Beware!! This is school is all about the money and not about the student. We were told by coach…read moreMichael that we can cancel anytime before the end of a month and that why we pay a month in advance. 2 years later, my daughter wants to stop due to school workload, so we canceled on the 20th of September and was paid through October 5th. The school wants to bill you for an additional 3 months. In speaking with Isameal when canceling, I was told I would receive a call that night regarding the matter. That call never happened. I was also told Sensi Bondi would call on Tuesday, and that also never happened. Then weeks later, I received a text from the billing, stating that I owe them. In calling them, they advised that I owe them 2 months and I should contact the school of the dispute. When I called the school today, I was told by Isameal that I owe 1 month. I explained again what Coach Michael explained when we signed up and questioned how why the billing says 2 months and you claim 1 but were not notifiedoof any of this. Isameal promised that we would get a call back by Renshi today, but that never happened. He did call back and is now trying to get 1 month out of us. He said we should get a call later today from a Danielle. We again asked for a call from Renshi or Sensi Bondi by this Friday 11th. Stay tuned as I will update on whether we get that call from Danille or on the 11th.

You move up based on YOUR performance, attendance and testing. The staff here is attentive and they make class fun with discipline and structure. They are giving the students life lessons needed in this day and age. My other son will join Satori soon and we can't wait. At Satori they care about the students and I as a parents appreciate that.

So here's my story: I was a member of Retro Fitness and unfortunately, still am because the powers…read morethat be in management told me that since I paid for the year, they can't refund me. Do I go to retro anymore? Heck no. Why? Because once you step into the UFC gym, when you go back to Retro or Crunch, or Blink, and you say to yourself: What kind of 1 dimensional crap is this? From the moment you walk in there, the staff at the front desk, the managers, coaches, and even the gym members are really cool. They greet you even though they don't know you(be social and get to know them then). The place is kept sharp. I mean off the hook sharp. No matter what plan you go with, take advantage of every opportunity time permits to go because the place doesn't close! Yeah, you heard me right. Take classes. Whether you want to learn martial arts or just keep fit, push and test yourself. Try any class Everyone treats the place like family and there's a great aura. It's not a musclehead jock type ego filled gym. One word of caution: DO NOT LET THE WORD GYM FOOL YOU. UFC Gym is much more than that. It's your membership. Make the best of it. As for me, I've never felt more alive taking classes and meeting my fitness goals. 223 now and will be 200 and under by the end of the year. Don't ever want to leave either. GO FOR IT! TRAIN DIFFERENTLY!

As nice as this gym should and could be, it is unfortunately far from it…read more Yes, it's a large facility with a ton of equipment, but the cleanliness is honestly some of the worst I've encountered at a gym anywhere in the country. The bathroom floors, equipment areas, and mats8 ( you will gag when you smell the main boxing ring mat) are consistently filthy and genuinely unpleasant. For a facility of this size, there is really no excuse for the lack of basic cleanliness and maintenance. Another major issue is the overall professionalism and management culture. Management often comes across as extremely pretentious and unnecessarily rude toward customers. There also seems to be a very strange lack of professionalism among both management and some employees. I've personally witnessed management becoming involved with customers in ways that would be inappropriate in most professional workplaces. There is also a constant atmosphere of employees gossiping about one another and about customers, including who is involved with whom and various personal situations. It creates a very immature, high-school-like environment rather than the atmosphere you would expect from a professionally run business. And perhaps most surprisingly, the water fountains aren't even consistently working. For a gym, where people are exercising and need access to water, that should be one of the most basic things to maintain. This place has a lot of potential. The size, equipment selection, and overall facility could make it an excellent gym. Unfortunately, the cleanliness, maintenance, and lack of professionalism make the experience far below what it should be. UFC should take back their franchise from these owners, utter disgrace!

It took me a little while to fully appreciate what's going here at the East Brunswick Tiger…read moreSchulmann's. I send my 5-year old son here and he has really gotten into it. As a parent who cares deeply about my son's maturity and his need to learn discipline, respect, honor, self-control, and self-protection, I was wary about putting him into a program like this. I mean, I'm his father. *I* should be teaching him these things. But Tiger Schulmann's -- in particular, *this* Tiger Schulmann's -- has proven to me that they can provide all of these things in ways that differ from what I can provide my boy. This place is no-nonsense. The instructors are no-nonsense. And while the instructors here certainly have a lot of patience, especially for children this young, they do not necessarily go easy on them. From the moment you sign up, you as the parent are asked to enter a commitment: a commitment that your child will themselves make a commitment; a commitment to the program; to having "a non-quitting spirit." I will admit I was skeptical at first. I see these karate and MMA places popping up all over the place. But in the last few months I have seen my boy develop in ways I would have struggled to develop him myself. My son doesn't have the same emotional bonds to the instructors here as he has to me, nor do they have to him. This is a real business -- the business of taking boys like my son, and helping them learn to be a man. It's not about the actual physicality of what they teach -- though that is absolutely essential to what they learn. What my son is really benefiting from is the discipline that they teach. (And I should point out that there are a lot of girls in his class, too - Tiger Schulmann's is not just for boys!) We recently held my son's birthday party here, and it was an astounding success. The parents were so thrilled that their kids were at a birthday party that encourages physical exercise, listening, and following directions. Yet there were a handful of children who were woefully unprepared for the experience -- breaking down into tears, running around like maniacs, and just showing a complete incapacity to follow even the simplest of instructions. And there stood my son. Standing proudly with his instructor. Following every instruction. Demonstrating every move. Being the example I have always hoped he would be. And he's just 5. In all honesty, I truly appreciate what Sensei Katz and Joshu Haze are doing for my son. This is an important time in his life, and I feel very good about him being in their hands. I really feel is he is growing as a young man and that this is an investment that will continue to pay off in the critical years ahead.
