OK, so my daughter has watched the Meekah episode filmed here probably a hundred times. No exaggeration. So when I figured out it was actually close to us, I was like, we have to go. And honestly, best decision. The second we walked in, she just froze. Then started running around, pointing at everything like she owned the place. The bouncy house and slide combo had her completely gone. I literally sat down, opened my laptop, and got two hours of actual work done, with real WiFi. I mean, come on. You could easily spend the entire day here. There are comfortable couches to lounge on, great picnic tables with high chairs, and you can bring whatever food you want, which is such a game-changer. No overpriced snack bar guilt. Just pack what you need and stay as long as you want. And the music is actually great, not just kids music, real music that the adults can enjoy too. It makes such a difference. We loved it so much that when her birthday came around, it was a no-brainer. She's really into Mario Brothers right now, so we went all in on the theme, and the decorations were amazing. Like genuinely impressive. But what I remember most is that I did nothing. The staff handled everything, and they were so warm about the whole thing, not in a corporate way, just real. Other reviewers say the same thing, and they're not exaggerating. For anyone who has ever stress-spiraled while planning a kids party, trust me on this one. What I wasn't expecting was how much I'd love the space itself. I'm kind of an architecture nerd, and this building is gorgeous, old, historic, with these incredible vaulted ceilings. It doesn't feel like a typical kids gym at all. Apparently, it's been used as a filming location for both Shameless and The Office, and honestly, that tracks completely. It has that kind of soul to it. The neighborhood is great, too. Amazing restaurants and coffee shops right outside. We grabbed coffee, wandered through some shops, and came back. The whole day just flowed. Oh, and don't forget to bring socks for the adults. There's plenty of street parking, so that part is easy. It's the kind of place where you leave feeling like you both got something out of the day. That's not easy to find. He was completely obsessed with the bounce house and the soft play area, and honestly, he would've stayed in those two spots all day if I let him. I was a little worried about finding parking, but there was actually plenty of street parking available when we went. To top it all off, they were playing some seriously cool music, which made hanging out there fun for me too instead of the usual annoying Disney tunes on loop. Peekaboo Playland is such a sweet spot to host birthday parties for toddlers. They provide the decorations, plates, and clean up. The kids are entertained for hours indoors, comfortably. They have a plethora of toys, an indoor bounce house, and slides.There's multiple rooms with toys, legos, mini kitchen sets, tricycles, and more. The best part? No electronics, televisions, or arcades. All the kids are incredibly active. I didn't see a single battery operated toy. All my nieces and nephews love it here! Along with having great accommodations, the facility is clean, Monica Gellar clean. Also, the staff is super helpful. Peekaboo is open M-Fri 10-5p with weekends closed to private parties. We had our sons 1st birthday here and it was stress free. Working with the Peekaboo team made it so easy. All of our guest complimented the venue, and the kids seemed to have fun. From booking, we were able to pick from their many themes, the decor looked amazing! They also accommodated small modifications to what they had. We also brought in extra decor and they put it up. The ladies working that day helped set up our food, provided buckets for drinks, and coordinated the party to make sure it flowed perfectly. We had an outside vendor come in (puppet show) which they had space for. They helped announce the group picture, birthday song and did the cake cutting. They helped us pack afterwards too! I don't know if today is notoriously just a bad day to attend this place week-to-week, but I will never come back here again. This "kid-friendly" place is supposed to be a space inclusive of kids of various ages, genders, ethnicities, personality types, etc, yet what I encountered with the multiple MEAN, STUCK-UP moms that gave my daughter dirty, disgusting looks because she had the audacity to innocently explore the various areas of this place & engage in "open play" was downright uncalled-for. I monitored her every step of the way, and to see the constant judgment and hear the little quips, no kid should be subjected to that, especially when it's unwarranted! This isn't high school, there should be no room here, literally as well due to the limited space, for MOM cliques with their EGOS to operate as if certain areas or objects in this place are off-limits to anyone else but their own children, especially when private parties/events aren't involved. Obviously, there's no way to police how certain parents are supposed to act & behave around kids, but that experience was so terrible that I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone if that day is just a snippet of what type of parents usually frequent this place. read more

Pros: the actual play area downstairs is great! Bounce house, play structure, and lots of pretend play toys. Cons: - parking isn't horrible, but it's not great. - they charge parents for admission. This is a huge bummer as I remember taking my son here when he was little (4+ years ago) and they didn't used to charge adults. (Personally, I just can't justify this charge unless I personally was going to play in the bounce house and ride-ons myself.) Peekabo is amazing! My daughter plays here after school quite often and loves it. The space is big and has plenty of things to keep kids occupied: toys, dress up, slides, bounce house. There are a lot of places to sit. We just had my daughter's 4th birthday party here and it was a great experience. I'm 36.5 weeks pregnant so I wanted something easy. They made it super easy. We arrived with food, plates, utensils and they set it all up and cleaned it all up. They took care of all the decorations. They did the cake cutting, organizing a group photo, and helped people leave on time. Her party couldn't have been better! What a whimsical place for smaller, younger kids of all ages. With its vibrant colors, towering tree house, big jumper and slides, it's a wonderful place where my 3 and 4 year old girls can run around freely, expanding their imagination and creativity. I visited this play place today and had a very concerning experience. In the soft play area, there was a camouflaged door left completely open that led directly to the back of the building. It stayed open for about a minute, which easily could have allowed a curious child to wander into an unsafe area. When I brought it up to the staff member, her response was that "children shouldn't be left unsupervised" and that they've "been locked out before." While I fully understand that children must always be supervised (and mine were), part of the expectation when you visit a family play space is that the play areas themselves are designed to minimize obvious hazards. When you have multiple kids in play, parents should be able to trust that hidden doors or exits aren't left accessible. This response felt dismissive and disregarded the safety risk. A simple precaution -- like keeping doors securely closed at all times or better signage/barriers -- could prevent a very dangerous situation. I hope management takes this feedback seriously, because the space has potential, but child safety should never be compromised. read more

We held our daughter's third birthday yesterday a Peekaboo Playland and it was magical! I would give them a million stars if I could. The staff working the event were extremely attentive--they set up the food and drinks I supplied (we brought a large cooler with 2 bags of ice, one for cooling use and one for drink use), and provided the decorations (you can choose from several themes, or bring your own decorations if desired). The staff also manages the time and reminds the hosts of timing, encouraging a group photo, cake cutting time, and party wrap-up time. We were having so much fun that I asked if we could pay for an extra hour for the kids, which was immediately obliged. Between the play kitchen, the masterfully-crafted treehouse area, an incredible train set, and a full-size bounce house with giant slide, and 4-5 Little Tikes cars, the kids did not stop for one second! Per LA County regulations, guests must show proof of vaccination upon entry, which helped a lot of the guests feel a bit more comfortable attending. Adults must wear socks, but if forgotten, they can be supplied to guests and added to the final bill. This is a beautiful lil indoor play land for the littles but one thing that isn't the best is that it can get too crowded and sometimes even with parent's supervising their little ones, things can get out of hand. I think that the establishment needs a few people to watch in the jumping areas, slides and what have you to make sure there isn't a fight or raucous breaking out that the parent's can't see or aren't aware of for whatever reason. Some parents are very nonchalant abut how their children interacts with others but it can be unfair when their behavior goes uncorrected and unacknowledged and can leave another child feeling emotionally hurt On top of that, when things get a bit busy here there aren't more staff to clean the dirty toys that just left the kid's hands who had just put the toy in his mouth and picked some boogers, wiped it on their shirt and whatever else. Talk about a Petri dish of disgusting and no sanitizing is going on. There wasn't anyone at the front desk the entire time that I was here with my little one. there was for a moment when they wanted to collect my admission and what not but that was about it. There are in and out privileges. That was wonderful. Parking is on the street only but that isn't usually an issue. It's nice to have so many seating areas available to the kids but also for the parents. I noticed a lot of teenage - young adult baby sitters who brought their kids here. They read on their laptops, listened to music on their phones, etc. Obviously it gives them a break from having to entertain their little ones. I get it, completely. But I still think that you need to watch your littles when you come here. I'm sure that they will have fun and all but there is still a lot for the adults to do and the staff here to work on. The play structure is very cute and I'm glad there are 2 bathrooms so readily available. That needs more attention too, btw. I hope to return one of these days but I also hope to see improvements being made. This is such a darling play place. read more

Took my little one here for a private birthday party. my little one loved it. there was a ball pit. there was a pretty big enough area that had a kitchen area. they had little tike coupes. and other things but those areas are what stood out to me since my little one was occupied with those areas/items the most. the difference between this play land compared to others is they do try to make use of every area possible. there's a lot of little private play areas. i am used to an open floor plan where you can kinda stand in one area and see across the room. with peekaboo you'll have to actually follow your kiddo around for a bit. so its both bad/good. depends on how you view it. i do like that the staff cleans, MC, helps pass out cake, the fact that they allow you to bring in your own refreshments, food, and even wine (private party). overall, i feel like its a great play space for a birthday party and they are open late. tips: *street parking *located on a corner *restroom has baby wipes and little other knick knacks for moms. *bring socks. *has cubbies to store your shoes. *you'll need to sign in as you walk in. *they allow you to rent their facility to host private events. *has a separate play section for kids under 2 yo. *you can bring your own food in (private parties) *they have a website, you can check out. read more

While my 1 1/2 year old had fun, I had some concerns. I went around 2pm so by the time I was there, their were toys everywhere. I doesn't seem like there really designated areas for certain toys. They just end up all over the place. Kids can put toys in their mouth and drop them and the only dirty toy bin is behind the counter. The front desk woman was on her cell phone the whole time. I definitely feel like the staff could be doing a better job at keeping the place clean and organized throughout the day. I like that there is an area for kids under 2 years old but it has way too many toys. The space is very crowded with furniture and toys and is very overwhelming. It makes it hard for them to play at the top when there is so much stuff. There was also a family eating on the couches instead of the tables and one kid was running around coughing the whole time which is absolutely unacceptable. I wanted to love this place but I'll continue to go to Playlab down the street where they have stricter health rules, clean regularly, have an outdoor area and don't charge for parents. read more

Oh, this is a really dope playground. There are a few playgrounds in the NELA area and I've been to a few of them already. I really love Peekaboo because not only do they have a central area where the kids can play, but they also have a separate area upstairs just for the babies. They also have a room with everything kitchen (my son really loved that), and another room with just random kid stuff. They also have these big ol' soft blocks they kids can tumble and play on. They also have a miniature ball pit! Admission is free for adults, but $10 for child (and that's without a season pass; you would need to check online for that). It's super worth it. I can catch up on my reading and writing while my kid plays and makes new friends. I recommend spending​ a minimum of two hours there if you don't have a season pass (and plus, the child probably won't want to leave after just an hour). read more

I remember back BACK in the day when this space was occupied by Eagle Rock Florist. My good friend worked there during her high school years as it was owned by her relatives so I thought I knew the layout of the place. Now that it's an indoor playground, it looks so much bigger than I remember. The space is accentuated with the high ceiling and partial second floor. I've been to many children's indoor playgrounds near and far and this one has its pros and cons. My best friend had her daughter's Frozen themed birthday party here one Friday evening. Parking was a challenge as there was a festival near St. Dominic's church/school which is on the street behind Peekaboo. People had to park all over the place or drop their kids off while one parent searched for parking. It was nice that they allow people to bring their own catering. We hauled in a lot of the food and one of the coolers had left a stream of water from the entrance to the tables on the right near the couch where the food was going to be set up. Several parents pointed it out so that it could be wiped up but the 2 girls that were working the store were a bit overwhelmed. One was helping set up the food and the sterno trays and the other was up front helping check people in. It took a while for them to wipe the water from the floor. We woulda done it ourselves but there were no paper towels around and people were stepping on the water getting their socks wet. Not good... Another observation is that the wooden playground structure in the middle of Peekaboo is not the safest and definitely not made for older kids. And when I say older, I mean 6-8 year olds are pushing it. It doesnt look entirely safe and there were too many exposed wood end points for kids to hurt themselves on... on that structure and the wooden "fencing" near the front of the place. Peekaboo is probably best for smaller children with a lot of supervision. Even with my niece having her nanny in tow, it was still a little sketchy for my liking. Maybe I'm just being overly-picky but try them out for yourselves, you may have a different feel for the place. read more

We booked my daughter's 3rd birthday party here at Peekaboo Playland and couldn't have been happier! The party was a huge success and I didn't feel like I had to do much because Nancy and her team took care of a lot of it for me! I had researched various indoor playgrounds and ended up choosing Peekaboo because of its package options, price and cleanliness of the place. I love the look and feel of the place and liked that it had something for different age group from little babies to older 4-5 year olds. The thing that impressed me the most was how helpful/professional/amazing Nancy and her team is. Nancy was always response and available whenever I had questions. I had stopped by couple of times before the party to determine decorations I can use for the space and Marcie was there both times and helped me a great deal. On the week of the party, I brought some decorations in to see how everything would fit and Marcie was so nice she helped get the banner ready. On the day of the party, when I arrived to set up, I was already impressed that all the decorations I left there was already set up and ready. Jasmine and another girl, who I forgot the name of :(, both were very quick to help set up the rest of the stuff I brought in (catered food, cake, dessert table, party favors, etc.). They were amazing throughout the party and even got 20+ kids together to do a group photo! I got a lot of good feedback from our guests. Everyone had a lot of fun. I threw my son's 4th bday party here and I couldn't have been more pleased. The fact that they take care of decorating not just the kids' tables, but also the dessert table, is a huge plus. Our theme was Spiderman and they were able to easily bring it to life. All I had to do was bring the food, drinks, and Spidey himself. The other thing I loved was how organized the party felt. There were 2 workers who kept us on schedule and used a speaker to announce things like pizza time, cake time, and announcing surprises for the birthday boy. I loved that, because otherwise, it's just way too hard to wrangle kids. A few tips: 1. Parking is a little tricky but as long as you're prepared, it will be fine. There is parking without time limits, just one block away in front of St Dominic church. 2. For catering, they recommended Four Cafe, which is just a few doors down. I was able to get some amazing high-end finger foods, which were a total set up from the typical sandwich platters. 3. I sent them a playlist of all of my kid's favorite songs and they were able to play it for me without me needing to bring in any equipment. 4. I booked a 3 hour event which was totally worth it. With traffic and usual toddler drama, some guests trickled in 30 mins late. Having that extra hour was perfect because we were not in a rush. All in all, I wouldn't change a thing. Nice place for kids. Girls at front desk always polite and welcoming. Their biggest downfall is that they charge you full price even if you come for the last 20 minutes before closing. Happened to us all the time where after school we took our son here and had an hour - always the same charge. I've seen 2 parents also complaining about this and ask for a discount since they were there for the last 30 mins. Needless to say they didn't agree. $10 for 30 mins is steep. It would be nice if they had a last hour special for $5 or something like it. I'd definitely go more. I bumped this review to 4 Stars due to the fast response from the owner. While I still don't agree and there are ways to do this (this is a simple issue that can be resolved with some creativity), such fast response and show of care goes a long way. read more

It pains me to write this review because I know the reviews have been amazing. But I do hope that writing this review will serve to make some serious health concern changes. The main issue I had was there is no barrier between food areas and play areas. I was appalled to see kids being fed and them throwing away food on the floor while another kid (of course) picks it up, and eats it. It was also very surprising to see people bringing their coffee in the middle of the play area while some kids knocked it over and of course spilling it right in the middle of the floor. There is an ongoing stomach flu (norovirus and shigella) around. I think there should be a distinct barrier between play and dining area for health concerns. I definitely will not be bringing my child back but I do hope that they make some changes for the health/safety of other children out there. read more

Would be ok but they charge both parents the same price to just sit and supervise. All the toys are for tiny people, it's not like we're getting on rides. An additional $24 to keep our children from destroying the place hurts. Especially since their front desk people are just on their phone & do not attempt to clean up or intervene when another child is being inappropriate. If you're going to charge a parent to "take up space" you should at the very least make sure there is a space for them-clear of trash and old food. read more
