We went…read moreon the free day (first Friday of the month), but with that free ticket you only get 2 to 3 hours in the afternoon before the place closes, so it's a great taster to make you want to come again! Our kids ages 2 to 7 all had a great time! There was so much to do, from walking through the river and doing water play, to sand play in the pretend lake, to crafts (that we didn't have time for), to climbing equipment, and building/engineering/physics activities. Plenty of things to do both indoor and outdoor. The physics section is great for older kids too, even middle school (but the rest of the museum is definitely geared to elementary).

Outside, there are two adjacent outdoor kid's playgrounds. Near the entrance they have juice and fruit vendors and a balloonist. Entry fee is very reasonable at under $50 for family of three with in-and-out privileges. Inside the museum, its like 80% outdoor exhibits and 20% indoor. They have an onsite cafe and food vendors throughout. The outdoor exhibits has a park area dedicated to physics. You'll see fans, pulleys, etc. to help your child appreciate scientific concepts while having fun. They also have tie-dye stations, climbing structures, tricycle race tracks, live music, and my son's favorites - the sandbox and pretend farmer's market and veggie patch. I noted lots of friendly staff dressed as camp rangers working with the kids and maintaining order with a smile, which is huge. Inside the buildings, you'll see traditional kid activities like toy trains, quiet reading areas, legos, and even more climbing structures. Looking forward to coming back next time we're in the area. The in-and-out policy is nice since they have lots of nearby offsite restaurants in nearby Old Pasadena.

And honestly, best decision. The second we walked in, she just froze. Then started running around, pointing at everything like she owned the place. The bouncy house and slide combo had her completely gone. I literally sat down, opened my laptop, and got two hours of actual work done, with real WiFi. I mean, come on. You could easily spend the entire day here. There are comfortable couches to lounge on, great picnic tables with high chairs, and you can bring whatever food you want, which is such a game-changer. No overpriced snack bar guilt. Just pack what you need and stay as long as you want. And the music is actually great, not just kids music, real music that the adults can enjoy too. It makes such a difference. We loved it so much that when her birthday came around, it was a no-brainer. She's really into Mario Brothers right now, so we went all in on the theme, and the decorations were amazing. Like genuinely impressive. But what I remember most is that I did nothing. The staff handled everything, and they were so warm about the whole thing, not in a corporate way, just real. Other reviewers say the same thing, and they're not exaggerating. For anyone who has ever stress-spiraled while planning a kids party, trust me on this one. What I wasn't expecting was how much I'd love the space itself. I'm kind of an architecture nerd, and this building is gorgeous, old, historic, with these incredible vaulted ceilings. It doesn't feel like a typical kids gym at all. Apparently, it's been used as a filming location for both Shameless and The Office, and honestly, that tracks completely. It has that kind of soul to it. The neighborhood is great, too. Amazing restaurants and coffee shops right outside. We grabbed coffee, wandered through some shops, and came back. The whole day just flowed. Oh, and don't forget to bring socks for the adults. There's plenty of street parking, so that part is easy. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling like you both got something out of the day. That's not easy to find. If you haven't been yet, go. You'll wonder why it took you so long.

The whole place was super clean and well taken care of, which is always a huge relief for a kids' spot. I was a little worried about finding parking, but there was actually plenty of street parking available when we went. To top it all off, they were playing some seriously cool music, which made hanging out there fun for me too instead of the usual annoying Disney tunes on loop. We'll definitely be back, it's a total lifesaver for burning off some serious toddler energy!

We easily booked our classes on their site. There was 4 of us and we each had to sign up for admission. You get to pick your animal, color, and accessories right when you book so be ready. We even added extra accessories in store and it was totally fine to pay additional when you're done, but highly recommend picking accessories ahead of time because they have a team that makes your accessory by hand days before. The place had a small door to enter through from the street. You have to call them to have them open the door. Then you walk down this staircase and see a small studio. It was super cute being all white and made the plushies stand out. There are different stations you do together and with the help of the staff. They set you up at each and give you clear directions on how to build your plushie. They are only feet away if you ever have issues or need help which happened a lot actually so glad they were on hand to help answer questions and save us when the war got stuck. Not an easy crafting activity by any means, it requires you to pay attention to where you are catching yarn and sticking needles but it was well worth the short breakdown moments. The total activity took about 2 hours and they don't allow any outside food or drink inside. You can bring a water bottle but thats it. The staff was fantastic. These girls were so patient and have so much experience. They did a lot of work keeping our plushies from dying before they even came alive. Please make sure you tip the girls when you leave because they do so much to make our plushie as cute as possible. So many customization elements throughout including where you put ears and noses. Super cute! My girlfriends and I had the best time and made awesome memories struggling to make our cute plushies. I especially had fun stuffing them and making them into the shape I want. I made a yellow bunny which was the 1st of its kind according to the staff so I felt like mine was extra unique. They have a ton of options combos for animals colors and accessories so have fun picking. Quality of the plushie itself was awesome. I have mine living on my couch and it's held up so well. Super soft and just adorable to look at. Definitely a place you can have a fun get together with your friends and family and everyone will enjoy it.

Before the class starts, the instructor gives a clear demo, and throughout the session, there are screens showing techniques step-by-step, so kids can comfortably follow along and adapt at their own pace. Nothing feels difficult or intimidating. The instructor quietly walks around, making sure each child has what they need and offering support without interrupting their creative flow. They're attentive, calm, and truly professional. The pricing is a bit on the higher side, but totally worth it for the quality of instruction and support. Check for promotions or deals. Everything is super colorful and set up in a way that actually keeps them entertained instead of getting bored after 10 minutes. One thing I really appreciated was how clean it was. That's always my biggest concern with indoor play places, and this one felt really well taken care of. The staff were also really nice and present without being overbearing, which made the whole experience feel easy and comfortable. There's a good mix of things to do too--areas for younger kids and enough going on for slightly older ones so no one feels left out. It's one of those places where kids can just run around and be kids while parents can actually sit for a second and breathe. Overall, it just felt easy, fun, and stress-free. The food was above average, many options, but I didn't try a lot of items. The two employees, a teen boy and girl were very helpful with assisting the children, although they seemed young to be unsupervised. An area of concern for me was the food service/safety. I had ordered a hot beverage and it was brought to me without a lid and placed on the table. At that moment, my child reached over to grab food and spilled the entire hot drink on himself. Thank God, it was not serious and I was next to him able to assist him without needing medical attention by a professional. Being that it is a kids place, I wish they would implement lids for all hot drinks to avoid something like this in the future. I think this is also something that a supervisor could have noticed before the food got to the table and prevented.
