Not knowing if my son would even like the classes, I was a bit hesitant to take it on (it's not cheap). Students go 2-3 times a week which, at this age (my son is 4.5), feels like a lot and limits him from trying other things. But, they had a one-month trial that felt reasonable and he ended up LOVING his classes (we added a 3-month membership on in hopes he will continue to stick with it). I do wish there was a once a week class option (at half the price), but this seems to be standard practice, so we're giving it a shot. As for the instructors, they are absolutely amazing with the kids. You can tell they are genuinely having fun. They have fair/reasonable expectations for the students in terms of focus and participation, but they are firm and make clear what is expected. There are almost as many girls as boys in the classes and they encourage everyone equally. They know how to change the class up and make it fun. I feel my son is in a good place based on his enthusiasm and reactions during class. Each class has a similar structure, but different practices and my kid is really enjoying them. I use his belt promotion checklist to my advantage! I was concerned with the MMA connection that the class would be ran by a bunch of meat heads teaching kids to fight, but it's nothing like that...very friendly, positive environment that I am happy to continue exploring.

The exercise is tremendous and I'm getting into better shape then when I was 20 years old. He teaches in a meticulous, stepwise manner, where you further perfect a skill appropriate to your belt level in every class. Classes are never boring or repetitive as he knows a tremendous variety of exercises and stretches. With my kids, he creates a perfect environment of affection and fun, but with discipline and respect. With master Lim you will learn a historic martial art from a true master. After a few classes my confidence grew . I decided part of my bucket list was to get my black belt . A year and half ago I relocated to New Jersey and ask my grandmaster kim for recommendation of the best schools in the area. He called black belt world for me and spoke with master kim . Two years later I'm testing for my bodan belt - black and red - which will be preparing for the next year and half on testing for my black belt . This school is incredible . I'm in awe of the skills , hard work , dedication and tender patience each instructor exudes. They meet their students where they are at - individually- understanding each students unique needs and skills . Enhancing on those skills , they teach kindness, patience , self awareness and it's a killer work out . I've lost 15lbs since starting - their constructive critical lessons take their students into advancing quickly - when I first started i had NO flexibility NON I'm still lil rusty however it's incredible feeling when you can see the difference and feel the progress yourself . I'm amazed at what I can do . I used to compare , however when I compare my self to the beginning I'm truly astonished . Never thought I'd be able to do some of the things I've done this far - can't imagine what I'll look like in three years - " I swear it by the old gods and the new " , I plan on training til I'm a hundred - if the gods will. The kids have learned life skills such as self-discipline, focus, and positive socialization. They have built tremendous physical and mental strength. The instructors at Master Nick's karate have instilled so much confidence and self-respect in the kids. Master Nick himself is wonderful, and he pays attention to each individual kid's needs. And the best thing is, the kids get a great workout! The schedule is also very flexible, you are required to attend 2 classes per week, and classes are available Monday-Saturday evenings. I cant believe how this place has changed my life. I love the new me. In April I started my 5 year old daughter in boxing class & she LOVED it. She can't wait to start her class again in September.
