Aside from this gym always being uber clean (a few hairs here and there in the sauna room) but for a gym this place would be considered immaculate. The sweat sesh you get is bar none. I literally sweat and smell horrid so I must be detoxing right ;-) hop in the in-house shower & you are good to go! I wish they had paper towels though in the bathrooms but bathrooms are always spotless. Staff is friendly and helpful. Love doing the class all by my lonesome ( hello three kids) . Only gripe would be that you can't really select ANY class at the time you go, they are preselected (though still good options)you have to wait until a window opens up for the class you want so sometimes I end up selecting something that was just convenient for time vs. preferred workout. Some of my personal favs: Pure Barre, Isometric, Hot Buns & Hot Cycle. Hoping I will have this same desire come dead summer to hang at HOTWORX. Because going from 100 degrees outside to 125 degrees inside seems like torture but results right?!? Anyway, at the moment I am loving the workouts, heat, sweat,exclusivity & convenience.

We each also paid a fortune for the mandatory yoga pads. It's not for everyone. Then my wife went back to school, so we had less time to go. They told me they would charge a $99 fee if I canceled within 6 months. Since I was paying about $100 per month, I figured I would just pay the fee, but then I was informed that I had to pay $100 fee for each of us. What a ripoff. My advice to you is to not sign up. It's simply not worth it.

It's by no means a small gym but I rarely waited for equipment and it's typically pretty empty compared to most gyms. It's also SUPER CLEAN. The only downside I would say has happened in the last year or so where they've hired more younger people who often workout during their shift and don't pay much attention to customers. When cancelling my membership I waited at the counter until the boy on shift (who was actively working out with someone) realized I was there.

The primary reason I stayed as long as I did was because the gym is usually quiet and uncrowded. Over time, however, I noticed increasing maintenance concerns, including equipment that remained out of service for extended periods, recurring air conditioning issues, and overall facility upkeep that seemed to receive less attention than it should. What ultimately prompted this review, however, was my experience with management. After 2.5 years as a paying member, I received a voicemail from the front desk staff informing me that my membership was being canceled because the facility was "not the best fit" for my needs and expectations. While I appreciate being notified of the decision, the explanation itself raised more questions than it answered. There had been no prior conversations with me about concerns, expectations, or issues that would have suggested my membership was at risk. Wanting to better understand the decision, I made multiple attempts to contact management, including phone calls and a direct message. None received a response. The issue was never the decision itself. The issue was the lack of transparency and communication surrounding that decision. After more than two years as a customer, I expected the courtesy of a conversation rather than a vague explanation and a one-sided notification. Customers should feel comfortable asking questions, raising concerns, and providing feedback about the services they pay for. Constructive feedback is how businesses improve. When concerns are met with silence rather than dialogue, it creates the impression that feedback is unwelcome rather than valued. No business is perfect. Equipment breaks. Air conditioners fail. Problems happen. What separates a good business from a poor one is how management communicates with customers and addresses concerns. In my experience, this gym fell short in both areas. In the end, PowerMaster Fitness felt less like a customer-focused gym and more like a private clubhouse that happens to sell memberships. If you're looking for a gym where communication, transparency, and customer feedback are valued, you may want to carefully consider your options before committing to a membership here.

Very impressive. We were swimming in their outside pool this weekend with 20+ lanes. You could see all perfectly from the stands and a nice cool breeze blows over the trees while you watch. Plenty of room to spread out. The meet ran a little longer than anticipated, so I would recommend the meet organizer allows more time in their schedule or reduce the number of 10 minute breaks between events. Otherwise, everything else was great. I look forward to my kids swimming there again. Definitely worth the drive to San Antonio for a swim meet.

All outdoor public swimming pools run by the city are free to all, open six days a week throughout the summer swimming season, and follow very similar rules and protocol. This review will focus on Roosevelt Swimming Pool and what sets it apart from other city swimming pools. As with most city pools, you are required to sign in at the front desk with name, age group, and gender. These roles help the parks department obtain funding to continue operation of the pools, so it is very important to sign in. Roosevelt Pool is a throwpack to 1950's pool design. Larger than most city pools, Roosevelt also is kidney shaped with several rows of concrete bleachers. This is one of the more popular pools and there are always dozens of people in the water, especially at the shallow end. It can get very crowded in the shallow area on weekends and holidays. The depth ranges from 3ft to about 10ft. There is usually ample room for swimming laps although the pool sides in the deep end can become crowded with teenagers, and we all know how they can be. Although it is a bigger pool, parking is limited, and you may find yourself waiting or walking up a stretch of hill to the entrance. There are male and female changing rooms that double as bathrooms. Roosevelt Pool is feeling its age, and you will want to be careful not to cut yourself on the rough cracks on the walls and floor of the pool. They hurt! The pool has a small waterslide for the kids, but they rarely open it up all season. Not sure why, but they just don't seem to like to. The manager for this pool is not the friendliest, and that attitude is passed along to the lifeguards who can be surly but are generally nice. Fruit and water are allowed in the pool area, but no other food. They have hourly or bi-hourly breaks for pH leveling, and you will spend between 20-30 minutes of time out of the water per break. The concrete can be very hot and shade is limited.

They also offer diving and swimming lessons, as well as a big area to just play in. I went to the Aquatic Center with a large group of teenagers that I was supervising and I was surprised at how assertive the staff were. They must have experience with unruly teenagers dive bombing off of the bleachers, because they were non too friendly while explaining the rules. Fortunately, the kids were so excited to be able to swim that they didn't mind sitting through a 15 -minute lecture. After that was over, the lady reluctantly released our group to get ready and jump in. The dressing rooms are fine, nothing special, but they do have that weird odor that comes from stagnant water sitting on the floor. I desperately attempted not to think about athlete's feet and other fungi while getting ready. They do have those cool machines that dry your swimming suits though, so that is a plus. I was excited to swim laps and dive, while most of the kids just enjoyed the recreational area. The Aquatic Center has pretty limited hours for family swim time (mostly just on weekends from 1 to 5 p.m. but with extended hours in the summer), but if you are interested in swimming laps, you'll have more options. This place isn't really fancy, but it definitely gets the job done. You can visit for only $4 or get a 16 visit punch card for $36 online. That's a great price, better than you will find most anywhere else. So if you want to get a few pounds from your waist but not your wallet, The Aquatic Center is your place.

Thinking ahead here, when it will get stupid hot later in the summer time, great way to take the kids to burn their energy and not get stir house crazy being inside all day - great way to break up the day from all the screaming and jumping around. The exhibits: wow, SO much variety! It's basically 2 stories, downstairs is the main floor area, and options! When you first enter, there's giant toy puzzles shaped as gears, then another room that takes you to a full on pretend city arena where there's little tykes cars for these kids to drive around in this pretend city, a HEB store front, airplane simulation, trolley, car wash, vet office, etc. so fun for these kids! Then another room where there's instruments like a giant piano and other fun things for kids to explore. Outside, there are 2 areas, one is a bubble play area to explore ways to play with bubbles in SO many different ways. Another outside area, playground with a giant slide, water play area with boats and things that you can imagine with water. For over stimulated kiddos, there's a room downstairs that's called a "calming room" where it's much quieter than out in the open if you need time to decompress from the chaos. Upstairs, there's a pretend to play with tools and right next to it and where you can assemble flowers. Now food wise, there's a Café Bakery Lorraine downstairs which include their macaroons, sandwiches, snack platter, crossiants, etc. It's a little pricey, but at least it's good! You are allowed to bring snacks, water inside, but not outside food like actual meals. Parking: it's free and first come first served out in the front area. Overall, we'll be back since we're now members! Excited to keep taking the kids here as there is so much to do here!

On the day I visited it was 103 outside by mid day I couldn't take the heat anymore and came here to cool off and get my hair wet I must say it was a totally refreshing way to escape the heat of the day! They have a good number of waterslides here as well as having all of them be completely different from the next one definitely the highlight of the slides has to be Thunder Rapids Water Coaster as it's the first of its kind in North America and wow is it fun I've never ridden a slide like this before and I found it to be super fun as well as Wet and totally unique to anything I've ever experienced before as the technology that created this is totally rad and a great way to knock out those huge stair cases! The ground here can get super hot I mean super hot and that's coming from me someone who's always barefoot at waterparks so make sure you bring some sandals or something to keep your feet cool from the burning cement or just try to walk in the shade and water spots to keep them from burning! As anyone who visits waterparks will tell you coming to one can be a great workout as well as a rewarding time as your climbing lots of staircases and getting some swim action in if you choose to do that wile your inside their huge State Of Texas shaped wave pool. The waterpark opened a bit later than the park but it was all good as it was super hot by then and this was much needed the best part about this is that Gold Pass members can get into the Water Park 10 min early so that will definitely save you a bit of time and get you on a few more slides! Overall I really enjoyed my time here at the waterpark as all the slides were fun and I thought it was cool that their wave pool had its unique Texas shape to it as it made for some fun waves and splashes!
