I arrived a little later in the afternoon as I know that parking lot can be crazy with all the Mamakats business. I'm glad I did because there was plenty of parking. I walked into the big open space and was warmly welcomed by the staff. They have been open since March. The menu had a lot of choices, I was tempted to try the dalgona cloud (coffee) but it was too late in the day. I asked them for their recommendations and the mango ice was what was suggested. I went with that. I wandered around whilst waiting and took pictures. My drink was brought to me with a smile. The plastic seal was still warm. I shook it lightly and popped the boba straw in. It was so good and really refreshing. I love mango and it was perfect, not too sweet and blended cheese made it creamy. It was the perfect blend! They said they were hoping more Elites would be visiting the first day. I assured them there would probably be more towards the end of the week. The vibes are vibin' at BoBaPoP! Came early on Wednesday to a beautiful minimal space. The Weeknd bumping, fresh tea brewing... just a relaxing and clean space. So excited to see a tea shop open up right along the 78 fwy. Once I stepped inside I felt that relaxing ambiance where I can sit down and enjoy some delicious tea. Unfortunately, I was on the way back home so I took a couple items to go. The Matcha Latte was superb. Although I chose to have zero sugar, the rich matcha flavor along with the milk smoothed out the flavor where I didn't feel to the need to sweeten it. I do enjoy matcha tea by itself so if you're not into that then definitely sweeten it up a bit. The BobaPop Milk Tea was also really tasty and it didnt taste like those sugary powdered milk tea drinks that you get from some other local milk tea shops. There is enough table space to place your laptop to work and electrical outlets to charge devices. I am so excited that Bobapop Tea Bar has finally made its way to the West Coast -- and right here in San Marcos! This place took over the previous mom/pop boba place in the MamaKats plaza. I love the open / clean / minimalist vibes! There is bench seating to the left with two cafe tables and a community table to the right. For the Yelp Elite offer, you get one large drink of your choice. My go-to lately for boba has been Oolong milk tea so I had to try it! I saw they had mini boba so had to get that, too. The tea flavor isn't too strong, and subtle at 0%. There are other tea options if you don't like milk tea. I love that they have the tea canisters on the counter, it helps so you can smell the tea! But this is my first time actually trying something! Right off the bat, I want to take a moment to highlight the interior design of this space. It's gorgeous! Yes, it's a bit simple/minimal, but this is so aesthetic. I genuinely love designs like this. Plus, there are outlets under the table, and there's a giant table for larger groups. The seating is a bit limited, but it wasn't very crowded when I went, so that wasn't a problem at all. I can definitely see myself coming back for the immaculate study vibes here. Kenny kindly took my order at the counter; I got the Mango Cloud with white crystals. What a unique drink! My order came out pretty quickly, too. I was so excited to try it that I almost forgot to take a photo before my first sip. And once I did take that first sip, I was pleasantly satisfied. The fruit was so incredibly fresh that it tasted like drinking a straight-up mango. I also enjoyed the white crystals, which I've never gotten before. These are just agar pearls. And as someone who is not crazy about tapioca pearls, these were a great alternative! Parking was super easy, and this location is pretty convenient for those in San Marcos. Bobapop Tea has been open for only 7 weeks, I'm thrilled that they are in this shopping center next to Mama Kat's restaurant in San Marcos. Very friendly and comfortable feel as I sit here sipping on my yummy Bobapop Milk Tea. I appreciate that you can adjust the sweetness of your drink 100% 50% or 30%. I went with 30% this time. I've been obsessed with BoBaPoP Tea Bar for years! I was so excited for this event as it meant a new location was now SO much closer to me. I used to drive 3+ hours to go to one of their locations in LA. As soon as I came in I knew I was going to go for their personal boba milk tea, but I did think about trying something new. Since I hadn't been in so long, my old favorite drink ended up winning me over and I'm so glad it did. Their BobaPOP milk tea is just the best. I typically get my sweetness levels at 50% and this was still perfectly sweet. Honestly I couldn't be happier with my experience here as the boba was fresh, and the baristas and team members were very kind and welcoming. It's really easy to park in the lot after the breakfast rush (when Mama Kat's closes). While they don't have a lot of decorations at this location, they do have a decent amount of seating. Parking has plenty of spots and had no problems parking anywhere. Upon entering, I was welcomed warmly into their shop and if any assistance was needed they'd be happy to help with any questions. They have a large seating area, while everything was clean and well taken care of. You have the choice of either ordering on a touchpad near the counter to the right or coming directly to the register ahead. I ordered a simple strawberry matcha drink as my complimentary drink. The drink was well balanced with the matcha and strawberry. One flavor didn't overpower the other. Flavoring was perfect, and the drink was refreshing. I arrived a few minutes before they were technically opened but the door was open and they happily and readily helped me with my order. They said they are known for their teas so I just went with their bobapop milk tea which comes with boba. It was honestly ok, to me it was a regular milk tea with boba. I did order it half sweet which I like that you can customize your drinks. I did the same with the passion fruit green tea which again tasted as it should. So it wasn't bad or negative. In hindsight, I wish I would tried their roasted oolong or even Japanese brown rice as I'm a fan of oolong and the Japanese brown rice is something different that I wouldn't have normally ordered or tried. The matcha oat latte sounds good too. I don't know if I would come for the drinks per se. However, I can see this as a cool spot to meet up with a friend to get a boba to catch up in a nice calm setting. Some boba shops are really bright colorful and loud. Had a great experience! Walked in and was immediately greeted. The staff was very friendly and answered all my questions. They ask if you want to modify the ice or sugar level of your drinks. Great texture, something I grew up having. The strawberry slush is made with fresh strawberry purée. It found the drink to be very delicious, and refreshing. I really wanted to get oolong or a dark tea but I came after work on the last day so I went with decaf winter melon salted cheese with boba and crystal boba. My coworker came a couple hours before me and she said they were out of boba so I was prepared to be disappointed but apparently they made more! Lucky me. I haven't had my go to order in so long so I was gonna be really sad to have to pass up boba when I already had to choose a decaf tea. With all the tea bars around, it's pretty hard to stand out. For me, what makes BobaPop special is the type of tea they offer. It's not just all the sugary stuff. They also offer Taiwanese teas like a-li-shan, and tie-guan-ying, on top of other teas. I'm not usually a bobo shop type of person cuz I don't eat much sugar. But knowing that they have nice clean teas, I will definitely be coming back. I do have to say that when I was there, they ran out of Boba.
