My experience was definitely unforgettable... but not in a good way. :( my fiance and i were really…read moreexcited about potentially booking one of their dj's, pj, for our upcoming wedding. i gave them a call and whereas i'd had no problems with any vendors coming into manhattan to meet with us, they told us that they had a "no driving into manhattan without a contract" policy. i thought that was understandable, so made arrangements with my fiance to take the day off work on a tuesday to meet with the dj at our venue in clifton, nj. before the meeting, not knowing the etiquette, we asked the dj if we were expected to provide a meal. his reply was very curt and told us that "in 12+ years of dj-ing he'd never come across this question." yikes. we definitely didn't mean to offend and we apologized and assured him we'd be happy to pay for his meal. however, we scheduled another meeting with another dj just to have a back up. this dj was also in central jersey, came in to the city to meet with us, and gave us a great rate! my fiance and i were impressed but we had already gotten the time off work and the wedding wire reviews were so great that we decided we still wanted to meet with unforgettable djs. the meeting went very well! we thought pj had a lot of awesome, youthful energy. however, we wanted some time to think about it. my fiance and i debated and while the packaging price was better with the other dj, we thought that pj seemed like he'd bring more energy to the night. we e-mailed them explaining where we were in the decision-making process and asked if the price was negotiable. a few minutes later we received an e-mail that was essentially an e-mail RANT, accusing us of giving them "the bait and switch," listing all the trouble they'd gone through to meet with us. they also stated, "To offer my services for one dollar less is to de-value my services and I would never be able to do that." they also accused us of trying to steal their ideas ("I offered you input that you now will be able to use whether it's with me or any other DJ that you choose.") which seemed both paranoid and arrogant. i later called the owner of the company who apologized to me (hence the 2 star instead of 1). however, as a bride-to-be who is already stressed enough planning, having to tiptoe around one of my vendors is SO NOT WORTH IT. yes, maybe other people who used them loved them, but if you decide (or even LOOK like you're going to decide) to not go with them, watch out! an intimidating exchange at best, a demeaning one at worst. bring your business elsewhere. note: i was really surprised that wedding wire had ONLY glowing reviews about this place and looked up how the reviews worked. it seems that if there is a bad review, vendors can get that review pulled from the site. that's MESSED UP. secondly, i feel like a good chunk of the wedding wire reviews are fake because this place ALREADY has 1 filtered review posted. YAY for yelp for posting REAL reviews by REAL people and monitoring it!

All around, everyone at Unforgettable DJs was a pleasure to work with. My wife and I went off book in a lot of ways, ignoring a lot of typical wedding tropes to try and make the event something to really represent us, and Chris was right there with us the entire time. He was great about setting up meetings to talk through our plans, and helped a great deal in taking the random collection of ideas we compiled, and fine tuning them into exactly what we were looking for. Chris is really knowledgable about the dynamics of a wedding how crowds respond, what they expect, what kinds of music works best in what scenarios, etc. This kind of expertise was invaluable in figuring out how we could make everything work. Chris even had some great ideas of his own that really helped bring everything together. He hooked us up with uplighting, which really added a nice touch to the venue (we got married in a huge art gallery). And we were even able to book an awesome Red Carpet Photo Booth for the guests, which everyone loved. During the wedding itself, Chris did a great job of setting a fun and welcoming atmosphere for our guests. He really connected with the crowd, and was very responsive to the mood of the room. A lot of the music we selected wasn't really common for a wedding, but Chris managed to put it together in such a way that people really responded to it. Overall, we put a lot on Chris and his team to dictate the flow of the evening, since we weren't doing a typical sit-down dinner, but they did an amazing job keeping everything on track, while still feeling spontaneous. Since the wedding we've gotten a lot of compliments on it, and had several people ask for Chris' contact information to pass along to people they know getting married (which I think says far more than this long sprawling review could).

The way that Will talked about their business and how they approach weddings was exactly what we were looking for. We are all about the music and having an MC and a DJ to help with the flow of the night just made sense. Even though we didn't end up choosing that venue for our wedding we left feeling as if we'd found our entertainment team.  When we met with James to discuss the options for our night we were excited to learn we could also add on a lighting package to make the event even more memorable. After talking through our wedding vision and the type of music we like we were paired with our DJ/MC team. This Is It hadn't been to our venue before so they met us there to make sure that our lighting plans could work with the layout. We consider ourselves to be very organized and when looking for vendors for our wedding we wanted to ensure that whomever we decided to go with was also very organized and detailed. Neither of us have attended many weddings so we were a little lost in the clouds with what to expect and what to look for when deciding on our reception's entertainment. After reading numerous reviews on how wonderfully detailed and organized Chris was, we thought we might have found a winner. After first meeting with Chris, we felt very at ease and relaxed as if we were just hanging out with a friend. Chris knows his music. Not just one genre either. He's a well-versed encyclopedia of all aspects of music. Chris was very receptive to our requests of the style of music we wanted to hear at our ceremony, the cocktail hour and the reception. While we both enjoy different types of music we were a little overwhelmed with which artists to go with and decided to trust Chris with the majority of the selections. We had a few "must play" songs which Chris made sure that we heard. Chris went above and beyond to ensure not only that we were happy but also to ensure that our guests were dancing and smiling the whole time. Our wedding had a few 90+ year olds and we were unsure if they would be able to get up and dance. However, Chris knew exactly what to play to bring them to the floor. Walkers and all, our grandparents were able to share the dance floor with us to create an unforgettable memory for our entire family. We also want to point out how punctual Chris is. We are very punctual people and we believe that if you're not early, you're late. Chris was always early. He always beat us to our meetings. We could go on and on for days about Chris' professionalism. I wanted to surprise my wife with a song that I wanted to play for her on acoustic guitar at the reception and Chris was not only happy to oblige, but was very excited to make it happen. We spoke on the phone over the weeks leading up to our big day. Chris walked me through the process of what equipment he was going to use and how he would introduce me to the reception. Chris was also accompanied by another DJ named Joe who was equally professional and kind. We met Joe the day of the reception and it felt like we knew him for many years. We were both completely at ease with our decision and had no worries about anything. We felt comfortable and relaxed and a big part of that was because he made sure everyone got to the dance floor, if even for just a few moments. Chris always greeted us with a warm smile and helped us create a timeline that coincided with our venue to make sure everything flowed properly. He wanted to save us from as much stress possible and requested the contact information of all of our vendors so he could speak directly with the venue about the schedule for the day-of timelines, the videographers about microphones, officiant about speeches and introductions, etc. We cannot express how grateful we were to not have to be the middleman and just provide Chris with names and phone numbers and wait for his "everyone's on the same page" email! Our venue expressed how easy and flawless it was working with Chris and that some other DJs cause them headaches. Chris seemed to make the day go easy and smoothly for everyone involved. We also went with a Photobooth through Futurescapes Entertainment and Chris was able to use our wedding template which was created specifically for our wedding. This ensured everything was cohesive throughout our entire wedding. If you're looking for a DJ who knows his craft, understands the business and is eager to please then Futurescapes Entertainment is hands down the best choice you can make. This band performed hits from the 80s, 90s, 2000s, and now. If I was to summarize this type of playlist the band was performing, I would say "Hot Adult Contemporary". As soon as the attendees rolled into the event tent, the band started rocking away. They played a mixture of rock and pop hits throughout the entire event duration. That gave everyone the chance to view, listen, and even sing a long to their performances. What a way to bring great people together, Ed Z! The band was rocking so loud that we could even hear them outside when my friends and I went to the pumpkin patch and house to snap some photos. The original plan was for them to perform outside. But because of the rain, they had to perform inside. This weather-related change didn't hurt their spirit at all. In fact, they performed without even caring about the rain. This band no doubt has an edge over some of the other bands whom I encountered on my previous 25th cruise, which is based on their performance qualities and professionalism. Based on how they performed, it was quite easy for me to see and hear why they are always booked and only have a very limited amount of time for public events. For this case, the General Yelp Event was a private one. Overall, this is an excellent cover band, and probably the best one that I have ever heard. If you can catch them at a public event, then I recommend doing so. I also recommend booking them if you can.
