couldn't say. I don't know if all customers receive the same cold treatment or if it is reserved for customers that look like us but either way, I am happy to inform other customers of our experience. UPDATE: Upon visiting the website I was able to identify that the poor service and silent treatment was directly from one of the owners. Terribly disappointing. read more

I have bought many items at this store that can transform any regular salad into a masterpiece, but they also have gorgeous kitchenware too. I love the balsamic and olive oil selection here and if I didn't love it so much I would NEVER give this place my business. Terrible customer service. I hope the woman working was just having a bad day but by the look of other reviews that's not the case. We enjoy steamboat an try to support the local businesses when we visit. It had been awhile since I had shopped here so I asked a few questions. Every question I asked seemed to be a huge inconvenience for the woman to answer. I asked for a large bottle of a specific oil and she looked at me and said "You know the small is $28 right?" As if I couldn't afford the large.... like I said, if it wasn't for the great selection of oils this place would never receive my business. read more

This is an EXPERIENCE and watch out - you will leave with a gallon of olive oil and balsamic vinegars. My favorite was Butter - it tastes like a butter - and being a vegan - that is a flavor I don't get to taste anymore - until NOW. And it's even better than butter. We live in Steamboat, and we use a lot of olive oil. I always try to buy local whenever possible, but every time I walk into Elevated Olive I am shocked by the rudeness. I wish that I could say that it's just a lack of service, but it's worse than that. So, I would be back in and will continue to buy elsewhere. We "adopted" a tree in Italy and get shipments of quality olive oil, and don't miss the attitude that comes with Elevated Olive. If they would just be a little friendly then we would gladly buy all our olive oil there, but after about a dozen tries over the years, I have no optimism that they will suddenly learn to be friendly. read more

We have shopped at this store for about 5 years. A few days ago, my wife and i were in the store when my wife had an unexpected attack and desperately needed a bathroom. My wife expressed her situation to person there and was refused access to bathroom and told to use gas station across the street. With no time to beg, she tried to make it there but was unable to do so. It was a horrific experience and embarrassment. The staff was rude, arrogant and uncaring. I came in here and I was mesmerized by the amount of different olive oils! I came in the next day and brought the family. We all went crazy over the olive oils and balsamic dressings and got a bunch of olive oil. My favorite was the green chili olive oil, the black truffle olive oil, and the truffle salt! I was skeptical about the salt, but the flavor-infused salts are a lot more potent and flavorful. I definitely recommend coming into this shop. It's also great that you can try all the olive oils before buying. read more

I have been coming to Steamboat and Elevated Olive for years. Their olive oils and vinegars are top notch. We have a shop in my town where I could buy a lot of the flavors, but Steamboat is like a second home to me and I've always tried to support the local businesses here as much as possible. In the past, this store preferred that you keep your bottles to be refilled so I've been holding onto mine since I didn't get to come replenish in March due to Covid. Today I walked in with my clean empty bottle in my bag. When the lady finally helped me I asked her if they were still doing bottle refills. (I wasn't sure due to Covid so I brought it just in case). She barked back at me that they weren't and I couldn't even bring my bottle in the store!!! What? If I want to carry an empty bottle in my bag, what does she care? Her exact words were, "You CANNOT even have that in here!" My immediate response was to throw it in the trash can next to me and she yelled at me again that I couldn't put it in there. I dug it out of the trash and gave it to my son and asked him to go outside and throw it away. Then she starts telling me I shouldn't do that bc I should recycle it. What? You just told me I couldn't have it in there. So I throw it away and I can't do that and now I'm getting lectured about getting the bottle out of the store. I finally just left the store in tears bc I wasn't expecting to be treated so rudely. I really want to go back and buy some of my favorites like the Tuscan Herb olive oil, green Chile olive oil, and coconut balsamic vinegar, but I don't know if I can cool off enough to not be mean when I go in. Alright, so my lady friends and I were having a girl's weekend. Typical, come to a small mountain town, check out the sites, do some rafting; the usual. We popped into this little store to check out their products, and not only were we given an obvious annoyed glance over from two old bags that worked there when we walked in. They also decided to follow us around and begrudgingly 'held' our products that we wanted to purchase. Cool, so they either thought we were going to shoplift or we wanted to come in and just really mess up their olive oil store. Either way, there's absolutely no reason to treat customers this way. Especially paying customers. Olive oil=damn tasty. Mean old ladies working there=unpleasant experience. Here's some tips for you turds if you ever read this. Put a smile on your face, greet your customers, and maybe don't treat them like a bunch of sticky fingered delinquents. read more
