Dr. Hottinger's is a great dentist who is very skilled. Being 71 I've seen a lot of Dentists in my time and I have to say he's the best of all of them. He does a fine job with my cavities and when needed replacing my old amalgam fillings with crowns. Plus, he's got a great sense of humor too. After a horrible experience at another dental office, I think I can say I finally found the dentist for me! I was looking for a new dentist near me and came across this on Yelp. With the high ratings, I wanted to give them a try. They are located between Laguna Springs Dr. and W. Stockton Blvd. The complex has other dental offices but this one was not hard to find. I walked in to an empty lobby. I went to the front desk and let them know I had an appointment. The person at the front desk was very nice, soft spoken and professional. She explained the paperwork that were needed and instructed me what to do when they were completed. Within 10 minutes, 2 other patients came in. Each seat were 6ft apart which made me feel comfortable being there. After 5 minutes of turning in my paperwork, they called me in. My RDA during my appointment was Tiffany. She was very friendly and open. She went over what to expect for the appointment and let me know how many x-rays we were taking. She asked if I had any concerns and went over my paperwork. Also, she asked me if I had any symptoms or was exposed to COVID-19 in the last two weeks. After, we started the x-ray. She was very gentle with me. I have no complaints. I noticed after the x-rays, she was very thorough in cleaning the supplies that were used. Within a few minutes, the dentist came in! WOW. Super nice! We went over my x-rays and he made me feel so good about taking care of my teeth! Made me feel motivated to continue. He did go over my concerns and seemed very knowledgeable with his advice. I feel that communication is KEY! The previous Dental Office I went to, had me waiting there for hours and would feel rushed with several other patients there. I believe they properly make appointments where there is no overbooking which makes it great as a patient. I felt they genuinely had the time to take care of their patients. I booked an appointment for the cleaning within less than a 5 day gap. My previous dental office were within two weeks or more! I have no complaints and I am very satisfied how smooth my appointment went. read more

Dr. Jon and the team at Elite Dental are just plain awesome. They treat their patients as adults...meaning no guilt or prodding on hygiene habits, just facts. The realize that adults drink coffee, wine and maybe a soda or two. It just means you need to stay up on your appointments. I have been coming to Elite for over 10 years. It's always a pleasure visiting with the folks here. Everyone is attentive and easy to talk to. It seriously is like visiting with old friends. Dr. Hottinger is always kind and charming. In the two years I've been going to this office, they have not pushed me to get any unnecessary procedures. They have been keeping an eye on two of my teeth that might need fillings; but they've never pressured me to get the procedure done. Any decent dentist would've spoken to me about a clearly unusual medical condition. I may need surgery now and would have liked to have been warned about mitigating factors so that I can look to prevent further bone growth. read more

We have been coming to Elite Dental for years now and LOVE their new office. When you come to Elite Dental you can expect friendly service and honest advice. They will only recommend a procedure if you need it and they do a great job with their cleanings. The only reason I am taking away a star is because of their hours. It's difficult to find an appointment time if you work. I work a job where I get off at 2 and it's STILL difficult to find an appointment time! They close very early most days of the week and are not open on weekends. If you are someone who can take off time from work to come in then this is the place for you! The hygienists are the best you can ask for and Dr. Hottinger is great too! If you can't take time off work then I would find another dentist with longer hours. read more

I have been going to Elite Dental for many years and, frankly, I had been meaning to write this review sooner. My teeth were in pretty bad shape when I began going to Elite Dental. I had a history of neglecting to see a dentist for years at a time. Dr. Hottinger and his staff (I have seen 2 hygienists, Tanya and Justine, and they are both excellent) have continually taken good care of my dental needs, they have referred me to a specialist when that was needed, and they have encouraged me to make regular appointments for routine cleaning, to prevent any new problems. Excellent service, I had such a wonderful experience. I've been looking for a decent dentist office in the area. After finding them on Yelp! I called to get an appointment for a cleaning. They told me it was pretty backed up for cleanings but they could get me in for a new patient appointment right away The day before my appointment they called and said they could get me in early and I could get a cleaning which was awesome!! First off, I rarely leave rewiews - but I definitely had to show some love for Elite Dental. I had my first appointment today and must say the office was very clean and welcoming. Dr. Jon Eric Hottinger and I actually share the same name (except the last name, of course) which was pretty rare/weird. Never actually met anyone that shared my first and middle name with the same spelling. Dr. Hottinger seems like a really laid back cool guy and made me feel like I was in good hands. I think he definitely sets the tone for the office and you can see that all of the staff have a family type of bond - which is really nice to see in any professional work environment. I forgot his assistants name helping him, but she was great and made sure I was comfortable throughout my first visit while taking my x-rays. I was a little tense because I never had great experiences at the dentist before, but she really made me feel at ease while working on me and was very easy to talk to. She also made sure to check in with me on my comfort level, which was nice. After getting my x-rays and my check up done by Dr. Hottinger, I was setup with Jeanné for a cleaning (hopefully I spelled her name right, I briefly caught her name badge). She's one of their Registered Dental Hygienists and she was really great and easy to talk to as well. She made sure I was comfortable throughout my cleaning and really took care of me more than any of the other dental places I've been to. She did amazing work on cleaning my teeth and told me everything that I needed to hear about doing a better job of making sure they stay that way. Not to mention, she talked football with me. I'm pretty happy that I found a dental office that I can hopefully end up calling home for any dental services that I need. I highly recommend this dental office for anyone looking for one in the Elk Grove/Sacramento area. You'll be welcomed to good people, genuine good conversation, and great dental work. We have been patients of dr hottingers for years now. We've always had good service & I love the hygienist, but as this practice has grown.... The quality of care has gone down. My husband went in for excruciating pain in his LLQ. Hottinger examined him , took x-Rays, and could find nothing wrong... He then referred him to an oral surgeon (that extracted all 4 wisdom teeth over a year ago) The surgeon said he didn't really know why hottinger referred him back. Hottinger then said they would test the teeth next Thursday...(a week out) so..... I called s good friend of mine that manages a dentist office. They got my hubby in the same day, clearly saw the problem, (there was an infection) prescribed abx, and came in on a Sunday to do an emergency root canal. We will now no longer be coming here. Quality vs quantity is what has been forgotten here. read more

I recently moved my dental care to Elite Dental. I wasn't unhappy with my previous dentist, but due to insurance changes, I sought out a new provider. I am sure happy that I found Elite Dental! Their employees were so professional and warm, I had a great experience there... they have found a loyal customer! Dr. Hottinger was super friendly and explained everything thoroughly. I had been having some pain in one of my teeth, but he checked it out and recommended that I wait to see if the problem resolved itself on its own (he explained that messing with it could have made the problem worse). Guess what? He was right! My pain went away on its own... many other dentists would have been eager to treat the tooth for the revenue, but he used is expertise to make a recommendation that was correct. Their office is modern, clean and bright. The employees interacted so well together, it was obvious that they are treated well and that they love their jobs. Good job, Elite Dental... Going there with no pain or any issues and them telling me they have to do this and that always liquidating my dental fund.
