The staff here is a breath of fresh air! Always pleasant and never arrogant even when I've given them reason to be; that says a lot.

Life Time Fitness: Corporate Marketing vs. Your Health…read more Life Time Fitness claims to be a leader in wellness, boasting a commitment to "transparency, accountability, and the simple ethos of doing the right thing." This is marketing, not reality. While the gym is generally clean and offers a good variety of classes, management continues to prioritize synthetic fragrance diffusion over member health, safety, and comfort. These are not minor oversights; they are active, systemic choices that management has had every chance to resolve but has chosen to ignore. Management Runaround in the Barre Studio Inadequate Ventilation: Despite repeated emails to management, the studio remains stuffy. The ventilation system has functioned properly only once this year, on May 27th; on all other days, it kicks in 15 minutes before the end of class, proving staff have the capability to ventilate properly but choose not to. Chemical Exposure: The club pumps synthetic chemicals into this closed, high-exertion space via a ScentBridge system. There is no health justification for this product, and management has repeatedly refused to provide a logical explanation for its use in a confined exercise space with poor cooling and ventilation. The Safety Contradiction: Management claims the scent is "100 percent safe," yet the manufacturer's own Safety Data Sheet (SDS) contradicts this, warning of potential adverse effects and explicitly directing individuals to avoid breathing the vapors. Stonewalling: I have sent numerous emails to the general manager requesting a rationale for their practice of diffusing chemicals that pollute the air. She has refused to provide written answers, declined to provide executive contact information, and ignored all requests for transparency. Club Environment & Sales Tactics Predatory Upselling: My complimentary training session was a bait-and-switch. Despite my explicit boundary, clearly stated to the trainer before signing up, that I only wanted the one session and a list of exercises to follow on my own, he withheld the list at the end of the session after I declined to sign up for more, illustrating that members are viewed as sales leads, and sales are prioritized over member satisfaction and respect. Intrusive PA System: It is crass to have PA announcements interrupting workouts and classes to upsell gym services and products. These sales pitches are annoying and treat members as a captive audience for advertisements. Garage Bottleneck: The 5-story garage is a poorly designed bottleneck where valet occupies the first three floors, forcing members to circle lower levels despite empty, coned-off spaces. Furthermore, the narrow lanes and spots risk vehicle damage. Hearing Safety: Music in multiple classes is set to near-painful decibels. Instructors actively refuse requests to lower the volume, forcing members to wear earplugs to protect their hearing. The Bottom Line: Life Time Fitness is a high-priced facility that creates a facade of "wellness" while ignoring basic safety and comfort, hearing health, and customer service. These issues are cultural and systemic; the club prioritizes corporate branding and sales over fresh, unpolluted air. My requests for transparency remain ignored, and the chemical exposure and inadequate ventilation in the Barre studio continue unabated, turning what should be a premium experience into an exercise in frustration.

I'm really thankful this studio is around because it offers a really convenient Sunday morning…read moreclass for me. It's not my home studio but I appreciate the ability to take a strength class when my studio doesn't have one on the schedule. It's a bit of a drive for me, so I've only been maybe 10 or 12 times over the past year or so. The studio is on the smaller side and I have a friend who doesn't like it because she feels it's "dirty." I normally don't agree (though it is dark and on the smaller side, there are no mirrors in front of the weight stations because they are at windows, and the floor mats are pretty worn and old), but last weekend I did find a bunch of food gunk near my floor station. It looked like apple pie filling or something. I wiped it up but ... was kinda yucky. In general, I find the coaches to be fine and the front desk to be very nice. They were super helpful when I left a hat behind and came back a few days later to get it. Also the shower and restroom facilities are clean and spacious. Don't love that the water fountain station is in the lobby, but they can't really change the studio design. I don't find coaches to be super motivating or focused on sharing technical feedback, but I've also only taken strength or tread 50 classes, which I've heard coaches say are challenging to lead because there isn't as much to say. They also seem to run a lot of studio-specific promos/contests, like offering incentives for pre-booking classes and having raffles, which I think is a great way to keep up studio engagement and utilization. Street parking (free) has always been easy for me -- a big plus.

The free weights and dumbbells were great, and the cable and cardio equipment were well maintained and mostly new. If you're coming for a basic, self-guided workout, this gym will easily scratch that itch. The space itself has some issues, especially the men's locker room. The bathrooms are not in good shape at all, and the locker room overall is musky and mildewy. Not great for a gym locker room. The main floor also isn't the most well ventilated. It's cavernous, but smell still travels quickly when you get the inevitable gym goer who struggles with basic hygiene. You'll smell 'em for your entire workout, unfortunately. Come for good workouts, don't expect top notch amenities or the most olfactory-friendly space!

The gym has gotten increasingly overcrowded after dumping 2 million to renovate the gym. Meanwhile auxiliary parking is going away in April to make an already terrible parking situation worse! On top of all that they are hosting an open house on a Monday of all days while again, making it physically harder to go to the gym and if you're lucky enough to get inside, actually use any equipment without spending 2.5 hours there. UPDATE: Have now taken a few more classes. Some further mulling:…read more 1. I missed the memo that you don't have to switch between rounds. Obviously most people do but you have the option of doing all 4 rounds of floor or all 4 rounds of treadmill. I was majorly confused when not everyone made the switch but apparently you can just stay at the same station the whole time. But anyway, you have the option of booking a Double Floor option if you don't want to do the treadmill. 2. There is a *vibe* here and frankly, it gets on my nerves. Not enough for me to stop going altogether but it is a huge pet peeve to see people on their phones during a round (not even during a break) and taking selfies/scrolling Instagram. You may say, "Joy, be a big girl and just ignore them." You'd be right but it is a) hugely distracting and b) disrespectful to the instructor. I get it, we're all addicted to our phones, but there's a diff between quickly checking your phone for an email versus being on IG for minutes at a time. 3. I do think some of the instructors could demo the moves more, rather than punt it to a random person and say, "Everyone, look at [NAME] and see what she does!" As it was, the transitions are so quick, I again copied what everyone was doing around me or ... just did my own thing. Which brings me to my next point. 4. A lot of the moves don't necessarily need to be done with the equipment that the instructors mention. In one of the classes, we did bicep curls with a band. I found it needlessly confusing and time-consuming to set up, so just did the same thing with a weight. Don't be afraid/too self-conscious to modify. 5. So far, my favorite instructor has been Harley, who teaches the Arms & Abs class on Monday evenings. His cues are super clear, he'll do the moves with the class, and he's very encouraging and kind. Great for beginners and regulars alike.

Because of this, my expectations were high and figured it would be similar to Orange Theory but better. I would like to preface that I honestly loathe running long distance though I will still do it to challenge myself. I had no idea what I was walking into other than the fact that there would be lots of running and that the classes alternate between treadmill running and floor exercises. The instructor was nice, however, most of the class I had a hard time understanding her due to the loud music and her voice just didn't sound clear with her mic. As others in the reviews have stated, they don't really walk you through the steps and really what's next. For treadmill run, jogging was done 5/6/7 and sprinting 7/8/9. At first, I have to admit I felt super intimidated because running is not my strong suit at all... but to my surprise, I held my own pretty well & it wasn't too bad. From this class experience, I do feel a little disappointed. I did not feel like the class was actually as challenging as I thought it would be or even how it's perceived on social media platforms. After class, I felt I could still go to another HIIT class, compared to when I had tried OrangeTheory once upon a time ago, my entire body was sore. The music playing during the working out was also not the best quality. I could barely hear the songs not due to the volume but because the speakers made the music sound muffled. Overall experience: 6.5/10
