When you call to make an appointment they usually transfer you several times and place you on hold for a while. I have never had an appointment that was lost though, and have always been seen within the time period that I was supposed to. I see Jim Bogan for personal counseling as well as relationship counseling and he is awesome. He knows how to direct a conversation, gives great personal experience examples, and is a positive presence in our lives. He has made time to contact me on the weekend when I was going through a particularly rough time. He is always on time and if not biased toward either side during our couples sessions. If you have had issues with the overscheduling with other counselors, try Jim. I have never been cut short or waited for my appointment to start. The Maitland office was a little more disorganized in regards to the receptionsist, but when the receptionist was off somewhere, one of the docotors actually helped me and signed me in. Overall, what I am really looking for is a great counselor, as I have met with other counselors in the area and was not impressed. jim definately exceeded my expetations.

I was recently admitted to Orlando Health Behavioral Health, and unfortunately, my experience was…read morehorrible. I went there because I was struggling with severe insomnia, depression, and hearing voices. I went in around 6:45 PM and did not arrive on the behavioral health unit until approximately 9:30 PM. I brought all of my prescribed medications with me and explained that I was unable to sleep and was hearing voices. I was told that they could not give me my nighttime medications and that the only thing they could give me was Benadryl. I explained that Benadryl would not put me to sleep and that, because I was hearing voices, being left alone in a quiet room without being able to sleep was extremely distressing. I was told I had no choice. I sat on the bed and cried for approximately 45 minutes. At one point, someone came into my room while I had my hands over my face, and instead of asking if I was okay or offering support, I was asked whether I was finished with my water cup because it needed to be removed. There was an aide sitting outside my door who did bring me a towel for my tears, and I appreciated that small gesture. For approximately four hours, I could not sleep and repeatedly asked for help. I was repeatedly told that I had to remain in the room and could not receive anything else to help me sleep. I eventually asked the person sitting outside my door why she was watching me. She told me I was a "Q5." I had no idea what that meant, and when I asked her, she did not explain and simply remained quiet. I found this extremely frustrating, especially when I was already distressed and trying to understand what was happening. Eventually, I got dressed and told staff that I wanted to leave. I pointed out information in my paperwork that I believed stated I could leave. Two people came into my room and told me that I could not leave until I saw a doctor. At that point, the night nurse offered me something else to help me sleep, but I was so frustrated and overwhelmed that I continued saying that I wanted to leave. The nurse told me, "Don't let the doctor see you in that condition," and told me it was a yes-or-no decision. Eventually, I agreed to take the medication and was taken to what they called the "noise room," where I was allowed to watch television. Around 6:30 AM, shortly before shift change, another staff member came to my door and began speaking to the aide who had been sitting outside my room. He apparently believed I was asleep. He asked her why she had not contacted him to tell him that I was "giving her a hard time" and said there had been an email about me. He then began discussing other patients within my hearing. He talked about a patient with a UTI and made comments about patients potentially murdering people and staff being held responsible. He also discussed another patient's behavior and said that a male patient had been mean to him but apologized after taking his medication. I was not asleep. I eventually sat up and told him that he should not assume patients are sleeping and then discuss them within their hearing. I asked him several times for his name, and he refused to give it to me, saying that morning staff would be there in about 30 minutes. He also told the other staff member that he was leaving in about 30 minutes anyway. I went to the nurses' station to complain, and I could hear him laughing and saying that he would be leaving in approximately 20 minutes. I felt humiliated, uncomfortable, and extremely upset. At that point, I just wanted to leave. When I finally saw the doctor, I was crying and my face was swollen from crying throughout the night. I told him that I wanted to leave. I was told that if I tried to leave, he would send me to another hospital and Baker Act me. I felt like I had no choice but to stay. At that point, I felt that the only way to get through the situation was to comply and say what I needed to say so that I could eventually leave. Unfortunately, my concerns did not end after I left. I requested my medical records and discovered what I believe are serious inaccuracies. Medications were documented as having been given to me that I never received. Some documentation also appears to contain my name while describing events involving other patients. I have contacted the facility to report these discrepancies and request corrections, but I have had an extremely difficult time getting anyone to address the issue. My calls have been ignored or I have been given a difficult time trying to get these errors corrected. When someone is admitted to a behavioral health facility during one of the most vulnerable times in their life, they should be treated with compassion, dignity, respect, and professionalism. I did not feel that I received that treatment. My experience left me feeling ignored, embarrassed, frightened, and as though I had no control over what was happening to me.

I went to Camille Bocker in a very vulnerable state. I have chronic, disabling insomnia and…read morefrequent panic attacks. I told her that my goal was to use the doctorate I recently earned from UMass. That is, I live by my mind. Ms. Bocker gave me a drug that causes brain shrinkage--irrevocable brain damage--for insomnia. The Washington post has a very excellent article which states that inexperienced psychiatrists sometimes give this drug for insomnia, and a lot of people have suffered for their incompetence. I almost suffered from Ms. Bocker's lack of experience and training, which she didn't even warn me about--she presented herself as something she isn't: She has delusions of actually being a psychiatrist. She's a nurse practitioner. This woman could have (and would have, if not for my care of myself and my research) made it impossible for me to ever work again, after I came to her in the hopes of being able to get a full time job soon. Whether this was incompetence or malice on Bocker's part, the result would have been ashamed. I should not have to go to someone I desperately need to trust only to find that this person was going to see that I damage my brain. I threw out what she prescribed for me immediately and I'm searching desperately for a doctor who won't think it's not a problem to damage my brain because I'm an attractive woman. I didn't like the vibes I got--I had the distinct feeling that Camille wouldn't have felt too bad if she damaged my brain. After all, I have a Ph.D. and she is a glorified nurse practitioner. I should not have to cope with concerns and questions like this when I'm crying with pain (from literally not sleeping for weeks). I need a real doctor that I can trust to some degree. If I had gone on trusting this woman, I may have lost much of what makes me who I am. I can think of nothing that better defines my personality than my brain, and I'm not going to jeopardize it because someone else has responsibility she shouldn't have, not without much, much better training. Since when are we treating glorified nurse practitioners like doctors? Especially doctors who have gone the extra four years for the psychiatric specialty.

There are times that I have had to wait past my appointment - because she is helping another patient that needs her. I think that really falls under the nature of the business. If I am having a major crisis and need her (and have been there), she is there for me - And she will be for you as well. I can not say enough about Dr. Jones to really tell you how much I value her. 5 stars and I would give more if I could!

Heed all the one star reviews! I wish I did but I thought it was just people being picky, NOPE!…read moreThis place is AWEFUL, TERRIBLE, DISRESPECTFUL AND NEGLECTFUL of you and your health! They hooked me on meds and then without telling me anything at ALL they prescribed 25 instead of 30 days. It forced me to go in earlier. Then they did it to 20 and when I asked they said for my adhd meds I "need to take a break one or twice a week" which is total bs. They also do not predate prescriptions. I've been at another office now and they are 100000 million times better than this trash office. They give me a full month and they predate my prescriptions up to 3 months so I don't have to go every month. This office staff is always rotating and new, it's a sign of terrible management. I started going here thinking the reviews were wrong until Jones and the other doctor showed their true side. They have medicine reps that give them samples, they hook you on meds without checking your insurance because they're "better" for you but I very much so think the doctor is getting a cut of the profit. And I still never got anything that helped my depression, just a bunch of pills I had to fill forms out because I couldn't afford. They're very manipulative here. Also religious. One time I was asked if I tried praying and no, I never had because it's not my religion and that's when I realized I'm not working with a professional doctor. The wait times were always ridiculous, 30 minutes to an hour. ALWAYS. Your time isn't respected at all. Just to go in and be out in 5 minutes yourself. I once asked for some information and a nurse wrote it on paper for me. I noticed when I got home the paper was another patience insurance information. I had their whole name, insurance info, social, and knew they were a veteran because of their insurance. They're lucky it was me who shred and tossed it, but what if it was someone else? You guys seriously gave me an army vets personal information by accident? That's so sad. Her own front staff once recommended I go to someone else more appropriate for my age because she is older and "outdated" in her beliefs/understandings. I cannot recommend enough, GO SEE A DIFFERENT DOCTOR. THIS DOCTOR IS TERRIBLE. ROTATING STAFF IS A SIGN OF BAD MANAGEMENT. I went to a different care place and the difference is night and day. Please, please, heed my warning, do your self a favor, go to a different doctor. These doctors made my quality of life miserable because they were plying with my medicine dosage, taking forever to send meds because one doctor didn't want to get her own pad so she had to send them to Jones, who was clearly overwhelmed with patients because she would take days. If you wanted anything done in a timely manner you have to go it, forget phone calls. Please, again, do yourself a favor, look at the 2 star review and run. There are way better places than this trash office that does not care about you, that only cares about their pill samples and making money. Wish I could give negative stars. I wish so badly county or state would come and investigate this place. I'm sure malpractice is everywhere.
