Mike of Creative Sheds was responsive throughout the process, revising the quote as I changed size, style, and features. More importantly, when Leroy came out for a site inspection, our discussion convinced me that with a bit of path clearance (scrub tree removal) they could pre-assemble and deliver the shed. Which cut about 25% off the price. The shed was delivered yesterday, about a month after finalizing the deal. The delivery man (Keith) was quite expert at moving (with a "shed mule") the 10' x 12' shed the 200 feet from street to shed location. He was creative steering around tree branches (minimizing trimming). Best of all, he avoided a grape vine that was in the pathway. The shed is solidly built, using good SPF framing and solid plywood. Nice touches include magnetic door holds (keep door from closing in the wind), metal plate on front door ledge, and thermal barrier on roof underside. Highly recommended!

We were both impressed with the sheds available on the website and what we saw on Yelp, so we decided Five Star Sheds would be perfect for our own custom shed. The guys were great to work with throughout every step of the process. They came out a couple months before installation to check out the building area and go over our options. (Because everyone was still getting in their pandemic home improvements, their spring schedule filled up quickly.) When filing the permit with the county, we learned that our original plan for the shed wouldn't be possible due to the property line distance requirements, so we needed to have a somewhat unusual 4'x12' design. The guys had no problem with this request and even designed a special roof overhang for my husband's kayak. A few days before installation, they gave us a heads up when previous project was running longer than initially anticipated, so we were able to make sure we could push it back by another day. It was amazing how quickly they built our incredible shed! The crew arrived just after 7:30 and by 2:30 we had a completed custom build! I watched from the window a few times throughout the process and each time I couldn't believe how quickly everything was coming together. It was so sturdy that they were able to test the shelves by standing on them. There are so many beautiful finishing touches to the shed, like metal plating at the entryway and decorative hinges. The parts of the shed also include very generous warranties, so if we ever have issues with the materials, we can call to get it fixed. We were blown away when we did our final walkthrough. If you are looking for a custom shed in the area, I wouldn't hesitate to call Five Star Sheds. They definitely live up to their business name. Unfortunately had a very poor experience with Handyman Connection, and it's contractor. What was…read moresuppose to be a 1 day project turned into a 7 week disaster. The contractor they used had such a poor attitude the entire time, and made mistake after mistake and tried to take too many shortcuts that resulted in extremely poor quality of work that continually needed to be redone. The contractor kept talking about how poor the company was, and specifically used many vulgarities in describing the owner of the company as well. After attempting to deal with the owner, I can see where the contractor was coming from. Once the problems started, I attempted to contact the owner on multiple occasions. Was told they would always call me back - never did once, despite knowing there were problems. Then, when collecting payment after this nightmare project was over, the owner finally tried to talk to me right on the way out as the contractor was several hours late and wouldn't move their vehicle out of the way for me to leave. I told the owner I did not have time to talk to them at that moment, and then got a "grow up" email from the owner later that night (amazingly unprofessional), simply because I did not have time to *finally* talk to them at that exact moment after they *never* returned any of my messages over the last several weeks. On top of that, they tried to bill me for work that was part of the signed scope. Lesson learned - will never hire a company that simply outsources the work to independent contractors. Too risky, and quite frankly they don't care when things go wrong. They will say "Well I could've just left the job..." ... Again, crazy unprofessional. UPDATE TO OWNERS RESPONSE 11/15: It's quite sad that the owner of a company has to resort to absolutely ridiculous lies. There is no cat - the owner of the company actually made up a story about a cat to justify their job. Even their own two employees (independent contractors) who were the ones that did the work commented that they installed the wrong screen and had to tear it to get it to bend around the frame and they needed a different material. No one ever said anything about a cat. There was no "special order" that took 6 weeks to arrive - the contractors bought everything at the local hardware store. It's just a screen - nothing special. On top of that - the owner never once "personally contacted" me or anyone else. How sad of a human being do you have to be to make all these things up to cover up for a simply poor job by the contractors you hired? Oh, and 2 of the 3 contractors literally quit during the job, citing the owner's lack of professionalism and not paying them. That pretty much sums up the owner of this company.
