Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this soccer academy due to the unprofessional and retaliatory…read morebehavior exhibited by the coach. My son was dedicated to the program and worked hard for the team, but after we decided to switch to another team for better opportunities, the coach's attitude toward him drastically changed. As parents, we met face-to-face with the coach to respectfully explain our reasons for switching teams, and at the time, he seemed to understand. However, a month later, instead of acting maturely and understanding that players may need different paths to grow, the coach's office retaliation began. What's troubling is that it seems my son is being punished not for his performance or commitment but because of a personal vendetta the coach holds against his new coach. It's completely unacceptable to take out personal grudges on a child, and it reflects very poorly on the values and professionalism of the academy. At one point, the coach even made an unnecessary negative comment about my son's hairstyle, which was entirely irrelevant to his abilities as a player. To make matters worse, the coach's aggressive and inappropriate behavior toward referees during a recent tournament caused the entire team to be disqualified from continuing to play. Rather than setting a positive example of sportsmanship, the coach's outbursts and attacks on the referees ended up punishing all the players who had worked hard to compete. The most egregious action, however, was when the coach went as far as to lie to the league, claiming that my son was still registered with his team in order to make him ineligible to play for the new team. This is deceitful and goes completely against the spirit of youth sports. Youth sports should be about fostering growth, teamwork, and sportsmanship -- not punishing a player for seeking better opportunities, making irrelevant comments about personal appearance, causing the whole team to suffer due to a coach's inability to control their temper, or engaging in dishonest tactics to sabotage a child's opportunities. I hope this academy reevaluates its approach to leadership, as this experience has left a very negative impression on us.

Today this 102 acre park is a hub of activity for the community. It is home to the Weston Community Center, the Weston Skate Park and the Weston YMCA Family Center with an aquatic center. Thousand of sports league members practice and play on the fields in the park which include 8 baseball / softball fields, 8 football / soccer fields, and 8 basketball courts. There are also 3 roller hockey rinks, 4 multi-purpose artificial turf courts, a skate park, shade covered playgrounds, 3 sand volleyball courts, pickle ball court, an event stage, 5 concession stands with restrooms, 3 picnic shelters with grills, an 8,000 feet exercise trail throughout the park, electric vehicle charging stations, and a bike fixit repair station. While this is primarily a sports park they made sure to include as many amenities as possible. Whether you are looking for action packed sports or quiet relaxation, the Regional Park has something for everyone. One last thing to keep in mind, dogs are not allowed in this park.

I've been here many times for different occasions. The first was for Weston World Fest and been back many times for pickleball and even a picnic. This regional park doesn't require any entrance fee on weekends, unlike others such as Miramar Regional. The park is overall super nice and has some of the cleanest park bathrooms I've ever seen. What else would you expect from Weston? If you're looking to play pickleball, the courts are nice and are separated by fences (a luxury you don't see too often) but they only have 4. It does get quite crowded but the community is courteous. You can also find pavilions and patches of open areas to have a picnic or a day outdoors!

Everyday for almost 5 years (it felt like more) I was on this field training with either my team (who I did not like) or by myself with my coach, Andres. My teams changed many times over these years. Looking back this field taught me so many really tough lessons about rejection. And even now it is hard for me to look back at these times fondly. I rate this field as a "good" because it made me who I am, but this was a rough 5 years. It makes me feel a bit sad now to look back because at this field, during these practices, playing in these games, I can remember my love for the game slowly fading away. Not to mention my relationship with my dad heavily revolved around soccer, so as my love for the game started to fade so did our relationship.
