The good: I cannot believe I didn't know about this place sooner! This place was amazing for my two kids (age almost 3, and almost 5). I loved how most of it was outdoors with natural elements. The physics area had tanbark. There were yurt-type tents for private birthday parties. There's a theater area where people played guitar and performed songs like "you got a friend in me." Parking was free! The parking lot was massive and easy to find a spot. The stream was fun for kids to get wet in without the dangers of sharp real rocks. I also loved the stream and sand area with soft rocks. My kids could've stayed in that area forever. There were also climbable areas with well-thought out side spaces for parents to follow their kids without parents having to get into the play structure itself. We enjoyed tie-dyeing cloths and bicycle riding. I liked how there were different size bikes and even a 2 person bike. My older toddler drove my little toddler but adults can also ride in the bike and peddle for little ones sitting in the front. The neighborhood around the museum was also beautiful with mature canopy trees and natural canyon-looking areas. The price is also really affordable at $15-16 pp. There's senior discounts as well. In the craft room my kids made adventure books. We spent 3 hours there but could've easily spent more if it weren't for kids being too tired. The bad: We didn't fully get to explore the indoor area because it was really crowded. We didn't see the foam blue blocks that Blippi played with in his episode. There was a long wait for the bike rides but it was because each kid gets to go 4-5 laps. $6 dip-n-dots in a tiny bag are a rip off. I wish they had better ice cream options there. We went last Sunday and I can't believe it's taken us this long to go here! My 4 year old and almost 3 year old loved this place. We managed to go on the last day of butterfly season and my kids really loved all the butterfly touches. You HAVE to check their event calendar RIGHT before going because they are closed random days... i've driven over there multiple times only to find that they're closed so what I decided to do was put their event calendar in mine and marked the days that they would be closed and the days that they have toddler Tuesday... Well, it turns out they change their calendar and don't put out any announcement about it and so what I marked down is now incorrect . It's really frustrating. I wish they would send out an update when they decide to change their calendar or maybe just not put out the calendar so far in advance if they're going to change it.. All that being said, this place is great. We come here all the time. I started taking my baby when she was eight months old and I found out about their baby room, which is an amazing developmentally appropriate spot for babies to grow. They have carpet which is essential for babies learning to crawl. If you have a 0-12 month old DO not skip out on this! It's the absolute best part of KS IMO. Now that my child is almost 2. She loves the whole place... Her favorite is the stream... Make sure you bring an extra set of clothes and a towel because your kids will get wet! It's great that they change up their theme so often and that they bring in new items to play with all the time... We particularly love the clay table for the spring and I love the sensory bins on toddler Tuesday. Toddler Tuesday is absolutely wonderful. People always ask how it's different.- well, they set up the art room for toddlers so instead of having crafts where you may have to use scissors don't have something similar like painting ice... They also have sensory bins set up for them as well as some fun activities like sidewalk chalk. There are less older kids there which makes the toddlers have more freedom to roam about. read more

We made a last minute reservation for Sunday 4/26 with our membership. Morning slots were sold out so we got 12pm. We arrived a little before 1pm. Today they had two special events: 1) meet a mermaid, and 2) party in paradise (Guam dancers). Today was particularly busy with Ronald McDonald House run from 9-11am and free admission for those who participated. Love that Kidspace has themed events to keep families coming! Lots of beautiful themed decorations in the front entrance and right as you walk through. We went straight to the reading area to get in line for meet the mermaid. We waited about 15 minutes. The mermaid was very friendly and played the part well. There were lots of Kidspace photographers. Next we went to the 1:30pm "party in paradise" performance at the outdoor amphitheater. My girls' (almost 5 & 7yo) favorite is the craft room. Today's activity was still the paper butterfly cutouts (we came on 3/30). They could spend the whole visit in the craft room! Los Trompos is also another favorite! Other favorites we didn't get to today: muddy boots farm, blue ocean area, arts/crafts up at the top of the hill, tricycles, climbing structures (2 indoor, 1 outdoor). My youngest really wanted to do the pressurized water bottle experiment. It wasn't working properly today, but a little boy showed us the trick. Sorry this is a late review from spring. Went here with my godson and his family. There is a playground before you arrive at the entrance. A lot of parking available too. Tickets were bought via their website. There are some seasonal themes here. You can see a lot of florals and bugs in their display since it is springtime. One of the most fun activities is the tricycle ride. They provide the kids helmets. There's a mud, kitchen, small stream, indoor activities, small outdoor shop, main shop, a small restaurant with outdoor seating. I would say you can enjoy the place in 1-2 hours. I took my 3-year-old daughter to Kidspace and she had such a great time! There are lots of hands-on activities and little experiments for kids to explore. She especially loved the bikes -- they provide helmets, and it was her very first time riding one with me, which made it extra special. She also had so much fun on the bouncy toy cats in the little playground area. We visited during their Halloween season, and while my daughter absolutely loved the confetti and the Halloween parade, I personally felt like the Halloween "experience" was a bit underwhelming compared to how it looked online. It was mostly just a pumpkin backdrop. That said, she really enjoyed making a magic potion and creating her own monster -- those activities were a hit. Overall, I think Kidspace is a very fun spot for toddlers and even slightly older kids. Since we don't live in the area, I'm not sure we'd be back right away, but my daughter loved it enough that I could see us making another trip in the future. I take my 4 year old niece here every once in a while and it's a really great way to keep kids occupied for a couple hours. I like how there's a mixture of fun, learning, and crafting. As a person who love science, I was thrilled with their outdoor area with lots of physics activities to do! It was fun to teach my niece why some things happened but I will say she didn't really understand. This area might be more fun for older kids. Inside, her favorite is the craft area. Today, we made "winter wands". I think this is the best craft we've made so far! On a previous visit, we made a book. This might be fun for older kids but my niece can't read yet so she didn't enjoy it that much. However, the wands she loved and she already asked me to come over to her house and play with the wands together! Outside, her favorite activity was the tricycles and the ice building blocks. Usually, during other seasons, there would be sing-along shows in the amphitheater but during winter, they cancel all shows and put out plastic ice blocks. My niece made some friends and played "elsa" inside their ice house. We also enjoyed the farm area and the boat sand area. Kids space also has a sock skating rink for $5.50 extra if you'd like to participate. When I was a kid, I loved coming here and now, it's so cool to take my niece back and do some of the same activities I loved to do more than ten years ago. Kidspace is mostly an outdoor museum that's all about physics. I love that they have a lot of things to do outdoors because it's a nice change from all the indoors museums. My kids love playing with all of the physics activities. Some of them are a little challenging to figure out at first, but once you do, it's pretty fun! They have a pretend camping area, and my daughter loves that area. They also have a smaller river and pond area where the kids can get wet and play with toys. Indoors, they have a play structure where kids can pretend to be ants! They have a lot of role-play or pretend play areas. They also change themes and activities for the kids every couple of months. My kids also loved their small bike area, but it looks like it's mostly for younger kids. Although I did see a mom riding a small bike, so I guess there's no age limit. They have a food court with food, drinks, and snacks. We didn't buy anything there, but the options look pretty good. They also have more than one bathroom, which was great because kids have to go use the restroom urgently, and it's convenient to have a restroom close by to any of the locations inside the museum. I also have to mention that all the people that work there are so friendly and welcoming to kids! I love that! We had a nice time and will be back soon. read more

This is a great inexpensive place with free parking to take the kiddos. Lots of places to run, play, climb, splash in the water. There are indoor and outdoor activities. Indoor they offer crafting and jungle gym type areas to climb, run, slide. Outdoors they have tricycle riding course, water table, play farm and farmers market with plastic fruits and veggies. They also have lots of discovery stations. There was a man made creek with flowing water over rocks and a waterfall. The reasons for 3 stars: 1. Lots of employees who kinda just stand around. They don't really interact with the kids or offer suggestions or help, maybe even encourage. 2. The water sprouts weren't really working . The creek water looked very dirty, waterfall didn't stay on. Rotten egg sulfur smell was coming from this area as well. 3. Discovery stations weren't all functioning or working. This place has the feel of being in need of renovations, fast! The kids had fun, and that's all that matters in the long run. I really hope they do some renovations, stay up on broken equipment, clean and fix the water play areas. Went on another field trip to Kidspace museum! Entrance fee for kids and adult is $15.50. It's such a fun and magical place with so much to see and so much to do!!! I can't stop talking about how much I love this place!!!!!!!!! There's plenty of picnic tables and benches for you to sit and eat! There's a cafe where they sell drinks and food.. however, they do not accept cash so please accordingly! It's a cashless place. Give yourself plenty of time to explore. Bring snacks, water, drinks from Home! Bring extra clothes for your littles ones because they will want to get wet! Bring extra socks, shoes, and clothes. Trust me... they will get wet! Came here with the kids and overall had a great time. Definitely a solid spot if you have younger kids that need to burn energy. Lots of hands-on activities and interactive exhibits. I brought my granddaughter here. We had a little overnight trip to Pasadena and it did not disappoint. Im not going to say too much except for that she had a blast, I love that everything is very interactive and at the same time educational like you were learning science and stuff lol. We probably spent about four hours or so there, they have little snack vendors as well as a dining area where you can get your typical foods like hamburgers, hot dogs, chicken tenders ect. The museum is located across from the Rose Bowl. There is a parking lot altho currently limited parking due to the emergency vehicles helping the LA fire. Make reservations on their website. I was impressed by the amount of things to do there. Like a huge playground for kids of all ages. And they change things up so if you go more than once you could be seeing something else. They have a small indoor area of play trains and climbing area and pretend play. Outdoors they have a biking area and for the very little ones the adults can ride with them. Further up there is a farming play area and a lake play area then a water river that you can step into. We took the kids to the Children's Museum in Pasadena and they had the best time! My kids (6 and 8) and my little one (2) all found activities they loved which is rare. The exhibits are super interactive, from science experiments to pretend play, and everything is set up in a way that keeps the kids curious and moving. Fun outdoor and indoor kid museum. Only downside is that it's very crowded and packed. It's located inside of a large park which is nice since you have additional free playground access for the little ones. They do museum reciprocity which is helpful for outside children museum members like us who are traveling from out of state. The bike driving was a hit as was the campground with pretend fire and logs. The outdoor farmers market with larger than life produce was phenomenal. There are also climbing and ropes spots indoors and outdoors for kids. Some discovery STEM activities indoors but it's so crowded that it almost takes away from an actual learning experience. Otherwise if less people it would be epic. Food onsite is bean sprouts cafe which is the norm for most children museums. It technically is handicap accessible but with the amount of kids running around indoors might be challenging in real life to navigate. Outdoor amenities are easier to enjoy for accessibly. Oh if you have little little ones that like to splash there is a stream outside they can wear swimming gear to splash. So bring extra sandals, a change of clothes and towels. Easy and ample parking. The first time we went to Kidspace, it was because we showed up at the Huntington without reservations and needed alternate plans for a day in Pasadena. We ended up staying for five hours, and had to drag our boys kicking and screaming out of blue sand when it was time to leave for dinner. They were not sad about missing the plants. My older son has been in school for three years, so I've been to a good percentage of the ticketed play spaces and children's party venues across L.A. Kidspace is by far the most impressive, a giant children's museum with too many fun, interactive exhibits to exhaust in a single day. We went again for a fifth birthday party, and my boys had an absolute blast. The party took over an indoor room and an outdoor dining area for the structured festivities, but for the most part, the kids ran around playing where they wanted. This is the disadvantage of Kidspace, compared to an indoor playground: if your goal is to get twenty pre-schoolers to hang out with each other in celebration of your child, that is hard to accomplish in an expansive wonderland encompassing a dozen distinct play zones. If your goal, though, is to host a free-ranging good time for your birthday kid and his classmates, this is the place to do it. The space is amazing, the price point is reasonable, and a staff member helps with set-up, clean-up, and wrangling small guests (she was very nice to my boys). And not to worry--the children will gather dutifully for pizza and cake. After two visits, I think my boys have explored most but not all of the offerings at Kidspace. The first time we went, we spent like three hours in the central courtyard and indoor pavilion, not realizing how much more there was to see. The courtyard is sort of the core of Kidspace, with a Bean Sprouts Cafe, picnic seating, and a ton of play structures and exhibits with a STEM or at least curiosity-building flavor. My kids have enjoyed a ball launcher, a bottle rocket, a giant lever, a rotating fan. They've gotten dizzy with delight on the colorful spinners. The pavilion is accessible from the courtyard and offers plentiful indoor entertainment, which must be especially useful on a hot day. It includes a thoroughly engrossing play room for babies and toddlers, with all kinds of good toys for building, sticking, spinning, and rolling. There's also an ant hole/climbing tower, an art room, and an exhibit room where we saw a lot of bees and played with toy butterflies. But some of the best parts of Kidspace are in what I think of as the museum's enormous outback. There's a trike track, a wading stream, a play farm, a climbing structure with bridge made out of rope. My boys have had a couple jam sessions with a little sculpture garden of percussion instruments anchored to the ground. They've spent hours in the "lake" of blue sand, digging and dumping and playing with the child-sized boat. On our last visit, one of the other moms asked permission to take my older kid to the stream with her and her daughter. I assented and stayed in the main party zone with my toddler, keeping an eye on him while I talked to the other adults. By the time we made our way to the stream, a full hour had passed, and my five-year-old did not miss me. He and his brother proceeded to ignore me and pour sand on each other while I hung out with the other parents. We live far from Pasadena, but Kidspace is absolutely worth the drive. Took my daughter to Kidspace when she was 16 months old and she had the best time. She's a very active early walker and this place was basically her dream come true. So much to climb, explore, and run through. We went on a weekday, shoutout to my friend who suggested that, and it was super chill and not crowded at all. The staff is friendly, the space is clean, and there's a little cafe with pizza and healthy stuff for kids. We brought our own food but I peeked at the menu and it looked great for little ones. Not exactly what I'd want for lunch but hey, it's a kids' museum, not a brunch spot. There's a place to sit and eat whether you brought food or grab something there, which is key when your toddler suddenly loses their mind from hunger out of nowhere. The outdoor water area is very cool. There's a rocky stream with little waterfalls that older kids were loving and a smaller sand and water spot that's perfect for toddlers. My daughter didn't go in but was completely hypnotized. We're definitely going back when the weather is hotter and she can splash around. They also have music activities and seasonal events, especially on weekends. Lots to do and it doesn't feel like you're walking in circles for hours. It's a big space and great for letting kids burn energy without destroying your home. You can bring a stroller but heads up, some areas don't allow them inside. You'll have to park it outside here and there. Not a huge deal but good to know so you're not surprised mid-meltdown. Quick tips. Bring extra clothes if your kid might end up in the water. Pack snacks even if you plan to eat there. Bring sunscreen. Maybe a towel. Definitely go on a weekday if you can. Overall, amazing place. Your kid gets to run wild and you get to feel like a parenting champion for the day Update: went again and in just a couple months there's already so much new stuff! So it is worth going multiple times a year and now I'm thinking the membership might actually be worth it. We happen to arrive during lunchtime so we got grilled cheese, Mac and cheese, chicken pesto pizza. We also got refillable cup for lemonade and got 1 free refill. If you are a member of any of the museums part of the ASTC, you are allowed 4 ppl for free. Worth it IMO. Mostly outdoors with some indoor installations and very reminiscent of the BADM in Sausalito. read more

Just threw a birthday party for my son at Kidspace Museum. We rented the Celebration room which is capped at 50 guests (adults and kids) for 2 hours. It's great because all party guests are welcomed to stay the whole day regardless of what time your party is. We had our guests come a couple hours earlier so that the kids could have plenty of time looking around...as there is SO much to see and do. The room itself was a lot bigger than we had anticipated so our decorations were a bit "small". The staff were super nice and helpful from the time we arrived until we left. The room came with 2 sinks (with soap and napkins- perfect for kids to wash up before eating). There were plenty of kid-sized tables and chairs as well as for adults. It was a nice, big room with A/C. Perfect for a hot day. They also allow outside food and help with clean up- which was great!! I highly recommend hosting a party here for the little ones. read more

Very cool place to take your toddler! They offer free admission every now and then, and my sister in law told me about it! We signed up and met her, my bro and their kids there on a Sunday afternoon. My daughter is two years old and loved it! There's an outside area which has fun stations where you can ride bikes or play with water and an inside area with toys, books and a climbing area. We didn't eat there but there's a cafe. There's also a park on the outside of this place, which is cool. Lots to do for the kiddos! read more
