Other than for the purposes of getting keys duplicated or having locks similarly keyed, going to a…read morelocksmith can be quite dreadful, albeit necessary. That is because, as most of us know, going to a locksmith can be quite costly. It is that way, I believe, because locksmithing is a profession that requires specialized training, licensure, and insurance. This past week I had a need to have a duplicate "smart key" fob programmed to my recently purchased new, used vehicle that came with only one fob. Against my better judgment and with the hope of saving some money, I purchased a "ready to be programmed" fob off of a popular auction website. The fob itself was noticeably lighter than the OEM fob and was considerably cheaper; like $175 cheaper. Anyhoo, I took my Chinese-made, reverse-engineered fob to Advanced Locksmith to have it programmed. Before going, I called a received a quote from Gage one of the shop's technicians. Upon my arrival, Gage promptly went to work! While in the process of attempting the programming, and after the programming failed, Gage involved another technician, Nebiat. As the efforts to program my fob met with additional failed attempts, Nebiat and Gage explained one of the pitfalls with purchasing fobs over non-OEM websites is, that sometimes the fobs are locked from being previously programmed and therefore not usable. Much to my dismay, I believed my fob to be just such a fob. With that, Nebiat offered a new fob purchase from Advanced Locksmith. One that Nebiat assured me would accept the programming. Of course, purchasing this new fob would be expensive and I was not looking forward to having to pay so much money on such short notice. Nebiat was very understanding and was kind enough to offer the fob at a discount, for my being a veteran of the armed forces. I was prepared to purchase the new fob when Nebiat offered to try the programming of my Chinese-made fob once more. As he attempted the programming, he recognized the problem to be with my truck having already programmed into its memory, the maximum number of fobs. Nebiat was then able to clear the computer's memory of programmed fobs and successfully program my cheaper fob! Yaaay!!! I was elated and grateful for Nebiat's willingness to go the extra mile and put customer service over profit. Thank you Nebiat and thank you Nebiat and Gage for giving me a great customer experience to share on this platform with my fellow Yelp*ers!! We had been dealing with the recovery of an abandoned car after a mental health crisis, and it took nearly 10 hours for the family to even get to the point of retrieving it. By the time we arrived at the impound, we had already faced rudeness and obstacles from Dave's Hi Way Towing, and we were exhausted. On top of everything, the car battery had died, and we thought we'd be stuck even longer especially when the employee at Dave's Hi Way said he would not jump the car after he watched the family sit for over 8 hours just to get a duplicate key made. Ana was a godsend. She stepped in with such compassion and made sure we got the help we needed. After spending 90 minutes creating and programming a new key, she stayed longer to help us jump the car. She refused to accept a tip for what truly felt like a life-saving act of kindness as the family had waited over an entire full day at the towing company to get assistance. Her prices were very reasonable. Ana had no idea that a mother had flown in from across country the night before to help her daughter through a mental health crisis, that friends had been pulled into this long ordeal, and that we had already spent hours upon hours trying to bring resolution to a very painful incident. By the grace of God, with Ana's help, we were finally able to get the car out and drive it home. I am forever grateful for her patience, her heart, and her professionalism. In a world where so many people treat others with indifference, Ana showed compassion and grace when it mattered most.
