This orthodontist was horrible, and people who once provided bad medical/dental treatment, do not just change. I dreaded as a kid going to the dentist and was traumatized, still to this day, by my painful experiences and Dr. Gassemi's extremely poor bedside manner. I remember getting teeth pulled out very painfully and going in for years without not even a wire on my braces. They were just charging the insurance- mass health at that time, for doing nothing. After about 6 years of going there for "traditional braces" they finally came off and he didn't want to give me a retainer. Very rudely told me I didn't need one!! I insisted and only received one for my top teeth- he wouldn't give me one for the bottom teeth and they went back to their crooked state. Interesting he remains in the city- Roxbury. I can only assume why. Parents make sure you're going in with your kids, even teenagers, and demand good dental treatment. Make sure you understand what they're doing. My mom didn't speak English, and wouldn't go with us siblings to the dentist. Don't allow this to happen to your kids. I tell everyone I can about this experience. By the way, when I called Dr. Carr to explain that Dr. Gassemi didn't provide a retainer for my bottom teeth, he hung up on me!! I guess he didn't care after he was done charging Mass Health for the poor treatment. Dr. Carr for those that don't know, owned the practice, Dr. Carr and Associates near Mass Ave that is now headed by someone else, I believe.

The breakdown I was given prior to services rendered (and services provided at a separate location) was not reflected on the breakdown. So be aware, do not trust them. * Also, they have no manager and hasn't had one for months. Red flag. So any billing difficulties, is on your hands to resolve because they will not assist you. It's you against them at this point. Now, I will have to bring them to small cases court to continue this difficulty because front desk will not service you and there is no manager to even manage the place.
