Amazing!! This park is great. It has something for all ages- several different age zones for each of its playgrounds. It also includes in the center of the whole park a water zone which is great - particularly for younger kids. There are pavilions for rent, picnic tables throughout and benches throughout too. The only small downside is that parking is tight, so be mindful of that. We went on a packed Saturday, but even though it was very crowded, it never felt that way. Multiple guests also had picnic blankets set up in the shaded areas. Honestly, we will be back over and over! Oh! And it is free weekends and weekdays! read more

Came at 10 am to find the park in a lot of noise with leave blowers and grass cutters. Would like to remind the government that these activities need to be scheduled before the park open hours and not during the time when residents are here to enjoy. This is honestly probably my favorite park in plantation. If you don't know Plantation, there are a lot of parks. This park has three playgrounds that are well maintained. There is a baby play ground, a toddler play ground, and a kid playground. My favorite part though is they are completely covered. It gets hot, and therefore, when a playground is not covered, slides get extremely hot. Which can burn kids. They also have a good size splash pad right in the center of the park. read more

What a rad little park in the heart of one of my favorite neighborhoods in Plantation. I discovered this gem on Yelp, and seeing all the great photos and reviews made it an easy decision to visit with my kiddo. The woodland theme is a really nice touch, and it carries throughout the entire venue. I loved the entryway, complete with totems made of playful squirrels and a whimsical tree arch sign. The play structures all seem relatively new, and they have some for all ages, including an area called out for children 2-5 years old. They have concrete paths perfect for small bicycles and scooters, and lots of shady spots for picnics too. The splash pad is a really nice addition with the Florida heat, but unfortunately we were there during one of those rare cold snaps so we couldn't play. Safety seems to have been very well considered when designing this park, as each play structure sits on padded surfaces, and anything that may pose a hazard has been well fenced off. Whether a resident or a visitor, I highly suggest visiting this park. It's a whole lot of fun! read more

What a whimsical park! This play space is 2.5 acres of sheer childhood delight. The park's design came from the imagination of Planation Landscape Architect Jeffrey Siegel. Sadly he passed away before the park was completed but his legacy lives in the happy smiles of the children playing at the park. At the entrance to the park is a tree and squirrel sculpture designed by artist Davis Serrano who also designed the log benches in the park. Inside the park are three playground areas for different age groups. The forest theme is continued throughout the park with tree houses, grizzly bears, and tree swings. One of my favorite parks! This is the first park 3 of my 4 kids ever went to. We used to live In plantation and really miss it. They have such nice parks and it's central to everything. This park has so many options which fits our family perfectly. My kids are 11,6,4 and 2. This park offers a splash pad, a playground for infants, toddlers, and bug kids! They have a lot of swings throughout the park as well. There is so much shade and plenty of space to picnic! There are tennis courts adjacent to the park and a brand new rec center. The bathrooms are fairly clean for a park. The best part is that this park is nestled in the community. It is not easy to find. Typically only locals know about it. The library is across the street along with a historical home. The holidays are always a big deal as well. Always something happening in this area. Highly recommend. We still drive 30min just to come here! read more

This park is pretty cool! My kids loved the splash pad and they couldn't stay away from it. The playground is ok and they did like it; however, the splash pad won by a landslide. The shelters are open and there were definitely a few birthday parties happening here. The restrooms were surprisingly clean (for a park) and the soap was an added bonus. I have been to many a park where the restrooms are disgusting and they don't have soap, toilet paper or paper towels. Seeing as how these had 2 out of 3 (no paper towels although since it was so hot, it didn't matter), it is grand in my book. I will definitely take my kids back here for no other reason than they can run themselves ragged in the splash pad. read more

This park is hidden back in a neighborhood off Fig Tree Lane heading north on the road. We have family members who have had kids birthday parties here. The park has a few playground areas, pavilions to rent with picnic tables, and a splash pad in the middle. You can also bring a blanket and grab a spot on the ground or under a tree. On our most recent visit, it was nice to see all the families spending time together and the parties for different occasions. The splash pad makes being outside tolerable. We had started off at Central Park, and it was so hot and humid outside we made our way over to Plantation Woods to break up the day and do something different than swimming in the pool. Found this gem while searching for a free splash pad. Fenced water area that had numerous water games, water palm tree, 2 water guns, jumping water, mists. It is per of the Plantation community center and a bonus is it is right across the street from the library. They have a few pavilions for party rentals and a tennis court. Very nice park but the toilets were locked. Finally found someone to unlock them( through a camp counselor that happened to be there and called maintenance). 15 min later maintenance showed up and then took 10 more min to clean. Make sure to not expect toilets! read more

One of my favorite parks in the area. The splash area alone is enough to keep me coming back with my two sons on those hot days in South FL. The playground area surrounding the splash area is great and I love that the swings and slides are interspersed in different areas throughout this park. There are covered pavilions that are perfect for birthday parties and get-togethers. We have attended a few parties here and the covered pavilion provides shade and relief from the sun/rain. I've always liked the layout of this park and even when it is super busy, there still seems to always be a place to relax and watch your kiddos nearby. I fully recommend checking out this park if you are looking for a water/play type of day! Parking is fairly painless but the lot does sometimes fill up quickly. My kids ages 11 and 7 never turn down a family day at this fabulous spot! read more

Plantation is known for its abundance of parks, there are tons to choose from on any given Saturday. However, ask our daughter "which park do you want to go to?" and 9 times out of 10, Plantation Woods will be her answer. Our daughter loves this park; we too have strong feeling regarding the park, but first, a little background: Plantation Woods is located in what the town likes to call their "Historic District"; it's just across the way from the Plantation Library. The park was designed by local landscape architect Jeffrey Siegel, who sadly died before the park was completed (read about it on the Plantation web site). The park is broken down into three playground areas based on age, with a "water splash" area at its center (perfect on a hot day). However, if your kids are over 10, this may not be the park for them, as the park has a "younger kid feel" to its persona. The park also features rentable pavilions for birthday parties and such. Now here's the rub, though it is a great park offering all we need to kill 3 hours on a sunny afternoon, we seem to have issues every time we go there. This park is inundated with bad kids and inattentive parents (there I said it, exhale). Sure, that element is just about everywhere these days, but at this park, it seems to be rampant. To clarify, there's always a nine year old stalking a 4 year old and smacking them. You know the kid we're talking about, the one whose Twitter-texting, non-paying attention parent tells you "they're just kids" without giving you the courtesy of looking you in the face. Also, at this park more than any other in Plantation, as we're playing with our daughter and doting over her every move, some other child will insert themselves into our playtime with a continuing droning of "no, look at me, look what I can do, look at me, look at me, LOOK AT ME". No kid, go get your own father to 'look at you' as I am a wee-bit occupied at the moment. We are aware that for many of you, this will read like a rant on bad parenting and not a true review of the park, but we rarely have this issue elsewhere, so we really do feel that it is more indicative of the park's overall nature. We know in our hearts that most of you who have visited Plantation Woods with any regularity will agree with these comments. And those of you who don't agree, who claim you are there regularly and state that this problem doesn't exist, stop tweeting and put down your smartphone... now look to your left, yep, that's your kid pushing a toddler out of an 6 foot high tree house. read more
