My dog Ginger goes to Eli's for play. She loves playing with the other dogs socializing. Ginger is always met with a smile and is taken right away. The staff are awesome and take care to separate the overactive dogs from the older less active ones. I feel secure leaving her there because I know she is safe and well cared for until I pick her up. read more

My dad took his small dog here to be groomed. The dog was there ALL day long due to poor scheduling and overbooking and was exposed to many other dogs that day as they were not separated. My dad's dog ended up getting kennel cough from this place and got very very sick and is still recovering a month later...praying he recovers. ****If you truly love your animal, RUN**** DO NOT BOARD HERE. LONG overdue review and one that needs to be done. After their rude employees Jordan Manning and her husband felt the need to post on FB about a situation, they both have no clue about and wanted to be totally rude assholes, I felt it was only fair to let everyone know their work ethics, the people they hire, how they treat animals and the true negligence of the business. If I could've given zero stars, I would've. They kept 4 of our dogs 2.5 years ago, while being asked about the boarding house, we posted our HORRIBLE and horrendous experience hoping it can save someone else's pet from experiencing the same outcome. Jordan, their wonder caring employee (total sarcasm) still sticking to the lame ass story we were originally told. Our 4 dogs had been boarded all together for years at Eli's Friends and this time a "freak accident" happened? Ha! The vet even said there was more to what happened than what was told to us... our dog's neck was broken, blood was everywhere! Yet when I picked up my 3 other dogs, who had definitely not been bathed, nor was any of their blankets or toys cleaned, there was NO blood on them or any of our belongings. Then got a card in the mail with a check for ALL the money back 3 WEEKS after the event and this coming after they asked us pay for them keeping our dog they allowed to get attacked. If that wasn't an admission of guilt, I don't know what else is. Freak accident my ass. Oh, and tell me how YOU can say for 100% fact that it happened the way you claim, without cameras to prove it?! Which was requested, and we were told there weren't any back there. How convenient. Who would board others' animals, with volunteer workers, NO cameras to supervise the work being done and how the animals are being treated?? The key word here is NEGLIGENCE, and until you can PROVE otherwise, "perhaps" you might want to invest in some? We had 3 small dogs and an old man boxer boarded together there. They loved, played, and snuggled with each other every day, and the ones still with us still do. The 3 littles couldn't have done the damage that occurred, and our boxer is, as I said old, slow, lazy and protective of the others (Eli's even told us this). The story they gave us is not true, we could tell from the get go. Nothing felt right about it. Then the employees at the vet even said it was worse off than Eli's Friends made it out to be. Any animal lover would be jaded by something like this happing to them. And their employee didn't need to speak or even open her mouth about it, that was classless. Anyone wants to read her replies, I'm more than willing to share. We still miss our baby very much and having their heartless employees (Jordan Manning) even speaking about it was wrong on multiple different levels, and after becoming harassing, had to ultimately block her and her tough guy arrogant husband. They know what truly happened, but they "claim" they came back to the kennel our dogs were in together and found him dead. Without cameras back where the kennels are (at least that's what they told us), we'll never get the real truth. But we DO know our own dogs... who have lived, maneuvered around each other, played & slept together for years. Plus were boarded all together every time, and love and protect each other fiercely. Needless to say, we still miss him and that employee's comment (Jordan Manning) was heartless, karma is a bitch." The owner seems nice. I was going to use this business for doggy day care & potentially grooming as well. My issue lies with me being denied the request to walk in the back & physically see the facility due to "covid" reasons. Why would anyone be ok with paying for doggy daycare & not be able to seeee the condition of the facility . I wanted to ensure it's a clean & safe environment for my dogs for day care. The owner has no idea when she will feel comfortable letting potential customers walk in the building for a tour. Also there are no cameras for you to check in on your pup throughout your day. Most of the reviews for this business are over 2 years old which seems to be common for businesses in the Goldsboro area. read more

I have been taking my dog to Eli's friends for some years now. they are wonderful. my dog is so happy to go! now we have another dog. he went for his first time nail trim and loved it there. they are very helpful and loving to the people and animals. thank you so much for having a great place where I don't have to worry about leaving my pets. read more

I'm not one to make bad reviews, but this is my first. I take the care of my pet very seriously and leaving them for a day is already hard enough on a dog. We went to pick up our dog at the pick up time of 1-2pm only to be told to come back at 4pm. After we picked up the dog at 4 and got him home we noticed his urine was dark brown almost red. We called a family friend who is a vet and he suggested he sounds severely dehydrated. We noticed when we came in the house after the grooming he was drinking water extremely fast. Now we suspected he hadn't had any water for the 7 hours he was at the groomer. After talking to friends we hear more stories about their dog also seeming to be extremely dehydrated after returning home. I'm not sure if they are getting enough, if any at all, water during their stay. I won't be taking that chance again. read more

Eli's took our 2 small dogs in on very short notice since I was going into labor. We were so thankful at the time but this quickly changed and became an absolute nightmare. We picked them up 5 days later on the way home with our newborn from the hospital. That same evening one of our dogs started throwing up (eventually throwing up blood) and the other had severe diarrhea. Our vomiting puppy was also showing signs of anxiety that we never witnessed before that finally resolved after 2 weeks. My husband spent the whole first night having our newborn home cleaning the floors and washing or couch covers due to the messes from the dogs. There were reminents of bugs all in the stool of the dog with diarrhea. Our vet diagnosed both dogs with multiple bacterial infections. My husband called Eli's and asked for a report on the dogs and to let them know what was going on. They didn't have any information or recollection on details for either dog and noted that their facility was clean so they didn't know how the bugs were in the stool (which they clearly would have had to let her eat outside). Four weeks, several hundred dollars in vet bills, and hours of cleaning later, one of our dogs is still suffering from severe diarrhea and will be returning to the vet yet again. She has had to be locked in her pin and diapered constantly since returning from Eli's, which is heartbreaking for our family since she is such a social and sweet puppy. My husband called multiple times and all the owner could say was sorry. My husband finally asked for a refund after 3 weeks of having issues, but it doesn't even begin to cover the vet bills or stress we've endured. My husband, who was lucky enough to received time off from the military to spend with our new baby, has spent most of his time cleaning and dealing with our sick puppies instead of enjoying the baby. This has been absolutely horrible for our family. Do not take your pets to Eli's! read more

Eli's Friends is the best place to board or train your pet. I take my dogs there regularly and my dogs are always thrilled to go for boarding or play days or training. When we walk through the door we are always greeted warmly and my dogs practically run to Eli's staff members.
