Still having the same problems for 2-3 years since I first came to them. They don't care to fix them and are uninterested.

I began struggling with severe jaw pain at a young…read moreage, and after years of appointments, treatments, specialists, and uncertainty, I eventually faced the difficult decision to undergo major jaw surgery. I intentionally waited several years after completing treatment before writing this review because, in my experience, the true test of any dental or orthodontic treatment is how you feel years later. I can now say without hesitation that choosing Dr. Katie Klein was one of the best medical decisions I have ever made. I saw Dr. Klein for approximately three years while preparing for, undergoing, and recovering from a major jaw surgery that required extensive orthodontic treatment. Throughout that entire process, she was the most professional, knowledgeable, compassionate, and dependable dental professional I have ever worked with, and I have worked with many. Dr. Klein did far more than simply manage my orthodontic treatment. She helped me navigate an incredibly complicated surgical process, often providing more clarity, reassurance, and practical guidance than the surgeons themselves. She consistently took the time to answer my questions, explain what was happening, and make sure I felt comfortable with every stage of treatment. More importantly, she helped me stay positive during one of the most difficult medical experiences of my life. There were moments when the process felt overwhelming, and Dr. Klein's kindness, confidence, patience, and genuine concern made an enormous difference. I always felt that she cared about me as a person, not simply as a patient. Several years later, the results have held up beautifully, and I remain incredibly grateful for everything she did for me. I cannot recommend Dr. Klein highly enough. Whether you are a parent looking for an orthodontist for your child or an adult struggling with the difficult decision to begin orthodontic treatment later in life, you will not find someone more skilled, thoughtful, trustworthy, or supportive. Dr. Klein is truly exceptional at what she does, and I will always be thankful that she was the person who guided me through this journey.

Overall our experience…read morewas good, the place is very clean, staff are friendly and what we appreciated the most is the convenience service if offers from adult to pediatrics dental practices. They even extended the operation hour to later evening to accomodate people who work during the day . But I have noticed the billing and charging of our insurance seems always been a hiccup. Many years we have been receiving medical billing statement mailed to us with amount we don't think is correct, after making phone calls to their billing office, we were told it's just an estimate cost not final charge, so I was always confused why they have to send the statement to us at the first place, not only it's time consuming but also caused confusion to patients. Recently I have to order night guard , I checked with the dentist and was told it will be cover up to 75 % percent by insurance. Upon receiving the product, I went to make the payment at front end receptionist without thorough checking I was asked to pay a lot higher than what I was told. I asked the receptionist to double check, within few seconds she confirmed I was right and charge me less, I was shocked and confused about the process of charging patients there, shouldn't more cautious be exercised like my case? what if I forget or didn't remind her to double checked then I will end up overpaying. So thinking I should get this message across and hopefully see the improvement in this area from now on! Thanks for taking time to read this long review!

He kept explaining to me why he could not share information with me about my son due to their "protocol". I offered to pay for an appointment and his time. I shared that I did not feel comfortable even moving forward with the braces until I knew what the issues were. He shared that he had already told me 3 years ago. I said that if he taught me, I did not learn and I needed more information. He then proceeded to school me on going to specialists as though I did not know. It was incredibly ridiculous. When I said that I was leaving and that as a black woman, this always happens. People think that you are not smart enough to understand. He said, oh, if you are going to say things like that, I cannot work with you! I said that was perfectly fine by me. I have no desire to work with someone who could care less if his patients actually understand their condition.

For a business to not be able to pick up their phone is ridiculous to me and then say I have to be rescheduled after spending 20 minutes walking up and down the area. That I'm not from ! Just crazy !

I came here because my daughters hygienist left the other practice I went to, so I thought I could…read moretrust west Roxbury smiles pediatric dentistry. But This dental office is horrible. I really don't appreciate that when I get my child's teeth cleaned that only a dental assistant does the cleaning procedure and within 5 minutes she's finished. She barely counted the teeth. She took two bite wing x-rays that came out rather dark for my liking. I couldn't see every tooth surface in those 2 X-rays well, so was unable to fully read it. She didn't floss every tooth. She complained that my daughters teeth are too tight to floss. She didn't scale the teeth with the dental instruments to take away any plaque or calculus. She didn't use a mouth mirror or explorer to check any teeth. She didn't have enough Prophy paste application in the prophylaxis instrument to thoroughly brush her teeth. Once it was gone she didn't apply anymore so that to me it's like brushing with no paste. My daughter couldn't rinse out after the prophy paste cleaning with water or mouthwash. She said spit in a bib. I don't call that a thorough cleaning. I learned dentistry and worked there in tufts university of pediatric dentistry and I worked in two private offices also for many years. and I've assisted the dentist with every possible dental procedure in every dental specialty. I'm very particular in how I do everything. I've never cleaned the teeth by myself alone/unsupervised. A dental hygienist did that. I assisted the dentist with everything as a team. A good cleaning for a child is up to 30 minutes not 5 minutes. The dentists should think through how they set up their office and how they perform the dental procedures more carefully. It upsets me that the assistant has to do everything by herself. She might as well be a dentist. She's a underpayed hygienist in my opinion. It infuriates me to know you let them clean the children's teeth in five minutes and think the job is finished well. That to me is called brushing their teeth only. What made me more upset is when the dentist dr tarifard came she used the explorer a little said it looks clean anyway but let me check the X-ray just in case, then put fluoride and says drink water after the fluoride. I've never heard of this. You rinse your mouth after the cleaning then when you are done rinsing you put the fluoride on and keep it there. That's my preferable way of doing it. The time there was a waste of our time. The dentist says She can eat now and then says don't brush her teeth tonight. The dentist and assistant knew I'm a dental assistant and they asked do you assist now I said I did since I'm 14 years old in high school and I'm 32 now and when I had my daughter I chose to stay home and take care of her fully and their response is oh now you take care of one child now not many children like us. Good job mommy keeping her teeth good. I was so irritated I will never bring my daughter back there again. I will take her to a well educated hospital. Not a half job private practice. Do a better job for people! A dental assistant job is to assist the dentist not be a pretend hygienist or dentist! I only gave one star to the receptionist for being kind to us. She is pleasant. I specifically asked the assistant why are you cleaning the teeth by yourself and she says because the way I am with them is good. I would never understand that. You don't have the title to do the cleaning procedure by yourself. That's called a dental hygienist. Call me old fashioned. But that's the way I was taught. I might as well do the cleaning myself at home if that's the case. That's really a no no. A hygienist has to do it. In my opinion, A dental assistant can do everything possible by helping/assisting the dentist with everything, not doing the whole cleaning procedure unsupervised or just cleaning the operatory and suction the mouth and poke at teeth. That's doing nothing. Five minutes is not a dental procedure. Before I came to west roxbury smiles, I researched that The dentist dr tarifard did the three year program in tufts pediatric dentistry department. So I thought oh she's like me. They will be good dentist then. but sadly I found out she still doesn't do the procedures as they taught her. She makes the assistant do it. It's poke a little look then say everything is clean. I was in tufts pediatric also for many more years than that. They do step by step thoroughly. I didn't show anger because my daughter was with me but I am very upset with west Roxbury smiles in the way they do things. I know A nice hospital hygienist will do the procedures much better than this office did.
