And they have tumbling class and open gym to get energy out for the little ones and for competitive kids as well. the gym is for kids ages 1-18 for everyone all the coaches are nice and helpful. It's a huge area full of gear to make any kid a tumbler. When I spoke to the owner she was more than helpful with information on the program and though I don't need it for myself, I appreciated how happy she was to share. The little ones love it there and my brother recommends this place to anyone in the area looking for a place to let their kids release a bunch of energy in an hour.

I highly recommend them for both recreational classes as well as upper level JO track rhythmic training. They take care to encourage athletes to care for their well being with opportunities for access to in-house occupational and physical therapy, classes with USAG national team staff and coaches, and they facilitate incredible experiences with world class and Olympic athletes to work on routines and skills.

I come here mainly on weekends, when my home Y closes way the heck too early (4pm vs 7pm here)…read more I'd say that about 70-80% of their equipment is fine. Lots of free weights and strength machines. The highlight is the huge, high-ceilinged (30-40ft?) functional fitness space that features a turf area, a sled, kettlebells, plyo boxes, plyo smash balls, a do-it-all calisthenics multi-station that includes weighted pulleys, dip and pullup and monkey bars, a free hanging real boxing bag (nice angled uppercut bag that's just the right weight to make you "dance" to avoid the swing back, yet forgiving enough that you can punch it without gloves without risking a broken wrist or bruised knuckles), a pair of Assault bikes and treadmills, a Concept rower, some meh Schwinn stationary bikes (more on that later), and two full squat cages with plenty of plates and barbells. So, what about the other 20-30%, you ask? Well, their cardio machines range from so-so to unusably lousy. All the treadmills are Precor, which are a clear step down from the Life Fitness TMs most Ys have: smaller uglier fuzzy screens with spotty internet connection that can freeze up in the middle of a workout, noisier and less stable platform. The stationary bikes are a mix of Precor (typical mediocre gym bike with crap ergonomics where you feel like you're on a creaky toy bike pedaling against some barbaric pad not magnetic resistance) and Espresso (video-gaming type bike clearly designed to seduce ADD teenagers or lazy af adults) and the horrible Schwinn bikes (just as bad as most home exercise bikes, you can understand why people mostly use them as clothes hangers). Please please please can you guys get at least a few KEISER bikes? We know you can have decent taste in cardio machines because you kept your CONCEPT rowers instead of choosing some oversized gym-brand rowers which look impressive but have similarly lousy ergonomics. Oh and they have non-mechanical Assault brand treadmills which nobody uses because they are brutal on the knees, too narrow and unstable. I don't know who was in charge of choosing the cardio equipment, but that person needs to be put to work cleaning the bathrooms or something more appropriate! The other major gripe I have is their sauna --- it's spacious and new and pretty, but who in the hell decided to have only ONE row of seating? Completely idiotic, folks: did you not pass seventh grade Life Science, where they teach you that heat RISES, and that's why all real saunas have TWO levels of seating, with the 2nd one being a good 4-5 feet off the ground so that you get the full benefit of the heat in the room? Here you have to STAND on the damned low benches if you want to get a decent sweat in ... the sauna thermometer reads 170F but if you're sitting down you'd be lucky to get 140-150F, which is useless. (The sauna of the Melrose YMCA has the same idiotic mistake.) So, while I'm grateful that this Y offers me decent hours to work out on weekends making the long drive out there worthwhile, their cardio machines selection and sauna design really really need a rethink.

Good to see that they offer life jackets, noodles, and other floaties. Staff hand out different colored necklaces to kids depending on their swimming level (red dotted = can't swim, red = can swim a bit but can't go to deep end, yellow = can swim to deep end). Overall ok until I saw a floating bandaid in the deep end and clump of hair on the deck. Family locker room is clean. They have soap if you want to rinse. Need to scan pass in order to enter (turnstyle like paying before entering the mbta train). That's good because other locations, everyone can enter without checking IDs or memberships. Machines can use an update. I didn't use but a family member said they are old.

She hadn't had this reaction with soccer, lacrosse or swimming so we're happy she's found a sport to love. The coaches couldn't be any nicer and Gary is priceless! He obviously cares about the families being happy and connected to what their kids are learning. All of the staff are so kind and if they don't know who our kids are (our boys love to come for vacation days!) they do a very professional job of faking it. (And I mean that in a good way.) On vacation days when all three of our kids attend it's like walking into Cheers. And then there are the parents. Such a nice group! Everyone is friendly, no one is stuck up and it's obvious that everyone just wants their kid to have fun. Last year there was a group of children with special needs and Gary and the team took such great care of them. Everyone left smiling and it was lovely to see that every child in the gym is treated with the same care and respect. We look forward to many more years with PG and are so thankful for their dedication to our daughter's growing love of the sport and our feeling part of a community that really cares about kids.

I emailed, expecting them to be understanding since I've been a loyal customer for 4 years since my daughter first started gymnastics. Instead they told me they are unable to make any exceptions, despite the fact that the class session hasn't even started yet and the class is full. Any other business offering toddler classes that we've attended would have been understanding. I also would not recommend planet gymnastics for the coaching, we will be switching gyms!

I'm new to Crossfit, and the trainers worked with me to quickly establish my fitness level and really pushed me when I needed it...but they also offer Boxing and "well-fit" personal training... I tried a boxing class, and was completely blown away... I got a fantastic full body workout, and left feeling stronger and faster..The instructor Todd was incredible...Im trying their Well-fit class next, and hear it really gives you a good run for your money... The staff is really friendly and for parents out there - they have childcare available... Definitely give this place a shot.. You'll be instantly hooked :)

I was (am) new to CrossFit but all the coaches and staff have been welcoming and understanding, taking their time to explain the proper technique and making sure I felt comfortable. Group classes is they way to go if you want to get real results, and there is no better place for that than CrossFit Marauder. In addition to CrossFit, they offer other types of group classes, boxing and even yoga. They offer many time slots, so you will likely find one that works for you. It really is the best place to get into and stay in shape in the area.
